How to Transport Requirement Routines From One Client to the Other

Introduction Requirement Routine functionality in SAP can be used to check a particular condition and do a certain task; only if that condition is satisfied. Condition has to be created as a requirement routine in transaction VOFM and it has to be assigned in the configuration against the relevant task. Eg: Apply a certain price condition type; only is the sales document type equals to “ZSOR” This is very useful in areas such as, Pricing, Outputs, Copy controls, etc. This document will give an overview on transporting a newly created requirement routine from one client to the other (Eg: From Development client to Quality / Production) We need to transport the Workbench Request i.e. Routine first, then the customizing request

Important: VOFM requirement routines are not automatically usable in target clients. Eg: If you create a pricing requirement routine in development client and transport it to Quality / Production clients, you cannot directly use it without generating the routine again in the respective client. (i.e. In Quality / Production clients again) We have to Activate and Generate the Routine in each and every client after transporting. This requires new Access Keys for those clients as well as you have to ask Basis to open the client for development / configuration.

How to Transport / Generate Routines automatically in each client You can use 2 methods. 

In the Transport Organizer you can manually add the following entry to the parent Workbench Request for the Routine. R3TR XPRA RV80HGEN This automatically executes report [RV80HGEN] after the Transport Request has been imported into the target system. Please refer SAP Note 22808 for more detail.



Alternatively, you can apply SAP Note 598475 to your development system. This effect a change in VOFM, automatically adding the entry above to each Workbench Request created from VOFM.

Either method can be used to generate VOFM routines in the target client automatically, where as you don’t need to ask basis to open the client & generate it in each client with new access keys. It’s more user-friendly to ask Basis consultant to apply second correction note in your development client at the very beginning. (Because it automatically generates the routine in the target client after transporting, where as in the first method you always have to modify the transport request before releasing)
