Real Results
Since its inception Weatherford Petroline HDWFS has been used in more than 250 specialized fishing operations. Following are a number of examples in which HDWFS has provided Real Results for our clients.
Perenco Reaps the Reward of Weatherford's Best-in-Class Heavy-Duty Wireline Fishing Services Lost tools and wire were left in the well after three failed fishing attempts back in 1990. The well’s condition was allowed to remain and produce until intervention was necessary. Weatherford was given the chance to recover the debris and return the well to a safe state. Our experience and equipment were the key to a safe, cost-saving and timely success for the client.
Recovery of CT BHA and Inflatable Packer Assembly During operations to set an inflatable packer, the bottomhole assembly (BHA) and packer were unrecoverable with the CT. The CT was cut about 120 ft (37 m) above the BHA. With the Weatherford HDWFS, the entire fish was recovered in two runs. Weatherford HDWFS Gets Job Done After Three Weeks of Unsuccessful Drilling and CT Attempts After three weeks and a loss of about £100,000, a French operator called on Weatherford's Petroline HDWFS group for assistance. The recovery of wire, tools and a Baker AF plug was a success in the first attempt, saving the client significant costs. With Weatherford's experience, the manpower requirement was minimized, greatly reducing safety risks and saving costs for our client.
Recovery of CT BHA and 3.688-in. Plug After numerous attempts with slickline, 3/16-in. braided cable and CT to recover a 3.688-in. wireline plug set at 13,500 ft (4,115 m), the HDWFS service was mobilized to recover the CT BHA and plug in two runs.

Weatherford HDWFS Performs Successful Cleanout of Highly Deviated Well Offshore California A major operator in the offshore California arena called on Weatherford to remove debris left in the hole after a prior operation and prepare the well for future intervention operations. Experience and the proper equipment allowed Weatherford to quickly and efficiently clean the well for future operations. The client also realized increased production that quickly offset the cleanout costs.
Recovery of Multi-Wireline Tool Strings and Wire During well intervention operations, slickline tool strings, cutter bars, weight bars, and three separate wireline strings were lost in the production wellbore. The HDWFS was mobilized and recovered all the tool strings, slickline and cutter and weight bars.
HDWFS Exceeds Shell UK's Initial Performance Targets in High-End Subsea Well Intervention Campaign Major operational time and cost savings to the client were seen when Weatherford completed well intervention operations in the first attempt. Weatherford's operational experience minimized rig-up, rig-down and man-riding operations—a major safety benefit to the client.
Recovery of Slickline Tool Strings, Slickline and Braided Cable During wireline intervention operations to change out gas-lift valves, 9,000 ft (2,743 m) of 0.108-in. slickline tool string and cutter and weight bars were lost in the well. Remedial fishing operations, using 7/32-in. braided cable, resulted in 6,500 ft (1,981 m) of 7/32-in. cable, plus cutter and weight bars, also being left in the wellbore. The HDWFS was mobilized for successful recovery of all braided and slickline wire, cutter and weight bars, and tool strings.
HDWFS Eliminates Need for Snubbing Unit, Saves Operator 6 Days and $200,000 The operator of a gas-producing land well was challenged with removal of a 92-ft (28-m) fish under hazardous well conditions. Use of a snubbing unit would be time consuming and dangerous. Weatherford’s HDWFS was used to successfully retrieve the fish, saving the operator six days and an estimated US$200,000. This solution avoided the hazards of running a snubbing unit and gave the operator more time to rerun a different packer and complete the well sooner.

Wireline Units and Power Packs
Weatherford Petroline specialized fishing tool packages can be tailored to meet specific well program requirements. Having a well-specific fishing tool package on standby during planned workovers, completions, perforating programs and high-end well interventions against either rig time or production shutdown would provide a major cost saving. The cost of mobilizing a fishing package would be saved as well, as the equipment to complete the well-specific fishing operation would already be on location. The fishing specialist would be mobilized the same day. The wireline units and power packs supplied through the Weatherford Petroline HDWFS fall into two categories of packages: standard and modular. Standard Heavy-Duty Wireline Fishing Package The standard HDWFS 5/16-in. unit consists of — Hydraulically operated wireline winch with 25,000 ft of 5/16-in. Dyform stranded cable. The winch can pull 16,000 lb (7,257 kg). — Zone II diesel power pack 6-cylinder Ford 2725E, complete with Pyroban™* shutdown system and certified to CNV/BP 200 specification.
Modular Heavy-Duty Wireline Fishing Package The modular fishing package consists of three separate modules: — Control cab/Zone II power pack module — Dual-drum module, complete with 30,000 ft (9,144 m) of 1/4-in. braided cable and 30,000 ft of 1/8-in. slickline — Single-drum module, complete with 30,000 ft of 5/16-in. Dyform stranded cable Operations in the U.S. currently offer three types of modular units, all of which are ASEP closed-loop hydraulics. Two of those are Zoned II certified. — Two are triple-drum units with 1/8-in. slickline, 1/4-in. Dyform and 5/16-in. Dyform fishing lines. — One is a single-drum unit with 40,000 ft (12,192 m) of 5/16-in. Dyform fishing line. A spare drum package is also equipped with 40,000 ft of line. The main benefit of a modular system is the reduction in the weight of each module in relation to the standard HDWFS 5/16-in. winch and power pack. A lower-weight fishing package can be used on platforms with limited lifting capability.

Premium Petroline 2 11/16-in. Tool String
One of the key advantages of the Weatherford Petroline HDWFS is our ability to design and tailor tool strings for optimal performance, regardless of application. While the cable provides the ability to generate sufficient pull with the wireline winch, the tool string design optimizes the downhole impact forces. Original development of the HDWFS included the creation of a heavy-duty 2 11/16-in. tool string designed to withstand the increased pull capabilities of the 5/16-in. Dyform strand and generate forces not achievable with standard tool string equipment. The key to the tool string design was the 2 11/16-in. adjustable upstroke jar and matched accelerator subs. Depending on well conditions, this combination can generate 150,000 lbf. In addition to the 2 11/16-in. heavy-duty tool string, high-performance fishing tool strings can be supplied in any size from 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 in., and accessories are supplied according to the application.
Two-Piece Rope Socket (2-11/16 in.) Originally designed for use with the Petroline HDWFS, and used with braided well service cables, the two-piece rope socket uses a shear pin, which acts as a predetermined weak point. Should the tool string become stuck downhole, a sustained overpull shears the pin, allowing retrieval of the upper section of the rope socket, which exposes a clean fishing neck.
Wireline Stem (2-11/16 in.) When wireline toolsare being lowered into the wellbore, the wireline stem provides the weight required to overcome the well pressure working against the wire. This mass is also used to generate impact force in downhole jarring operations. The stem is available from 1- to 3-in. OD with a variety of fishing neck sizes, lengths and connections.

Premium Petroline 2 11/16-in. Tool String
Knuckle Joint (2-11/16 in.) Knuckle joints provide flexibility in wireline tool strings. They are available in a variety of designs but have traditionally been regarded as a weak link in the tool string. The Petroline knuckle joint addresses this problem. The hemispherical bearing surface of the Petroline knuckle joint takes all the compressive load generated by downward jarring, reducing by 50 percent the fatigue factors commonly seen in other knuckle joints. High-quality design and extensive testing significantly increase strength and working life over comparable products.
Accelerator Sub (2-11/16 in.) The Petroline accelerator sub was first designed to augment the performance of the Petroline adjustable upstroke jar (PAJ) and uses disk springs rather than conventional helical springs. The disk springs offer a number of performance advantages. Although usually run only when jarring near surface, the accelerator sub significantly improves the effectiveness of all types of power jars at depth. By storing energy when an overpull is taken and then releasing this energy at the point at which the jar fires, the mass of the stem on the tool string is accelerated up to the point of impact and increases the force generated. As well as increasing the jarring forces, the accelerator sub acts as a shock absorber, protecting the rope socket when jarring at shallow depths. Knuckle Joint
Accelerator Sub
Adjustable Upstroke Jar (2-11/16 in.) The Petroline adjustable upstroke jar (PAJ) was introduced in response to an industry demand for higher downhole impact forces. The original power jars used a hydraulic bypass system to create an instantaneous release of wire tension, resulting in an upward impact (jar); however, the effective stroke of these jars limited the impacts available, and the tendency for seal failure during prolonged use often resulted in serious downhole problems if the jar gased up. The use of a fully adjustable stack of disk-spring washers enables the function of a hydraulic jar to be simulated without the associated risk. The jar stroke has been lengthened to improve impact force by up to 300 percent over that of hydraulic jars. These quantifiable improvements, combined with the rugged construction of the jar, have made the PAJ the first choice for operators and service companies worldwide. On minimum settings the jar when used in conjunction with matched accelerator subs can be set to fire from 3,000- to 8,000-lb overpull. On the minimum settings this corresponds to approximately 60,000 lb of impact force, depending on well conditions, at maximum setting impact forces in excess of 150,000 lb are achievable.

Premium Petroline 2 11/16-in. Tool String
Jar Accessories (2-11/16 in.) The hydraulic calibration sub, used to set up the PAJ or EAJ, allows full surface testing of the jar before running in the well. The mechanical calibration key is used to set up the PAJ.
High-Deviation Tubular Jar (2-11/16 in.) Current-generation power jars provide an enhanced upward jarring action at an especially high angle; however, at high angles the use of a Spang-style mechanical jar often results in poor jar action downhole and poor jar visibility at the surface. The Petroline high-deviation tubular jar (HDTJ) fills the need for a reliable high-angle mechanical jar. The following features distinguish the HDTJ: — Robust ball races to reduce jar friction. — Full-diameter jar rod provides high tensile rating. — Water-jet-cut slots eliminate hydraulic damping effects. — Debris ingress to jar body is prevented. — The jar is compatible with Petroline power jars. The response from users of the HDTJ is excellent, with the jar action described as superb.

Heavy-Duty Tubular Jar (2-11/16 in.)
The tubular jar is designed to deliver impact forces, either upward or downward, in the manner of a Spang-type jar. It is usually used for fishing operations or when well conditions have had an adverse effect on conventional Spang jars. The primary benefit when fishing is that loose wire debris in the well is much less likely to impede the operation of the tubular jar; and occasionally, under certain well conditions, the greater rigidity of the design can improve impact forces. The design incorporates fluid bypass holes in the body to optimize the velocity of the anvil to impact and is based on the Petroline PAJ to withstand extremely highimpact forces.

Quick-Lock System The quick-lock system (QLS) replaces traditional sucker rod tool string connections, greatly reducing tool string makeup and breakout times. More significantly, use of QLS connections removes a safety hazard from the operation, as it eliminates the need for wrenches in making up tool strings.
Rope Socket (Bowen®* Type) The Bowen rope socket is designed for use with braided well servicing cable, usually from 3/16- to 5/16-in. OD. An industry standard with a proven track record, the use of variable cutter slips allows the wire to be cut at the rope socket should the tool string become stuck downhole. As standard, slips are available to cut 50 to 80 percent of full tensile wire strength.
Rope Socket (Pear-Drop Type) Quick-Lock System
Rope Socket (Bowen Type)
The rope socket is a conventional slickline type, using a brass wedge (pear drop) to attach the wire to the rope socket and thereby the tool string. Standard rope socket sizes range from 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 in., and other sizes are available on request.
Roller Stem The roller stem is used in higher-deviation wells to minimize tool friction on the tubing wall by providing rolling contact. With a unique design, the Petroline roller stem offers a number of benefits over traditional roller stems: — Rollers incorporate phosphor bronze wear bushings to reduce friction and minimize binding caused by corrosion. — Welded pins offer much higher retention security. — Geometric spiral of rollers ensures full, rather than edge, contact of rollers and improves performance. — Minimal roller projection outside of body OD reduces leverage across pins when restrictions are hit downhole, thereby reducing possibility of pin failure. — GSM Nylatron** roller versions available, suited to operation in plastic-coated tubulars.

Heavy-Duty Swivel The heavy-duty swivel is designed to ensure free rotation of downhole wireline assemblies, even when the tool string is held in significant tension. Using frictionreducing beryllium copper inserts, the swivel rotates freely under as much as a 2,000-lb (907-kg) load. Also capable of withstanding high-impact forces, the heavy-duty swivel is suitable for use with the latest generation of high-impact jars. The swivel prevents build-up of torque in the tool string, thereby significantly minimizing the risk of damage to the wireline or well service strand.
Hydro-Mechanical Jar The hydro-mechanical jar is used to deliver a controlled upward impact force. The jar incorporates the versatility of the traditional hydraulic jar without problems of gas infiltration inherent with the traditional jar. Being hydraulically controlled, the jar does not have to be pre-set or calibrated before use.
Easy-Adjust Jar The easy-adjust jar (EAJ) is used where extreme jarring performance is required. The EAJ provides an even greater impact force than the adjustable upstroke jar (standard PAJ) and is especially suited to jarring in highly deviated wells. Impact force can be adjusted without removing the EAJ from the tool string load.

Petroline Adjustable Upstroke Jar The Petroline adjustable upstroke jar (PAJ) was introduced in response to an industry demand for higher downhole impact forces. The original power jars used a hydraulic bypass system to create an instantaneous release of wire tension, resulting in an upward impact (jar); however, the effective stroke of these jars limited the impacts available, and the tendency for seal failure during prolonged use often resulted in serious downhole problems if the jar gassed up. Using a stack of disk-spring washers, which is fully adjustable, provides the ability to simulate the function of a hydraulic jar without the associated risk. The jar stroke has been lengthened to improve impact force by up to 300 percent over that of hydraulic jars. These quantifiable improvements, combined with the rugged construction of the jar, have made the PAJ the first choice for operators and service companies worldwide.

Accelerator Sub
High-Deviation Tubular Jar
Accelerator Sub
The Petroline accelerator sub was first designed to augment the performance of the Petroline adjustable jar (PAJ) and uses disk springs rather than conventional helical springs.
Jar Accessories The hydraulic calibration sub, used to set up the PAJ or EAJ, allows full surface testing of the jar before running in the well. The mechanical calibration key is used to set up the PAJ.
Spring Roller Centralizer Designed to meet the increasing need for devices that improve wireline operations in high-angle wells, the spring roller centralizer (SRC) has already been widely used in wells of more than 80° of deviation. Strategically positioned in the wireline tool string, SRCs provide complete rolling contact with the tubing wall to remove all sliding forces and provide the following advantages: — Vastly improved high-angle well servicing — Increased jarring capability — Reduced damage to plastic-coated tubulars — Improved centralization

Fishing Tools
Heavy-Duty Releasable Overshot An understanding of the functional requirements of fishing equipment resulted in the development of the Petroline heavy-duty releasable overshot. The overshot has been designed to withstand the jarring forces of even the most difficult fishing operations. It is manufactured to the highest standards and is the most robust overshot on the market today. The Petroline overshot, unlike most others, provides the option of releasing from the fish at will. The tool is easily released by downward jarring until the pin shears, allowing the top sub mandrel to move downward and latch the top of the slip mandrel. From an operational point of view, the Petroline overshot is of simple design, with no complex components. No special tools are required for dismantling or reassembling, and the tool requires minimal maintenance. The overshot is available in a full range of sizes with a complementary slip range.
Petroline Heavy-Duty Pulling Tool The heavy-duty pulling tool (HDPT) was the first tool specifically designed for use with the Petroline adjustable jar to withstand high-impact jarring forces. Conventional pulling tools have between two and four latching dogs which, when subjected to impact forces, tend either to damage the fishing neck or, in the worst case, to shear off. The HDPT has a 320° circumference latch mechanism, which spreads any load evenly around the fishing neck. This feature, combined with robust construction and a fully encapsulated housing, gives a five-fold strength increase over conventional tools and minimizes wear and damage to the fishing neck.

Heavy-Duty Releasable Spear The heavy-duty releasable spear is designed to engage the internal bore of a downhole device that does not have a serviceable fishing neck while providing the facility to shear off and retrieve the spear to surface when required. This capability is particularly necessary when attempting to retrieve a fish that, if not recovered, may have to be pumped or flowed through at a later stage. Unlike similar devices the Petroline releasable spear is designed to withstand high-impact jarring operations. This feature, combined with the design of the release mechanism, makes this device a much more reliable option than conventional alternatives. Proven in use with the HDWFS, it is available in a wide variety of engagement sizes and reaches.

DU Pulling Tool The DU pulling tool was designed to overcome the limitations of conventional pulling tools. Retrieval of devices with internal fishing necks can require upward and downward jarring. With conventional GR- or GS-type tools, two-way jarring can result in premature shearing of the shear pin; but the DU pulling tool allows reliable bi-directional jarring with several advantages: — Initial downward jarring will not shear out the DU. — Subsequent upward jarring can be applied without shearing out the DU. — Final downward jarring will shear the release pin allowing retrieval of the DU. The DU design allows shear-out even when debris prevents the tool from shouldering out on the fishing neck. With standard GR/GS designs, this scenario could result in an expensive fishing operation.
Heavy-Duty GS The heavy-duty GS is a pulling tool for internal fishing necks. Based on the standard GS, the heavy-duty GS has more keys for increased bearing area and a more robust core for increased strength. The heavy-duty GS is a successful, proven addition to Weatherford's heavy-duty fishing services.

Indexing Tool The Weatherford® indexing tool allows 360° rotation of fishing tools as required. The rotation is achieved by means of an indexing shoe and a J-slot mechanism, activated by manipulation of the wireline string. The indexing tool can be used for offset fishing operations or for rotating muleshoe guides.
Bulldog Spear The bulldog spear is a simple internal grapple used for retrieving debris without a suitable fishing neck. Its simple design makes the spear cost effective and reliable. The bulldog spear is available with a 5- to 7-in. engagement. If the inability of the bulldog spear to release might compromise the operation, select a releasable spear.

Releasable Alligator Grab The releasable alligator grab was developed to address the performance limitations of existing devices of its kind. A number of improvements were made, resulting in a reliable tool for retrieval of loose debris or junk from a wellbore, even at depth in high deviation. — When the releasable alligator grab is in the run position, a small pin must be sheared before the tool can be activated. A fairly light downward jarring will shear the pin when junk is located without prematurely activating the tool when ID restrictions are encountered in the wellbore. — The releasable alligator grab also features a special safety release. If the debris is not retrievable, upward jarring shears a release pin, allowing the grab to disengage. Both of these features are further enhanced by the adjustable spring rating, which determines how much force is generated when activated. Custom jaws can be supplied on request.
Bell Guide The bell guide is attached by threads to the skirts of pulling tools/overshots to assist in latching the fishing neck/OD of the device to be retrieved. Bell guides are available in a variety of sizes and designs to suit specific applications.

Reverse-taper completions present one major risk during any wireline operation: breaking the wire in the large-bore tubing. Should breakage occur, a conventional wirefinder is very likely to miss the top of the wire, become entangled and necessitate a workover. The solution is a Petroline expandable wirefinder. The wirefinder trip sub (WTS) is used instead of a conventional crossover from the small-bore to the large-bore tubing. The WTS features a controlled taper profile, which is designed to suit the trip keys on the expandable wirefinder. This feature minimizes any bearing forces within the wirefinder mechanism and maximizes the reliability of the tool. A WTS can be supplied to suit any tubing crossover combination and any premium thread type. In combination with the expandable wirefinder, the WTS represents very low-cost insurance against potential workovers in reverse-taper completions.

Expandable Wirefinder The expandable wirefinder is used in reverse-taper completions in which larger-ID tubing (for example, 7 in.) is run below smaller-ID tubing (for example, 5-1/2 in.). In such completions, fishing broken wire with conventional finders can be problematic. The expandable wirefinder is run through the smaller-ID tubing section and on through the crossover to the larger-ID section below. The tool is then pulled back to the tubing crossover. At this point the expandable finder is tripped on the crossover. The expandable finder fingers are then pushed by a spring from the tool body and contact the ID of the larger tubing section below. Normal wire-finding operations can then proceed. On retrieval back into the smaller-ID tubing section, the finder fingers collapse back into the tool body. Also available is an alternative version of the expandable wirefinder, which trips by downward jarring against a no-go in the completion.
Wireline Finder/Grab

Expandable Wirefinder
Wireline Finder/Grab
The finder/grab is used in the same manner as a conventional wireline grab to retrieve broken wire downhole; however, the addition of a wireline finder skirt offers a number of benefits. The finder/grab combination negates the need for separate wireline finder and wireline grab runs, thereby significantly reducing the overall number of wireline runs needed. And the possibility of passing the top of the wire is significantly reduced, compared with a conventional wireline grab. Wireline finders of various sizes can be supplied for the different grab sizes. The wireline finder spear is used when the finder/grab cannot retrieve the wire. It releases or retrieves balls or wire that have become stuck in the wellbore and are tightly bound together. The spear penetrates the ball of wire and negates the requirement for two runs. Using a finder in conjunction with the spear removes the chance of passing the wire at depth.
Wireline Grab The Petroline wireline grab is usually used to retrieve broken wire from the wellbore and is always run on a pulling tool, hence the rope socket-style top sub. In the event that it latches wire that cannot be retrieved, the grab can be released for changing tool string components or wire type by shearing the pulling tool. Manufactured from solid tube, the Petroline wireline grab is exceptionally robust. This quality, combined with certified welding of the barbs, makes the grab suitable for the heaviest fishing operations.

Wireline Retriever The wireline retriever is used for recovering cut or broken single-strand slicklines or small-diameter braided lines. As the wireline retriever is lowered into the wellbore, the well fluid and friction cause the skirt to ride up in the mandrel, exposing the cone and opening between the cone and the skirt. When the tool contacts the broken line, the line passes between the skirt and the cone. The outer skirt then moves down, trapping the wire between cone and cylinder. Wire is then recovered to surface.
Shear-Release Sub The shear-release sub is run in conjunction with the 2 11/16-in. QLS tool string, and offers a backup release option. The shear-release sub can be used to locate fish or to deploy flow-control items. The parting of the shear-release sub leaves a 1.750-in. external rope socket.
Heavy-Duty Replacement Fishing Neck The heavy-duty replacement fishing neck is designed to replace damaged external fishing necks. It is a permanent replacement that allows use of the Petroline HDPT for tool string recovery.

The ball-assisted lead impression block (LIB) is designed to identify and provide accurate information about the position of the wellbore obstruction. The ball is free to move within the copper mandrel. When the tool contacts the fish, it makes an imprint on the low side of the internal lead block. The tool string is based on the accurate impression information drawn from measuring the angle between both impressions.

Lead Impression Block The lead impression block (LIB) is used mainly in fishing operations to identify what is uppermost on the fish. The LIB consists of a steel housing, filled with lead, which is dressed to a very smooth finish before running. When the LIB is on top of the fish, a single downward jar deforms the lead, which can then be interpreted at surface to indicate what is downhole.
Blind Box A blind box is used either to beat down an obstruction encountered in the tubing string or to cut (box off) wire on top of a rope socket during fishing operations. Always ensure that the OD of the tool does not match too closely the ID of any downhole restriction, such as a landing nipple, as the lack of fluid bypass through the tool can cause sticking problems.
Magnet Magnets are used for retrieving loose metallic debris from the wellbore and are available in a number of standard sizes. High-performance magnets are also available for special applications. Lead Impression Block

Dump Bailer The dump bailer is used to spot chemicals, such as acid, downhole. The tool locates on top of a pre-set lock mandrel. Downward jarring shears the retaining pins and allows release of the chemical from the chamber. One of several variations of this tool is a dump bailer that locates on top of a wireline-retrievable safety valve and seals inside the flow tube of the valve. This tool is used to remove scale from the valve, which would otherwise have to be retrieved and changed out.
Pump (Sand) Bailer The sand bailer is used to clear debris from the wellbore, usually when it has settled on top of a flow control device and is preventing retrieval. The sand bailer is available in a number of sizes and operates on the principle of a bicycle pump, with a relief valve in a piston. When the sand bailer is stroked, it sucks in debris from the bottom, which incorporates a ball- or flapper-type check valve to retain the solids. Extension tubes can be provided for high-volume bailing operations, and alternative bottom subs are available for specific applications.
Hydrostatic Bailer The hydrostatic bailer is used mainly for clearing compacted debris from the wellbore, usually from the top of a flow-control device. The hydrostatic bailer is typically used if a pump bailer (sand bailer) has proved to be ineffective. The upper section of the tool is a sealed chamber at atmospheric pressure, with a shearable piston at the longer end. Downward jarring releases the piston, which is forced upward by the influx of well pressure drawing in any debris below the tool. The debris is then retained by a ball- or flapper-type check valve to allow retrieval to the surface.

3-in. Downward Tubular Jar The 3-in. downward tubular jar is run in conjunction with a 10- to 20-ft (3- to 6-m) section of 3-in. stem. The downward jar is used to dislodge an obstruction in the wellbore, to clear well debris and scale and to apply extreme wireline downward force if required. A 1-in. steel shear pin can be sheared at surface ( test mast ) with one downward stroke of the toolstring with only one section of 3-in. stem and 3-in. downward jar, pin strength over two faces approximately 60,000 lbs.
