Group Guidance Program Developed by Samuel B. Batara

General Objectives Group guidance is just a fraction of the entire Guidance Program. It can, however, serve the following purposes: 1. To organize groupings among faculty and students that will pursue research, study, and discussion on subjects and pursuits of common interest; 2. To provide factual sources for the discussion of growth and development concerns peculiar to the group; 3. To stimulate student’s thoughts about his biological, psychological and sociological worlds, and to provide a forum for the sharing of such thoughts; 4. To promote member cooperation, the planning and attainment of group goals and group unity as well as individual development; 5. To facilitate open communication and interaction that center upon current concerns and interests of group members; 6. To develop leadership roles and responsibilities among group members; 7. To disseminate information that will assist students to make effective use of the school environment and develop a strategy for the attainment of long-term educational and vocational goals; and 8. To orient the students to the availability of guidance services and other growth opportunities. FIRST SESSION: ACQUAINTANCE AND ORIENTATION Specific Objectives Activities/Discussion Topics Through the session, students ENCOUNTER a. Familiarize with each other by name, A.
