Coordinate the on-site team’s activities and roles associated with a specific upgrade. Construct Project Plans (Microsoft Project) for the various phases. Ensure all software is current and appropriate for the customer. Conduct customer walk-throughs to ensure understanding and cooperation. These upgrades were accomplished via the RAD method of development. This documentation was used by the developers to drive the whole development effort. Manage the offshore development effort. This entailed conducting daily (RAD) meetings to review and correct the application development progress and re-design the product where necessary. Apply standards to the Business Objects/Business Intelligence (WEBI) platform. This involves reviewing and enhancing existing BOBJ executive reports. All of this work was coordinated through the use of daily Scrum meetings. The entire project team participated. This entailed: Preparing detailed test plans, testing new functions (Test Partner) and tracking the test results through the use of the Track Record tracking software. The data was warehoused on the mainframe, part of the work was to analyze and change DB2 data using SPUFI queries. Interfacing with both business analyst and developers to setup tests and environments was also required. Test Partner software generated HTML scripts that were used and manipulated to facilitate the introduction of test information into the system. Verizon Communications Philadelphia, Pa. 2/2005 - 4/2005 Project Manager As a project manager working in Verizon’s “front door” group in support of their retail marketing data warehouse team. This entailed: Coordinating the whole development process for both maintenance and new initiatives. Conducting business requirement and technical walkthroughs throughout the full life cycle of the project – initiative creation through production installation. This process is on-going across several projects each one at a different phase. Thoroughly review all of the business functional specifications coupled with walkthrough’s and reviews with the technical staff. Independence Blue Cross Philadelphia, Pa. 11/2003 - 1/2005 Project Manager Track and managed (2) inter-related projects: Current system interfaces conversion and the shutdown of the old system for IBC’s Enrollment systems group. Several of those interfaces were being added to the MHS system and
as a result I became familiar with the MHS system and any interface changes being made during the conversion. These changes were necessary to allow the company to process the more complex needs of Lane Bryant – a recent acquisition. This work encompassed everything from design though coding, testing and installing the new processes using COBOL2, CICS and DB2. Specifically, this project involved the coding and testing of some very complex CICS transactions, e.g., XCTL to backround started tasks in a multi-level modular environment. Additionally, assisted the project manager during the systems test phase by analyzing, tracking, de-bugging and delegating problems on the Receiving portion of the project. This required the ability to act as a business analyst to successfully interface with the receiving system users, technical developers and project management personnel. AIGM Wilmington, DE 2/2001 - 6/2001 Project Manager Managed a project to migrate a mainframe batch insurance reporting system into a production environment. This involved coordinating the efforts of 2 to 4 people in addition to managing the business analysis of the existing reporting process to ensure that the new system satisfied the users’ needs while eliminating useless and/or expensive report processing: Designed date conversion matrix to allow hands-off production processing. Eliminated interpretive execution and replaced that with compiled code modules. Planned entire project using Microsoft Project 98. Prepared detailed status and planning documents for management. Implemented AIG naming standards and conventions to what was previously a system run by programmers from their desktops. Installed entire system into an Endeavor scheduling structure.
