HE 1 This course deals with an introduction to the concept of industrial arts. It includes discussions on technology, its evolution, utilization and significance; with industry, its organization, materials, occupations, processes and products; and with  problems and benefits resulting from the technological nature of soci society. ety. The student will be required to learn and apply all shop safety rules as they pertain to each machine or process. The student’s knowledge and understanding of these rules will be evaluated on a written test and the student must show 100% accuracy before beginning work in the lab. The student may be required to monitor the production process in a leadership role. The student will be required to keep and maintain a working binder of class materials. These materials, which will  be graded every quarter, will be listed later. The student will be required to demonstrate their understanding of the covered material by designing, building and completing a project of their choice.
