Health and safety Safety comes first, always

House of Safety Building a truly effective safety program is like building a sturdy home and begins with a stable foundation. At Brand, we believe in five pillars of safety, our EHS Management Process & Systems, which are the solid base for our outstanding safety performance and culture and aid in helping us create strategic and effective safety initiatives company-wide. ● Brand’s incentive-based, voluntary Employee Intervention System (EIS) is our field employee behavioral-based safety program, utilizing the “Kaizen” method of continuous improvement. ● The Supervisor Observation System (SOS) fosters an atmosphere of proactive ownership and accountability at the supervisor level through peer-topeer observation and review, while affecting positive leadership development. ● Management Safety Reviews (MSRs) are an integral part of Brand’s safety system and are required by all management. MSRs employ the ‘‘Go See‘‘ method of management and are field observation based, allowing for much more than superficial understanding of the safety processes in the field. ● Brand’s Gold Link Audit System is an indepth and multi-level internal evaluation of a site’s safety management system and processes through inspection, interview and documentation review. ● The Brand Learning Network (BLN) is our state-of- the-art web-based Learning Management System for compliance, regulatory, craft and career path training, making all training and education easily accessible to all Brand employees.

Cleaning and repair

At the end of your project, the results can only be as good as the materials and equipment used, and this is especially true of formwork. An immaculate concrete finish is only achievable with forms that function faultlessly and efficiently. Regular reconditioning through cleaning and maintenance is the only way for the equipment to last longer and function cost efficiently. Repair and cleaning services are available for Hünnebeck products you have rented or purchased.

From a single source Our specialist teams can also replace wooden or plastic form sheets if required in addition to cleaning and maintaining a full range of proprietary equipment.

The most cost-competitive solution To conserve your own resources, our cleaning and repair service is the perfect solution. You save working space and rental time, you prevent interruptions and disruptions to your workflow, and you can deploy your own workforce more efficiently elsewhere.

Formwork beams

DU-ALTM beams and MkII Soldiers DU-AL™ aluminium S150 beams

DU-AL™ aluminium beams The use of aluminium over timber has great advantages. Aluminium is lighter and stronger than timber and therefore allows for larger assemblies of formwork, which in turn reduces the labour cost of fixing and erecting.

The single-web S150 and twin-web T150 beams are supplied with timber inserts to allow for plywood to be fixed. The S150 is available for general use to suit all budgets and the stronger T150 is ideal for when a combination of high loading and larger support centres are required. The T225 primary beam is lightweight and easily handled yet capable of resisting moments up to 29.25kNm and loads up to 100kN providing the ideal solution for primary support, particularly for strip and re-erect applications.

LOGIK® 360 Logik® 360 ● True circular panel formwork system ● Fast and simple setting procedure ● Lightweight slim profile Logik® 360 is the first circular panel formwork system that can claim to produce a true curve without any flat spots. The patented design demonstrated Hünnebeck’s innovative approach to circular formwork, with minimal components and full compatibility with our MANTO® panel system. The numerous components and hundreds of bolts associated with traditional methods of circular formwork have now been eliminated. Standard panel widths of 1.25m (external) and 1.24m (internal) allow for circualr walls to be formed as small as 5m in radius. A range of panel heights are available that are rated up to 60kN/m2 pressure.

LOGIK® 360 Assembly The internal and exteranl panels are colour coded for easy identification. Each panel has four turnbuckles that are easily adjusted with a supplied spanner to preset the plywood face to the required radius. A simple pre-made timber template can be used to check the accuracy of the radius. Panels are fixed together using adjustable clamps and tie washer/nuts provide support to tie rods. Concrete chute supports can be fixed to the top of panels to prevent spillage over the turnbuckles. Access Walkway brackets can be attached to the Logik® 360 panels to give safe access for pouring. Depending on the radius of the wall, scaffold boards or DU-AL™ beams and plywood can be fixed to the brackets providing a suitable deck. Tube guardrails can be fixed to the intergrated guard post.

GASS®

● Lighweight, yet strong aluminium components ● Heavy duty capacity up to 140kN reduces equipment required ● Quick and easy assembly with just three main components ● Unique locking ledger frames located at any position along the leg ● Used with DU-AL™ aluminium beams and MkII Soldiers

Developed from extensive experience gained from working on many of the largest and most demanding construction projects worldwide, GASS® has been specially designed as a lightweight, high capacity system that is easy to use, fast to erect and uses only a small range of components. With a number of international patents to protect its innovative design, GASS® has proved popular on a wide variety of projects globally including bridges, tunnels, reservoirs, commercial projects including airports, retail developments and offices. The strength and versatility offered from the system allows for the wider range of construction projects, yet it still offers competitive economic advantages regardless of the application.

GASS® GASS® falsework support The GASS® system can be used to suit a number of construction methods for slab formwork and support. ‘Strip and re-erect’ utilises the high safe working loads with large efficient grids and minimal quantities and high floor to soffit heights can be achieved. ‘Flying/rolling tables’ are suited for repetitive multistorey construction allowing for quicker cycle times with minimal dismantling required between floors and sections. This application can be used to reduce risks associated with working at height and flying tables can be safely lifted without the need for loading platforms at the building edge. Support to permanent formwork and pre-cast units is straightforward. Assembly With just three main individual components, outer leg, inner leg and ledger frame, assembly is quick and simple. A locking feature on the ledger frames gives visible assurance that it is secured. Access platforms can be used on top of ledger frames to allow for firm working areas for taller assemblies. DU-AL™ aluminium beams and MkII Soldiers provide a versatile range of primary and secondary bearers for the soffit support. The range of beam lengths available with differing properties to suit ensure an economic solution for the majority of projects.

CUPLOK® CUPLOK® falsework support The range of CUPLOK® equipment gives the system the capability to tackle virtually any soffit support application with the most cost-effective approach. We can provide a large number of grid variations to fit steel, aluminium or timber joists. CUPLOK® can be used in conjunction with DU-AL™ aluminium beams. Du-al®’s high strength and low weight result in increased productivity with a selection of three types of beams in a variety of lengths. Primary beams are supported in forkheads and fastened by means of a quick fixing clamp. Assembly

The principal feature of CUPLOK® is the unique node point - locking up to four horizontals in one single action without the use of nuts, bolts or wedges. The locking device is formed by a fixed lower cup, which is welded to the vertical at 0.5m intervals, and a sliding upper cup. The forged blade ends of the horizontals are located in the lower cup. The upper cup is moved down and rotated by hammer blows to give a positive and rigid connection.

TOPEC® ● Areas quickly covered with large 1.8m x 1.8m panels ● Safe erection and dismantling from ground for all heights ● Secondary/primary beams and clamps not required ● Quick and simple assembly with minimal main components panel, prop and bearing TOPEC® is a simple, cost effective slab formwork system designed to deliver high output rates in conventional building applications. Verified by independent testing bodies, TOPEC® has been proven to be simpler and quicker to erect and strike than other slab support systems on the market. With just basic training and familiarisation needed, the system offers significant cost advantages over conventional table forms, not only due to reduced erection times, with easy to handle, lightweight aluminium framed panels, but also because dependency on crane lifting is kept to a minimum. Soffit support Slab thicknesses of up to 400mm can be supported with use of the large 1.8m x 1.8m panel. The 1.8m x 0.9m panel and smaller panels are able to support thicker slabs from 500 - 750mm. EUROPLUS tubular steel props or GASS® aluminium legs provide support to the panels. EUROPLUS props generally give the more economic solution and feature a quick release mechanism. GASS® offers added strength and flexibility. Assembly A small team of just three to four workers is generally sufficient for fast and safe erection of TOPEC®. The system is designed to be erected from the supporting level for propping heights up to 3.5m. Panels are simply hooked on to the supports and raised with the erection rod which enables additional supports to be installed and subsequently more panels to be raised. The method of erection at heights over 3.5m can be easily carried out with the use of a small mobile scaffold or a mobile elevated work platform (MEWP).

MULTIFORM® climbing bracket ● Complete solution to climbing of formwork ● Compatible with all types of system and traditional formwork ● Larger unit sizes up to 7.2m wide ● Mesh guard edge protection The MULTIFORM® climbing system provides a robust solution for the construction of high rise building projects yet meets the safety and economic demands of a highly competitive industry. Units are crane-lifted in line with the construction of walls that are cast with anchors/formed pockets to which units are supported off. The system can be used in conjunction with the traditional or systemised panel formwork solutions to facilitate the construction of high rise lift cores, stair walls and perimeter walls. Traditional formwork (MkII Soldiers and DU-AL™ beams) and other proprietary panel systems can also be used with the MULTIFORM® climbing system. DU-AL™ aluminium beams offer platform sizes up to a practical maximum of 7.2m wide. A range of beam lengths are available to suit the structure and unit size required. Timber beams may also be used up to a maximum size of 225mm deep. EXTRAGUARD™, standard tube guardrails and mesh guard can be supplied for the MULTIFORM® climbing system, offering edge protection that is flexible towards site requirements. Mesh guard has been developed specifically for the climbing systems providing secure protection up to 3.8m high.

Climbing formwork

MULTIFORM® bracket climbing External support A choice of the guided climbing system or the more traditional jumpform system can be used for external support of formwork. Jump-form units are supported off external shoes. These are fixed to cast-in tie anchors and climbing cones. Climbing cones can be recovered and re-used as construction progresses, whilst tie anchors remain cast in the structure. Guided climbing distinguishes itself from jump-form through the use of guide tracks that are secured to the structure via twin cast-in tie anchors and climbing cones. These enable the climbing units to maintain contact with the structure during all times of use thus allowing for simpler and safer lifting operations. Repositioning of units is quicker and more accurate. Internal support Internal platforms can be used to support formwork to aid construction of lift cores and stair walls. The internal platform is made up of a primary support beams that supports DU-AL™ aluminium beams and a plywood decking. The primary support beams have pivoting feet that sit securely within preformed wall pockets. When the internal platform is lifted to the next level, the feet rotate to allow the platform to be lifted to the next level. Wall pockets are cast using steel pocket formers that are fixed to the formwork. These are retrieved after each pour and re-used for subsequent levels. Alternatively, end beam connectors that sit on internal shoes can be used rather than using pivoting feet and pre-formed pockets. The internal shoes have a pivoting support plate and are fixed to cast-in tie anchors and climbing cones.

MULTIFORM® climbing bracket Travelling cart

Travelling cart Formwork can be fixed to travelling carts that sit on the climbing brackets. The travelling carts allow for the formwork to be moved back and forth from the face of the structure to give room for cleaning/preparing formwork, making good holes and fixing of reinforcement bars. The travelling cart features a stabiliser that enables plumbing and alignment of formwork/panel systems and also striking of panels. As formwork/ panel systems are fixed to the travel cart, savings in craning time can be achieved. The jack adjuster wrench and rack and pinion ratchet are used with the travelling cart.
