Nine years after Lilienthal’s first gliding flight succeeded, the Wright brothers achieved the first motorized flight with a 12 HP four-stroke engine. The decision who may fly first won Orville Wright by coin toss. Orville Wright flew just 12 seconds and put a distance of 36 meters back. The engine powered flight was invented.
