Isha Kriya
Short Description
This book helps to learn yoga in easy way designed by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev....
Description
Isha Kriya This Kriya will create a certain distance between you and your body, between you and your mind. Only because you are identified with your mind and body, you are struggling in life. Once you are no longer identified with the limited identifications of body and mind, you will be in touch with the source of creation within you. Once this happens, Grace happens and life becomes effortless. Once there is a distance with the body and mind, the Grace of all the Gurus and Sadhguru’s Grace will be with you.
Isha kriya asana
Instructions: Preparation: Sit with your eyes closed, in a cross-legged posture, facing East. Keep your hands open, palms facing up, with a slightly upturned face. Keep a mild focus between your eyebrows (see the above picture). This meditation will happen in three stages: Stage 1: Inhale and exhale gently, slowly. With each inhalation, mentally say to yourself: ‘I am not the body’ and inhale for the whole duration of that thought. With each exhalation, mentally say to yourself: ‘I am not even the mind’ and exhale for the whole duration of that thought. The breathing should be like in this diagram:
Isha Kriya Breathing
Do this for 7 to 11 minutes Stage 2: Utter the sound AAA with mouth open. The sound should be coming from below the navel. You need not utter it very loud, but enough to feel the vibration. Utter the sound 7 times, exhaling fully into each sound. Stage 3: Sit for 5 to 6 minutes with your head slightly upturned and focus between your eyebrows. Total is between 12 to 18 min. You can sit longer if you want. Whatever is happening in your body, or your mind, you simply sit. Do not participate in the activity of the mind, or the body. Do not take a break during the practice or it will disturb the reorganization of energies that will be in process. Anyone can practice this mudra and enjoy the benefits. Simply follow the instructions without making any changes. This is a simple but very potent mudra. You can remind yourself about this (I am not the body, I am not even the mind) anytime of the day. You must do this for 48 days, or a full mandala, twice a day for 12 minutes minimum each time, or once a day, for 90 days. This is your commitment. This is your Gurudakshina.
Sitting with head upturned - benefits Now sitting with your head slightly upturned is not to see some god floating in the clouds. It is not because you want to see something in the sky. You keep your head upturned because when your system looks upward things happen. Your system becomes receptive. This is not to let your imagination run wild in the clouds. This is like opening a window. This is about becoming receptive to the Grace of the Gurus. When you become willing and receptive, your body naturally arches up.
The essence of meditation is that it creates a space between you and what you refer to as your mind. All the suffering in the world, where is it manufactured? In your mind. If you distance yourself from the mind, can there be suffering in you? This is the end of suffering. So you are sitting there, there is a distance between you and your mind, but the problem is the moment you open your eyes, you are again stuck with your mind. If you meditate every day, a day comes when you open your eyes, and still the mind is here and you are here. This is the end of suffering. Whether you are here, or beyond, this is the end of suffering. That means your whole karmic bag has been kept aside. It cannot have any influence over you. Once the past has no influence over you, then life becomes such a huge potential. Every breath becomes such a tremendous possibility in your life, because the past is not playing any role in your existence here now. If you sit here, you are absolute life.
Chanting - benefits When you utter the sound AAA, the maintenance center in your body gets activated. This is Manipuraka, or navel center. Manipuraka is just three fourths of an inch below your navel, this is Vishnu Sthana. You know that Vishnu and Lakshmi are always connected? The maintenance operator and goddess of money and wealth linked together because where there is no maintenance there will be no money, isn't it? Vishnu’s place is this is the maintenance center. When you were in your mother’s womb your maintenance pipe was there. Now the maintenance pipe is cut but the maintenance center is still in your navel. If you utter the sound AAA, you will see the reverberation will start about three fourths of an inch below the navel spreads right across the body. Sound AAA is the only reverberation which spreads right across the body because this is the only place where at the 72,000 nadis meet and redistribute
themselves. Nadis are energy pathways and there are 72 000 nadis in the system. They all meet at Manipuraka and redistribute themselves. This is the only point in the body like that. If you utter the sound AAA, the reverberations of AAA are carried right across the system. This reverberation can assist greatly in one’s maintenance or servicing your maintenance center. Activating this center will bring health, dynamism, prosperity and wellbeing.
