Malaysia known as a „Truly Asia‟, where - is a land that has been bestowed with greenery, mountain, beaches, and rivers that can attract foreigners to visit these beautiful places. - is a famous country that has many attractive - historical places, different cultures, language and religion for tourists from outside to visit.



These attractive have given a huge opportunity to grown more develop in the tourism industry.

Ways To Promote Tourism Malaysia 1.

People in Malaysia - Play an important role to promote tourism Malaysia. - Behaviour, attitude and character - friendly, helpful, polite and ready to welcome tourists to our country - To give a good impression to the tourists when they set their foot for a holiday here Culture - diversity of cultures and customs of local people can also attract many tourists come to our country. - harmonious life of the people of various races such as Malay, Chinese and Indian. - the cultural practices and faith can be compelling the tourists and be able to promote tourism Malaysia - cultural performances is one of the list set in the tourist diary as an attraction for them to visit our country

The Taste of Malaysia - Malaysian cuisine make known about the multicultural aspects of Malaysia and is a collectivism culture to attract tourist to visit our country. - Different races have different food representative. - Malay cuisine: Nasi Lemak, Satay and Rendang - Chinese cuisine: Bak Kut Teh, Chicken Rice, and Cantonese Fried Mee - Indian cuisine: Roti Canai, Teh Tarik and Murtabak. - Malaysia‟s weather allows fruits to be grown all the year round. Most tropical fruits are grown in Malaysia. - Durian – “King of the Fruits” - Rambutan - Mangosteen – “Queen of the Fruits” - Lychee - Mango - Longan 3.

Training Development - improve our country tourist guide communication skills by giving further language study. - to avoid language barrier between tourist - train our tourist guide on more knowledgeable about our country - give explanation more details to the tourists about our country.

Cleanliness - the government must take note about the cleanliness at the tourist spot especially beaches surrounding. - Malaysian always have a bad habit – just throw out the trash. - increase civic awareness among the people to always keep the environment clean - if our country is clean, it is also giving a good impression to the tourists come and visit our country.

International Event - holding international sports event / activities - Commonwealth, Formula 1, Olympic Games and MTV World Stage - held more these event to promote tourism Malaysia and might help to increase our country reputation. Festival / Campaign About Malaysia - Malaysia is a multi-racial and a multi-cultural country. - One of the best way to promote our country tourism is more promoting through festival and campaign. - For example: KL Festival which currently in held 31st July 2011. - opportunities provide for the tourists to learn more our religion and culture. - by presenting our different cultural, different heritage and different traditional games and pastimes - attract more tourists come over to Malaysia

Expansion, Modernization and Additional Services - accommodation, historical buiding, communications, transports, shopping and entertainment. - Hommestay Programme for foreign students to learn our Malaysia culture and get adapt into our living style in malaysia. - provide more transportation such as buses, LRT, taxi‟s and tour buses - to convenient tourist to reach the destination and also for Malaysian.

Advertising and Internet - distributing leaflets, advertise through televison, newspaper and magazine about the privileges available in Malaysia. - For example, about affordable travel packages and travel guide, historical place, our multi-racial and multi culture, and the taste of malaysia. - always update the information and promotion on the website (http://www.tourism.gov.my) and E-brochures, advertise through social media communities such as Facebook and twitter. - shooting some videos with the theme of Malaysia Truly Asia 2011 to promote our of the country – nature and culture.

Conclusion In conclusion, tourism in Malaysia can be further develop by promoting many aspect (as stated) in what the country within in. As a Malaysian we should help to promote tourism in our country to increase the number of tourist visiting our country. This also can help to built up a good economy of our country, increase the income of our country and could improve the reputation of our country, Malaysia.
