Introduction You might have a requirement to take a physical print out of a material document that was posted in SAP. It could be a GR posting, a transfer posting or goods issue. All of these postings correspond to a particular movement type in SAP and creates a material document. SAP provides functionality to print these material documents. In this document we will see what configurations and master data needs to be in place to print material documents.

Configuration Guide There are few configurations that are needed to be in place; most of which is already setup as part of standard SAP. This uses Condition tables, Access sequence, Output types and Output determination together with condition records which is similar to other areas in SAP that uses conditions such as pricing etc.

1. Maintain Condition Tables IMG Path:

2

It is recommended that you use SAP standard tables but here you can create and use new custom tables.

2. Maintain Access Sequence IMG Path:

3

Here you can define a new access sequence the output determination should use or use an existing one provided by standard.

4

If new access is to be defined you would need to provide the fields related to this access in the above screen.

3. Maintain Output types IMG Path:

Here you can define or change setting of the output type you are planning to use.

5

Note – This will be the default setting for the output type and will be overwritten by what is used on the condition records.

6

Here you will define the Program and the Form if you opt to go with a customization instead of SAP standard.

4. Maintain Output Determination Procedure

7

8

SAP provides one Output determination procedure with all the output types included. If you define a new output type you can include it in the same procedure and set the sequence, requirement and other settings as below.

9

Master Data 1. Create condition record Transaction: MN21

Enter the output type and hit enter.

Based on the requirement you can create the setting shown above and Save. Note – I have used Print Version as ‘3’ Collective Slip on the Condition record, therefore the material document should also have the same setting for the output to be saved. Click on the Communications button and make sure the following setting are entered.

10

Transaction Data 1. Print Material Document Transaction: MB90

Enter the information as above and execute.

11

Note – Select the appropriate processing mode (i.e. if it is first processing or repeat processing)

Select the items in the document and execute. Click on the print preview button to see the output.
