Reaction Paper on Ilocos Tour & Hotel Familiarization in Marriott Hotel

Objectives: Hotel 

To be familiarize to the hotel accommodations and amenities especially in a five-star hotel and their offered services.

Ilocos Region 

To know about the region such as the history, culture and its people.



To personally see the tourist attractions in this region.

Result of Observation Hospitality Services -

refers to centrally organized social networks of individuals, generally  travellers, who offer or seek accommodation without monetary exchange.

Comparison Between Manila and Ilocos 

Hotel

Hotel in Manila is definitely fascinating because of the place itself. It is really spacious and decorative that if you will be there you can feel that you are a millionaire already.  Also there are a lot of shopping areas inside the hotel and nearby area. All you can feel are comfortability and relaxation if you will stay here in this hotel. The offered services are really high class. The security is really strict like if you are going inside the airport and check-in your luggage. Because they want to protect their guests from any bad things that can happen during their stay in hotel. All the things that I’ve seen were really  in modern and in a high technology. The price is equal to the quality of their services and amenities so if you are going to stay here, I suggest you have a lot of money to sustain and be satisfied your stay here. Hotel that we have stayed in Ilocos is fine and nice. It’s not really spacious and decorative but great and comfortable. The offered services is really good, it is in

standard service. Because we were in province we cannot compare the quality of a hotel in Manila because that is a five-star hotel and that is a business center. All the rich foreigners are there to do business and to have conventions and seminars that is why it is spacious and huge. Unlike hotel in Ilocos , it is only for leisure and relaxation. The security of hotel in Ilocos is not so strict unlike in hotel in Manila, because they want their guests to do what they want to do but of course with limitations. And of course, their guests are not like businessmen or VIPs like in the hotel of Manila that need to be so protected because of their identity and so on.

Restaurants and Cuisines

Restaurants in Manila is in modern and have high technology and very decorative  because people in Manila is in new generations and Manila is center for modernization unlike in Ilocos it is in an old decorations because they are selling their history and culture to the people that will visit their place. Their service is quite the same because the staff or people are really hospitable and friendly because that is in the blood of true Filipinos. Cuisines in Marriott Hotel are high class because the texture and the food itself is very  for high class people. It is very detailed like in the name of a cuisine and how you will give them to your guests and of course they need to organize the bringing the cuisines like first is the bread and butter, second is soup so on and so forth but last will be the dessert. The food that we ate in Marriott Hotel is quite different to the food that we eat everyday so it not so great but nice to have experience something like that. You felt that  you are a princess serving by your servants. Unlike in Ilocos , it is not quite detailed but it’s fine and good because the food is really  Filipino and some food originated there that only can found in Ilocos. Most of the restaurants in Ilocos are in self-service unlike in Manila there are a lot of fine dining.

Cuisines in Marriott Hotel  

Resorts

Resorts in Manila and in Ilocos are quite the same because of the services offered and the amenities. But different with the price because Ilocos is in province and Manila is the capital of the Philippines and center for businesses.

Tourism Operation 

Travel Agency And Tour Guides

The TravelSkype Tour agency did a great job. There are very organized and helpful. Their service is balance and good quality. They are making to the point that everything is fine and in control. The tour guides are good especially Kuya Hecky because he is unkabogable. They are friendly, hospitable and always making fun. They are making to the point that we will not be bored during our trip. They give a lot of information and trivia that we need before, during and after our trip. We experienced how difficult to caught the attention of guests  because we have been tour guide in a bus during our trip because that is our final examinations. It hard to make fun because we were so nervous but it was a great experience. It feels good that TravelSkype Tours are again our travel agency   because we know them already and have already bonding together. I hope that for the next tours they are again our travel agency and we thank them for giving such a great and unforgettable experience.



Transportation

The transportation is good even though we had pain in our body because of  sleeping in a bus. It is really nice because they have television in a bus and they  have movies offered for us to watch and not to be bored during our trip. Also Kuya Hecky during crazy things that is really funny that make us always alive and happy.

Attractions & Destinations 

Ilocos Region:

 Attractions in Ilocos is really historical such as Juan Luna Shrine, Marcos Museum, Malacañang of the North and Crisologo Museum. It is nice to know  about the past to exactly know why our present become like this. Also there are attractions that are for leisure such as Cape Bojeador Lighthouse/Burgos Lighthouse, Baluarte of Chavit Singson, Bangui Winmill and Jar Actual Making/Pagburnayan Pot. Also attractions for religious purposes such as Sta.Monica Church and Paoay Church and for eco-friendly attraction is the Hidden Garden. And also the beach that everyone loves, there is also beach in Ilocos Region that is the Paguppud Beach or also known as the Boracay of the North. There are many activities that you can do for relaxation and for leisure at the same time you will learn their history and culture.

Security (General) The security that they have been given to us is very satisfying because they  make to the point that everything is fine and always in-control. Even though in the last destination that we have been visited is very strict that made us quite feel that we are not responsible enough to protect ourselves. But we thanks our professors in-charge in the tour because they allowed us

to do what we want and also guide us throughout the activities of the tour even though we feel that they want to do it also. The security in hotels that we have been stayed is not so strict and we feel that we are protected by strangers because the place is really nice and the ambiance is really good.

Evaluation: The tour is such a great experience because of the people that we’ve  been together throughout the tour and also because of the attractions that  we have been visited in Ilocos Region and the five-star hotel seminar and familiarization of the accomodations and amenities. We have learned so many things about Ilocos region such as their cuisines, history and culture.  And we were fulfilled and satisfied because of the familiarization of hotels in Manila. That was so breath-taking because of their accomodations and prices that was high-class.

Recommendation: I hope that the itinerary will not be change during the trip even though there’s no case there but we need to be order for us not to interrupt our tour even though that was not happen in our tour. And the other tour guide needs of improvement of vocabulary and entertainment to satisfy  their guests. But thanks to her because I knew that she is trying to entertain us.
