A grease trap is either a masonry or cast iron chamber with a bent pipe or Tee –pipe at the outlet end. Because of the sudden increase in the area of flow at the entry the velocity of flow is reduced, resulting in the separation of oily and greasy matter from the wastewater This greasy matter, floating on the top can be removed later.
