1. Pre-Installatio Pre-Installation n (Install windows from scratch)

Pre-Installation of windows can be done in several modes: Situation1. If you have computer DVD-s, first choise is the next DVD :

Press F10 to enter e nter in Lifecycle Controller-Opereating system Deployment (You will choose which operating system you will install on station)

Situation2. If this above DVD is not in your your stack, find the next one :

Press F10 to enter e nter in Lifecycle Controller-Opereating system Deployment (You will choose which operating system you will install on station)-avaible also for DownGrade system from 2012 to 2008. You can press also F12 to go in Boot menu, and to boot from this DVD.

Situation3. If the above DVD-s are not in your stack, find the next one, or create one from the images from server (\\10.97.210.35\ OPVE_Install\Windows Kits\):

Install Windows (delete all partitions, create C partition 100G, and D partition the rest).

Activate Windows if is not already activated.

Deactivate firewall and Automatic Updates.

2. Install Computer Drivers (Chipset,NetWork,Video,Sound-from CD or from DELL website)

It is preffered to install first of all ,the chipset, followerd by video card, network card and audio card . You can chose to install drivers from the following DVD , if you have it:

If no DVD found, go and download specific drivers from DELL SUPPORT website:

3. Install Microsoft Security Patches

Install the Microsodt Security Paches depending of your system: 

Inside each folder you will find 2 other folders: 

Install them in this order.Can keep the computer busy for couple of hours.

Rename/Disable Ethernet ports If they are more than 2 boards, plug in a CAT5 (ethernet cable) to see witch is first LAN. Rename it in Ovation Primary (or OHI1). Plug in the cable in the second port, and rename the LAN in Ovat ion Secondary (or OHI2). Disable the rest of the LAN boards.

Step2. Configure Ethernet ports Go in Network Connections place and pre ss AltGr key from keyboard .

You will see one menu sliding down.

Go to Advance button and select Advance Settings line.

You will configure like in the picture, Ovation Pr imary to be first choise and Ovation Secondary to be the second Choise.

Step3. Configure Ovations IP’s

Select Primary Ovation port and rigth click it ,go to Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/Ipv4) from list and press Properties button:

Put the following settings: IP adress: 192.168.2.200 SubnetMask:255.255.254.0 Preferred DNS server:127.0.0.1(internal loop IP).

For the Ovation Secondary port go and deselect all from list:

Step4. Configure speed of ethernet ports Rigth click on Ovation Primary, Properties and c lick Configure button.

Select Advance Tab, Choose from Property list Speed & Duplex , and then select from value drop down list third option:100 Mbps full D uplex. Make the same settings for Ovation Seco ndary port.

Step5. Install OHI driver Rigth click on Ovation Primary port , click Properties.

Select Install button .Select Cient from list.

Press Add button, Browse on your Hard Drive, and Search for netsf.inf file.

After restart the computer, you will find on second position some Ovation Highway Interface (OHI) driver. Please select it for both of the network ports (Primary and Seco ndary).

5. Change computer name Before you create Domain, you should change your computer name in DROP200. Find My Computer,rigth click on it , select Properties.

You will can change computer name if you will press Change and after changing , OK button. Restart is required.

6. Install Domain Server - Chapter 4.3-OWS351_10 Software_installation_guide To promote a Windows Server 2 008 R2 machine to a Primary Domain Controller 1. Open a command prompt and enter the following command:

net user administrator /passwordreq:yes

4. In the Roles Summary area, click Add Roles. 5. Review the information on the Be fore You Begin page, and then click Next. 6. On the Select Server Roles page, click the Active Directory Domain Services check box.

7. Select Add Required Features and then click Next. 8. Review the information on the Act ive Directory Domain Services page, and then click Next.

9. On the Confirm Installation Selections page, click Install.

10. On the Installation Results page, c lick the Close this wizard and launch the Active Directory Domain Services Installation Wizard (dcpromo.exe) link to start the second part of the AD DS installation.

11. On the Welcome to the Active Directory Domain Services Installation Wizard page, click the Use advanced mode installation check box, and then click Next.

12. Depending on the TCP/IP configuration, the Configure Domain Name System Client Settings page may be displayed. On this page, check the option Automatically correct the problem by installing DNS Server, and then click Next. 13. On the Operating System Compatibility window, click Next.

14. On the Choose a Deployment Configuration page, click Create a new domain in a new forest , and then click Next.

15. On the Name the Forest Root Domain page, enter the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) name

for the domain, and then click Next.

16. On the Domain NetBIOS Name page, either accept the default name that has been granted or enter the Domain NetBIOS name for the domain, and then click Next.

17. On the Set Forest Functional Level page, select Windows Server 2008 R2 from the Forest functional level drop-down box, and then click Next. 18. Select 2008 R2 and click Next. 19. On the Additional Domain Controller Options page, make sure the DNS server and Global catalog options are selected and click Next.

20. If you have multiple NIC adapters e nabled or a single NIC adapter with a dynamically assigned IP address, a warning message displays, ( This computer has dynamically assigned IP addresses ). Do not continue further until you fix the problem.

a) Click No, I will assign static IP addresses to all physical network adapters to close the war ning message dialog. b) Open the Network Connections page, and make sure a static IP address is assigned to the NIC adapter that is used for Ovation. c) On the Network Connections page, m anually disable all the other NIC adapters that are not used for Ovation. d) On the Additional Domain Controller Options page, click Next. 21. The following warning message may display:  A delegation for this DNS server cannot be created You can ignore the warning and c lick Yes to continue. 22. On the Location for Database, Log Files, and SYSVOL page, accept the default locations for the database, log files, and SYSVOL, and then c lick Next.

23. On the Directory Services Restore Mode Administrator Password page, enter and confirm the restore mode password, and then click Next.

The Ovation Developer Studio License Agreement appears. S elect Yes.(OK OK- twice if you have Trial License) 24. If this is a new database, you will need to build your Ovation system through the Developer Studio tree. 25. Right-click the Systems folder in the Developer Studio tree. Insert a new system name, for example, Ovation. Select Finish and then OK.

Use NO spaces or special characters ($, #, %, or @) in a System, Network, Unit, or Drop name. 26. Under the new System, right-click Networks and insert a new Network name, for e xample, “Net0.” Select Finish and then OK. Note:

When a network is first created, Ovation functions are disabled and the Ovation system is locked down. Security roles have been assigned at this point. An Administrator role must be assigned before you can continue to create your Ovation system. (See Managing Ovation Security .) Use the following steps to assign the Administrator role: a) Open the Ovation Security Manager. b) Select the Manage Users task.

10.Install Ovation Patches Go to your Ovation Patches(Ovation_3.5.1_Patches) folder and unzip the latest one. Run the Setup.exe.
