Patterns: Blood Pressure Imbalance stiff neck and shoulders, dizziness, headaches, fatigue, irritability, palpitations, shortness of breath, stroke, arteriosclerosis, heart disease, red face and cheeks
Diagnosis/Palpation: occipital bone BL10 GB20 area (puffy, thicky, painful, hot, red marks) upper trapezius (ropey, painful, swollen) Under lateral spine of scapula [B] PC8 [B] LI4
Treatment: [B] SP6 needled 45 degrees with the flow of SP meridian [B] SP9 needled 10 degrees with the flow of SP meridian For PC8: If tender: needle PC3 and PC5 (metal water tx). If not tender: needle PC6. If PC8 feels good upon palpation: Needle directly. If patient can't tolerate direct needling, use Japanese PC4. Needle behind 3rd toe For kori under lateral spine of scapula: Needle perpendicularly and burn kyutoshin moxa, repeat until kori disappears For LI4: Tap needle into point and retain for 20 minutes. If pulsating, add direct thread sized moxa. CV14 15 degree angle with the flow of Ren meridian, inserted 0.1 inch (very shallow) CV12 15 degree angle with the flow of Ren meridian, inserted 0.2 inch (very shallow) [B] KD13 perpendicular insertion with depth of 1 inch, add kyutoshin if abdomen is cold CV6 perpendicular insertion with depth of 1 inch, add kyutoshin if abdomen is cold BL10 area insert very shallow (just tap in) and take out after few seconds of in and out thrusts GB20 area insert very shallow (just tap in) and take out after few seconds of in and out thrusts

DU20 15 degree towards the back (if in prone position, needle towards front) KD1 needle perpendicularly
