PURPOSE

The purpose of this standard is to define the rules for marking of RENAULT parts and common parts codeveloped in cooperation with its partners. It describes marking rules r ules for original parts, it is declined for each project, and it also present presents s marking rules for after sales parts. It deals with the physical marking of parts and also includes recommendations relating to the labeling of parts when the physical marking is not possible. The standard defines principles and rules for physical marking of the vehicle constituent parts, built or not in cooperation with a partner. These principles and rules supersede all standards and requirements specification dealing marking product in complement of some specific marking. These rules describe marking method in order to protect our brands, combat counterfeiting of all parts particularly after-sales parts, and most commonly parts whose counterfeiting could jeopardize the safety of the user. The standard is used to:

Identify RENAULT parts, of its suppliers and of its partners,

Protect itself against replacement parts counterfeiting,

Ensure parts tracking through sales network.

Generally, common marking rules use the principles defined in the standard 00-10-415 « Manufacture and supply of products – General requirements ». 1.1Common marking rules were described to mark the following items:

a- first: systematic - Part Number; - Logotype; - Certification number; - CCC logotype (China Compulsory Certification); - day, month and year of manufacture. b- secondary: According to products - Part index; - Electric, hydraulic or pneumatic equipment; - Information related to tools; - Material; - Symmetry; - manufacturing code; - ITG code (Warranty of Technical Intervention).  Any requirement related to the addition m marking arking not existing on the list must be discussed between the project managers of the partner/supplier and Renault.

DEFINITIONS

Carry-Over Part:  A part already used in connection with a prev previous ious project. Specific Part:  A part used on vehicle from f rom one of the partners only. Specific parts may include identity brand parts or parts designed according specific constraints on a vehicle. Common Part:  A part used at least on one vehicle vehicle for either one project partner. New Pa Part rt : Part developed for the project (neither carry-over Renault nor carry-over of the partner). The project team will specify the nature of the new part. Visible Part:  A part where marking is visible for f or the end customer during normal use of the vehicle. A generic list of user functions is provided in Appendix B1, in order to determine if a part is visible on a vehicle. Each Project Manager or Director shall draw up an exhaustive list of these references in agreement with aftersales service. An example of references list is given in Appendix A1. Competitive Part:  A part often modified in after-sales. The list of these parts has been established established and is given in

Appendix B2. Interchangeability: The set of rules for evolution and part numbering is defined in the standard 00-10-014 « Modification parts interchangeability ». In particular, it indicates: “  A A product, part or assembly is not interchangeable with with the part it must replace if the modifi modification cation concerns one of the following items:  - the modified item cannot be fitted to vehicles, units and/or platform originally fitted with the nonmodified item or vice versa…”

To illustrate, replacing RENAULT logotype with EGEUS or DXC or DXC EGEUS logotype and/or CCC marking on Common Part or Carry-Over part will absolutely be subject to a new part numbering and not  just a revision level.  Any evolution of a marking on a part that makes it non-interchangeable requires a new reference (example: EGEUS CCC). 3.

INDICATIONS TO BE MENTIONED ON THE DRAWING

It is forbidden to produce part, mounted on Renault Group vehicles, without marking one of the RENAULT brand, unless technically impossible. The partner cannot ask for the withdrawal of one of the RENAULT brand. The position of the marking shall be mentioned on the drawing by framed dimensions and in strong mixed lines, as below : ZONE DE MARQUAGE MARKING ZONE

If marking cannot be completely or partially mentioned on the part, the mention “PIECE NON MARQUEE  – UNMARKED PART” PART” or the nature of the missing information must be specified in an additional nota.

The marking size must be mentioned in the drawing inside the note or inside the marking zone. The marks that appear on the parts must be either embossed or recessed, or by an unalterable marking.  A label is not allowed allowed except in case of impossibility related to the geometry or ty type pe of material of the part.  4.

METHOD AND WRITING

The marking must be readable without assistance and easy to find according to the standard 00-10-415 "Realization and Supply of Products - General Requirements". The method used imposes permanent and indelible marking.   5.

TYPOLOGY OF STANDARDIZED STANDARDIZED MARKING

The logotype must be visible and identified on the plan according to its location on the part.  part.   If it is technically impossible or in case of a limited location not allowing to identify the marking, a note to the drawing is required to justify its lack. 5.1.RENAULT

OFFICIAL LOGOTYPE : TYPE 1

Type 1 logotype has priority over type 2 logotype. This marking can be inscribed horizontally (as in pattern below) or vertically.

5.2.SIMPLIFIED

EMBLEM (DIAMOND): TYPE 2

This type 2 logotype is to be used instead of the type 1 logotype when the space is insufficient. The use of both Type 1 and 2 sets is allowed.

PARTNER PARTNERSHIP SHIP

In partnership with Daimler, the DXC EGEUS logotypes are used as anonymous marking. In the case of a small location not allowing both logotypes to be applied, the DXC mark applies by default. The two logotypes should preferably be positioned on the same line. The EGEUS mark will have the same height of characters as DXC. Normalized heights are defined in the standard MBN 33 036.  Authorized cases in order order of priority: 1)

2)

3)

4)

The DXC logotype is defined in the standard DAIMLER MBN 33 036 "Identification of Shared Components within the Group with Trade Mark and Basic Number". The archiving reference in NewPDM is: OCIC593424.

5.5.LOGOTYPES

●B  : The design engineer will study in this order: B1  - the possibility of hiding the specific logotype. Nevertheless, the designer will ensure that the approval number for the regulated parts remains visible. For constraints related to the need for counterfeit checks, even if the logotype is hidden from the customer, it must nevertheless remain visible when the part is not fitted to the vehicle.

NOTE : The Renault logotype on the battery will be hidden by sticking a label. B2  - the possibility of multiple markings (co-branding). This case can be used if all partners are in agreement to associate their respective logotypes, whether they are known or anonymous. B3  - the possibility of using an anonymous marking if none of the previous solutions is applicable, after agreement of all customers of the part.

The anonymous logotype can be: - for DAI partnerships: DXC EGEUS, except in special cases that should be specified by each project; - for non-DAI partnerships: EGEUS logotype, logotype, EGEUS xx (according to contract with the partner). ●C :

DATE OF MANUFACTURING

In accordance with 00-10-415 standard, the day, month and year of manufacture at least will appear on the part. If necessary and according with coding system used, explanations on the drawing will provide a good interpretation of the marking. Specific system: When the plant uses the Stratus tracking system for stamping, it is possible to delete the physical manufacturing date marking or the batch number on the bodywork parts. This specificity is only applied on stamped parts in internal Renault plants. Other information must however be marked (reference number, level, Renault logotype…).   Important: For all parts thethe chassis perimeter if the production volume the parts is important, it is necessary to specify the team andof/ or production line according to the codes ofof the production line. 13.
