ACKNOWLEDGMENT We have great pleasure in presenting this project report On ‘GYM MANAGEMENT SYSTEM’ as part of the software engineering. It is always a difficult task to acknowledge to those who have been of tremendous help in an academic project of this nature. I would like to thank to my college for providing the required magazines, books & access to the internet for collecting all information related to project. I am also thankful to Prof. RUPALI WAGH for their able guidance, which were indispensible in the completion of this project. I am also thankful to all professors in the computer science department. I am also thankful to the “ GOLD GYM” for give us this opportunity to do the project work in the organization. Finally, I am also grateful to my friends for their valuable comments & suggestions. Last but not least I thank to all those who helped me directly or indirectly in completing this project work.

COMPANY PROFILE Introduction: A gym is a place where people (Men and women) take admissions to carry out programs to keep their body fit and in a good shape. It is a place where people can do workouts (regular or rigorous). A gym provides artificial ways to give exercise to the human body . Every gym has multiple schemes depending on what a person’s body needs .

Schemes like :      

Cardiology Power yoga Aerobics Equipment program Sauna bath Health supplements

Diet programs  Medical

 Every scheme has a different rate as per the equipments utilized and cost of resources required. Scheme charges are applied in a quarterly (3 months) or yearly basis. Also in some gymnasiums they provide personal trainers and or personal dietitian.

 The charges are added as per the customers choice of schemes and requirement of a personal trainer and diet programs.

 Need for Gym Management System:  A Gym Management System is required for the following reasons:1 2 3 4 5 6 7

To maintain all the records of customer and employee in a systematic way. To keep the instrument details. Save the physical work of records handling. Use of Technology instead of human power to reduce errors. To maintain the scheme wise customer details. To maintain records of bills and also the customer’s health details. To maintain all the records of employee and his salary details.

SYSTEM ANALYSIS

PROBLEM DEFINATION Problem statement is one of the basic and important phases of project phase. When the basic problem is determined, it is documented and the symptomatic problem is analyzed, then the current list of basic problem is completed. A system is simply a set of components that interact to accomplish some purpose. The present system is totally handled manually, but its time consuming . It affects factors like time, cost, manpower etc. Present system is not computerized, it is manual .In this manual system we have to do all work by hand which is very tedious job. The supplier here supply the requirements as per detail given by gym. Also the supplier here are the supply their materials. To make the system we have maintain both records of customer, tools, items and supplier in different record receipt book. If any updating to any record is required we have to search the record if exists then update it there or create the same record at end which is time consuming. If any requirement is there from any customer we have search the required customer if it exits then for this we have to go through all customer's record matching his id, name, this takes more time. Then the required customer gives detail for their requirements. If there are many same customers for the same requirements then all should be send reports at the same time.

finally we have to prepare bill for the selected customer. If there are more than hundreds of records then the system requires lots of time and effort's to run the system successfully.

Objective of System  Manual operating of the current system is having difficult. Normally in the gym records are kept in Journal.  It is very tedious job to keep the record of many gym members. Difficult for anyone to remember details of each item i.e. tool (whether available or not) and maintaining them.  Due to manual work generation of report are to be delayed.  It is very difficult task to make updating in store data.So we decides to make the system which keep all record of gym which as number of gym member , courses available in gym, fees of course, fees paid by member, tools available in gym etc.

Scope of System  Easy to maintain tool details, time saving for owner as well as member, efficient traceability, user friendly.

data modification can do easily, easy maintenance, data is secure, less time consuming.

The system will provide timely information and status of the various activities to manage, to facilitate the user of the system.

Thus, it is concluded that the system is technically, economically and operationally feasible.

Existing System Manual operating of the current system is having certain drawbacks. Those are:

1. Difficult for anyone to remember details of each item i.e. tool (whether available or not) and maintaining them

2. Due to manual work generation of report are to be delayed.

3. Sometimes failing to fulfill the customer’s requirement.

4. Time consuming for owner and customer.

5. Lot of paper work.

6. It is very difficult task to make updation in store data .

Proposed System Our proposed system will help a lot to reduce the drawbacks as mentioned earlier with the existing system. It is advantageous in numerous ways. Some of its advantages are: 1. Easy to maintain tool detail

2. Time saving for owner as well as customer.

3. Efficient tracebility.

4. User Friendly.

5. Data modification can done easily.

6. Easy maintainance. 7. Data is secure. 8. Less time consuming.

REQUIEMENT ANALYSIS

Feasibility Study

The Feasibility Study is the one that lets our proposed work to put into real action. This relates with whether our system performance is best or not, it worth’s or not, etc. It actually points to whether the user requirements are getting fulfilled or not. We are having three different feasibility types for the feasibility study as follows: 1) Technical Feasibility: If the system processes huge amount of data then theSystem is technically feasible. 2) Economic Feasibility: Automation leads to cost reduction and beneficial to cost analysis of the system.Economically, the firm is capable of purchasing the required setup.Automation results in the reduction of manpower and processing time.

3.Operational Feasibility: Will the system be used if it developed and implemented ? Willthere be a resistance from the user to the new system. The system will provide timely information and status of the various activities to manage, to facilitate the user of the system. Thus, it is concluded that the system is technically, economically and operationally feasible.

 Hardware Requirements :Intel Pentium IV or Higher processor 1.80 GHz 128 MB of RAM

 Software Requirements :O.S – Windows 98/XP (With Screen Resolution 1024x768) Microsoft Access.

Conclusion

1) Existing system was not adequate as all the day processing as it is manual.

2) From our proposed system it can be seen that it will be possible to meet our objective for the system.

3) System developed by us is efficient to handle most of tedious task with good accuracy and fast processing.
