Email Notifications that are sent using MSMP Workflow is managed in the 4thtab “Variables & Templates” of the MSMP Configuration. Lets take an example of the process ID: SAP_GRAC_FIREFIGHT_LOG_REPORT. This process ID has the following notification templates as shown below under the Variables and Templates tab. The notification settings under the Maintain Stages section is used to assign the right notification templates for a specific event and a specific recipient ID.

Let’s take a deeper look at the definition of the templates, message classes and document objects.There are certain SAP tables that are required to know. GRFNMWNOTIFTEMP – this table has the relationship between the Process Type, Template ID and the message class.

GRFNVNOTIFYMSG – this table has the relationship between the message classes and the document object.

  SE61 – This transaction code is used to display or modify a document object. Make sure the Document Class: General Text is chosen to make any necessary changes or view the document object.

GRFNMWNOTIFVARBL – this table has the relationship between the Process ID and the available variables.

  The table below lists each process ID or event and the corresponding message class for each one of the workflow events.

  Variables: Each workflow process comes with a number of notification variables that are available to all notification templates that belong to it. The pre­delivered notification variable rule GRAC_NOTIF_VAR_RULE_AR is a function module that evaluates the actual values at run time of each of the notification variables. The following table lists the available notification variables byworkflow process.

  Creating a Custom Notification Template Step 1: Create a custom message class and associate a custom document object to it. Select the standard message class in table GRFNVNOTIFYMSG that you want to customize in edit mode.

  Hit the copy as button. Manually key in the Z custom document object name and save.

  Check the completed new custom message class and document object.

  Step 2:  create a Custom Template ID in the MSMP Configuration tcode: GRFNMW_CONFIGURE_WD. Click on Add and enter the Z template ID manually in the field, pick up the message class from the selection

Step 3:  create a custom document object and edit the word document to enter your own content. Use the Z custom document object that you previously assigned the message class to the document object and enter the doc object in SE61 under the Document Class “General Text” Click on create

  Issue Scenario we have an issue generating the MSMP version in our QA system. I noticed one strange thing that I am hoping someone in the community has seen this before. the notification templates when deleted in the frontend GRFNMW_CONFIGURE_WD does not reflect the same in tcode : GRFNMW_CONFIGURE. see  below

shows up in the tables. how do I get rid of these entries ?

  Please check below Note and follow the steps   1916328 – MSMP Generation Issue: Document Object TX/ZGRAC_MSMP_AR_APPROVED for Template ID ‘GRAC_AR_APPROVED’ not Found (Language ‘EN’) here is the text from the SAP Note 1916328. this resolved the issue.   Symptom Errors like the following errors are occurring while generating a MSMP new version, even if the documents were created in se61:

No active version exists for process SAP_GRAC_ACCESS_REQUEST Document Object TX/ZGRAC_MSMP_AR_APPROVED for Template ID ‘GRAC_AR_APPROVED’ not Found (Language ‘EN’)   Solution: In order to fix this issue, follow steps below 1. GoTo se61 ­> Version History 2. If the last version is set to raw version than click on the activation button
