Introduction When you have “n” number of transport requests (where “n” is a large number) to be transported to your production client (let’s say 100 transport requests), your BASIS team might ask you to merge those requests & send them. You can merge those transport requests together & give only merged transport request numbers to BASIS. (Eg: 100 transport requests might reduce to 10) Eg: If you configured an organization structure in SAP, you can merge all definition requests together & all assignment requests together & ask BASIS to transport only those 2 merged requests.

Procedure Pre-requests: Release your individual transport requests. How to release a Transport Request  Go to SE10  Enter you User ID 

Please make sure you tick on



Press

& button

check boxes.

 

Now you have to identify the transport requests that need to be released. If you know the request number, you can use CTRL+F option to find your request. You can see that request is under the main tree named “Modifiable”



First click on the request number & click on



Then select the sub tree request number & Hit



You can see a successful message appear in the message bar.



Now you have to click on the top tree request number & click on

option. Then you’ll see something like that.

Then that request number will be removed from “Modifiable” main tree & placed under “Released” main tree.

How to merge transport requests Same manner you have to release all your individual transport requests before going to merge them. First you have to manually create a Transport request for merger. 

Select Customizing node & press on

button.



Give a short description for that transport request & save



Now you can see the new request is created under “Modifiable” node.



Now to add individual requests to the “Merge request”, first select that merge request number & click on



Select the “Object lists from multiple requests” option from the popup.

 

Press Now you can search for your individual requests from the selection screen



Make sure you have ticked

 

Execute it. You’ll be in a screen like this. It’ll display individual requests based on the “Request status” that you have selected.



To add individual requests to your merge request, click on the individual request, Go to Menu option Edit -> Selection -> Select Sub tree +/- or use CTRL+SHIFT+ F5 shortcut keys

check box.

 

Repeat same for your individual requests to be merged. Once you select all your individual requests, the screen will look like this. Here I’m merging 4 transport requests.



Click on



Press



You can see a message appear in the message bar.

to merge them in to a one. from the popup window.



Now you can see those merged transport requests by pressing



Now to transport those 4 requests, you can send merged request number to BASIS. Eg:



For that you have to release the sub request number first .
