ABSTRACT

Tracking GPS Enabled Devices Tracking living beings and devices has become prevalent and indispensable. Ma ny times various valuable things such as mobiles, PDAs are lost or they are misplaced. Sometimes things like cars or mobiles are stolen. In fleet management, fleet operators m ore often require to track their vehicles. In such cases it is necessary to track such devic es or find out those that carry such devices. For tracking any mobile phones either GPS enabled or without GPS current tech nology can give the information about who might have stolen that device but can’t give th e exact location of the mobile phone. It can give the area of the mobile if and only if the d evice connects to operator’s i.e. SIM card’s network. E.g. of this type of technology curre ntly available is the Samsung tracker technology. In this technology whenever any new s im card is inserted the discrete message about the new sim card is sent to the previously specified numbers. This can give the information about who might have stolen the mobil e phone but can’t give the exact location of the mobile phone. This leads to the uncertainty of getting the device back. Though the current syste m can give area it may possible that after some time thief has ran to some other location. For tracking GPS enabled mobile devices there is not any technology which continuousl y monitors the exact geographical location of the device. Whenever the mobile phones a re lost or stolen there should be the system to track them independent on the operator’s network and the SIM card. The tracking system should give the exact location of such de vices over widespread area. We propose to build a Tracking of GPS enabled devices system. This system is int ended to track family and friends using GPS enabled devices. The system will also track misplaced or stolen mobile devices. This system can work with only GPS enabled device s. In order to track GPS enabled devices, these devices should be powered enough othe rwise the system will not locate them. If the devices are not having communication capa bilities then system can’t track them. GPS tracking system is a tracking system for all GPS enabled devices like mobile phone s, PDA’s etc. Its main objective is to track the lost or misplaced devices which will result i n improved security and safety.
