JCAHO accredited with 450 FTE’s. Completed FY 2005 ahead of budget with a 29% increase in prior year revenue and bad debt 46% below budget. Improved service delivery by implementing new programs to facilitate patient flow, increasing Emergency Room visits by 30% and hospital inpatient admissions by 19%. Oversaw development of new open heart surgery program including the installation of 2 cardiac catheterization labs, angiography suite and new 7 bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit. President and Chief Executive Officer (1996 - 1998) Southwest Healthcare System, Cortez, CO Directed operations of a newly developed integrated healthcare delivery system which included two hospitals and six primary care clinics located throughout southeast Utah and southwest Colorado. Led transition of hospital operation from public not-for-profit, to private not-for-profit status. Coordinated system operations with local physician hospital organization. Developed management service organization which operated network clinics and provided management services to area physicians. Directed collaborative efforts with regional healthcare facility in adjoining service area. Chief Executive Officer (1989 - 1996) Montezuma County Hospital District, Cortez, CO Responsible for total operations of a 137-bed healthcare facility comprised of 61-bed acute care hospital and 76-bed long term care facility.
