Hyflo™ III Liner Packer with C-2™ Profile, Hyflo III Liner Packer with HR™ Profile, Hyflo™ III Liner Packer with RH™ Profile Product No. H29612, H29618, and H29619 General Information Description The Hyflo™ III Liner Packers, Product Family Nos. H29612 (C-2™ Running Tool), H29618 (HR™ Running Tool) and H29619 (2RH™ Running Tool), are Liner Top Packers. They are set by applying set down weight to the sett ing dogs on either the C-2 Liner Setting Tool (Product Family No. H26521) or the Packer Setting Dog Sub (Product Family No. H27009). The Packer Setting Dog Sub (Product Family No. H27009) must be used when running the 2RH (Product Family No. H26523) or the HR (Product Family No. H26666) Liner Setting Tool. Due to the additional length of the Setting Dog Sub, the extension length on these Hyflo III tools (Product Family Nos. H29618 and H29619) must be a minimum of 10 ft. These packers will provide an effective annular seal between the top of the liner and the casing thus preventing possible formation break down, loss of cement slurry and gas migration above the liner top during cement cure.

NOTE: NOTE: Shear forces and pressures recommended in this Tech Unit are theoretical values only, calculated from nominal shear screw values and nominal piston areas. Observed shear values in the well may vary due to tolerance in shear strength of screws, internal tool friction, mud lubricity, cuttings or other solids in the mud and a number of other variables. Tools which shear "out of range" do not necessarily indicate a tool malfunction. WARNING Use of Baker equipment contrary to manufacturer’s specification may result in property damage, serious injury or fatality.
Running/Setting Procedures Liner top packers as a rule should be run in at a slow to moderate speed, usually 1 to 2 minutes per stand. Circulation rates should not exceed 3 to 4 barrels per minute. Care should be taken when running a Hyflo III Liner Packer using the 2RH Liner Setting Tool (Product Family No. H26523) to prevent pre-release of the junk cover. Pre-release of the junk cover could allow pre-set of the packer of premature release of the running tool from the liner packer. See the appropriate technical document for the running and releasing procedure for the liner setting tools.
When the cement job is complete simply pick up the required length to allow the setting dogs to pass the top of the setting sleeve. The spring loaded dogs will pop out, allowing the set down weight to the work string to be applied to the setting sleeve. See tables 2 and 3 for recommended set down weight at the tool to obtain complete pack-off. These tools should not be run with a work string any smaller than 2-7/8" tubing. When running these tools on tubing, consult the slack-off graphs in the Baker Tech Facts Book to determine the amount of weight at the surface that maybe slacked off to obtain the desired force at the packer. After the liner packer is set the setting tool may be pulled from the liner top. Reverse circulation of cement can be performed without fear of formation damage due to pressure exerted on the cement.
