HOUSE 1: This House relates primarily to THE QUERENT HIMSELF, including THE QUERENT'S BODY and THE QUERENT'S NAME. This House also relates to ANY VEHICLE IN W HICH THE QUERENT IS TRAVELLING OR IN WHICH HE INTENDS TO TRAVEL. It also c oncerns THE QUERENT'S LOCATION and THE WEATHER IN THE QUERENT'S LOCATION. Finally, it also signifies THE QUERENT'S BODY AS A WHOLE if the question concerns his health and he wants to know what is wrong with him. The whole Wheel Chart, however, may represent the Querent's body, if the question concerns a specific body part and, in that case, this House represents THE HEAD. -- HOUSE 1 AS A DERIVED HOUSE: -- EXAMPLES: Am I ill? Should I change my name? Will my car make it across the country? Is the ship in which I will travel seaworthy? -- NOTES: (a) If the Querent asks about something that he and his spouse plan to do as a couple, the chart may show the couple as House 1 or the Querent as House 1 and the spouse as House 7. (b) The MONEY can be in any form -- stocks, bonds, bank account, currency. (c) House 2 is a CLOSE ADVISOR only i n the matter that governs the subject of the question. Otherwise, lawyers, financial advisors, etc. are House 9 as "learned people." (d) In seeing a figure jump to House 2 for a Conjunction to House 1, you may wonder whether the meanings of House 2 are relevant. They USUALLY ARE NOT. To make a conjunction with House 1, the Holy Mother has only two options for every potential question in existence -- to move the figure to House 2 or House 12. Where the conjuncting figure is in House 2, it does not necessarily mean that money, possessions, etc. must figure in the judgment. Instead, it is often possible to interpret a House 2 conjunction as something COMING SOON, APPROACHING, RIGHT BEFORE THE QUERENT'S EYES, IN HIS POCKET, or ON HIS DOORSTEP. For instance, if the question involved whether Q would reconcile with his estranged mother, and Conjunctio in House 10 jumped to House 2, the judgment would be, "Yes, you will reconcile, and even meet again, soon." House 2's meanings of m oney and possessions would not enter the judgment.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------HOUSE 3: This House represents the querent's SIBLINGS, COUSINS, NEIGHBORS, CLASSMATES, and STUDENTS. It also deals with DAILY JOURNEYS such as a commute to work, DAILY OR COMMONPLACE KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS (such as reading or driving). Similarly, it represents ELEMENTARY SCHOOL or primary educational institutes. Look to this House, too, for LETTERS THAT THE QUERENT HAS SENT OR IS SENDING. It also deals with RUMORS or GOSSIP. In the body, the ARMS, SHOULDERS, and HANDS. -- HOUSE 3 AS A DERIVED HOUSE: -- EXAMPLES: Is the rumor true? Will my neighbors move this year? Has Mr. X received my letter? Will my cousin marry this year? -- NOTES: (a) House 3 governs cousins. There is no need to consider a cousin as the particular child of a sibling of one of your parents. Ex: Father is House 4, Father's sister is House 6 (3rd o f the 4th), and Father's sister's child is House 10 (5th of the 3rd of the 4th). You can usually just take House 3 as the cousin asked about. (b) House 3 governs your commute to work. Even if it is a long commute to work, it does not become House 9. Likewise, visiting a religious shrine that you live very close to is still a House 9 matter because it is like a pilgrimage. (c) A letter you are expecting from another person is House 9 (3rd from the 7th). (d) LETTERS includes EMAILS, TEXTS, TELEPHONE CALLS, and all other forms of COMMUNICATION. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------HOUSE 4: This House signifies the Querent's FATHER, PARENTS IN GENERAL, and ANCESTRY. It also governs immovable property such as HOUSE and LAND. Because it is at the bottom of the chart, it also concerns MINES, THINGS UNDERGROUND, WELLS, BURIED TREASURE, and BASEMENTS. It occasionally shows LOST OBJECTS. In a chart about a court case, the VERDICT. In a chart about illness or a medical condition, the PROGNOSIS. In the body, the CHEST and LUNGS. -- HOUSE 4 AS A DERIVED HOUSE: -- EXAMPLES: Will I sell my house soon? Is the land fruitful? Is my father ill? Can I access well water on my property? -- NOTES: (a) Like movable possessions (House 2), it does not matter what the function of the HOUSE or LAND is. A VACATION HOME is House 4, not House 9 (vacations, holidays). In the body, the LOWER BELLY, BOWELS, and INTESTINES. -- HOUSE 6 AS A DERIVED HOUSE: THE PAR ENTS' SIBLINGS (3rd from the 4th), PATERNAL AUNTS AND UNCLES (3rd from the 4th). -- EXAMPLES: Is my cleaning lady honest? Should I hire the builder? Will my lost cat come home? Should I hire Ms. Z as my employee? -- NOTES: (a) Ignore the modern idea of House 6 showing the querent's job or work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------HOUSE 7: This is the House of the Querent's EMOTIONAL and BUSINESS PARTNERS, including SPOUSES and SWEETHEARTS, even if the relationship is only desired but does not yet exist. This House also includes PEOPLE WITH WHOM WE ARE DOING BUSINESS DEALS, including CUSTOMERS, CLIENTS, THE PUBLIC IN GENERAL. OPEN ENEMIES are found here, such as an opponent in a sporting match, or the opponent in a trial in court. THIEVES are considered open enemies, even if we do not know their identities, because they engage in the openly hostile act of stealing. This is also the House to look at for a TREATING DOCTOR at issue in a medical q uestion. This is the House to look to for ANY OTHER PERSON or A PERSON QUERENT DOES NOT KNOW PERSONALL Y, but whom the question concerns. This House is also for a GENERAL "THERE." In the body, this House is the REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM and the PELVIS. -- HOUSE 7 AS A DERIVED HOUSE: -- EXAMPLES: Will Ms. X go out with me? Where will I meet the man I will marry? Will the Public like my new product? Will I win my lawsuit? Should I move from here to there?

-- NOTES: (a) If the question concerns moving from "here" to "there", take House 1 as the present location, and House 7 as the other place being considered. (b) THE SPOUSE AND THE AFFAIR: Some questions may involve a Q, a spouse, and then a person with whom the Q is having an extramarital affair. Q will get H ouse 1, naturally. House 7 will show either the spouse or the "other person," but there are no easy rules to determine which one. We need to use our powers of mental analysis and read the chart and see what it is telling us, as the spouse and the "other person" could be shown in d ifferent ways. House 7 could be EITHER the spouse or the "other person." It will definitely be one of them. The other one could be shown: (i) In House 2, in Company with Q in House 1. Or, if the Q 's figure jumps to another House, in company with that House. (ii) By one of the Saturn figures (Tristitia, Carcer, Cauda), because either the spouse or the "other person" will feel sad, limited, or trapped by the Q's actions. (iii) By aspect and reception. For this, it depends on what is going on in the situation. Maybe Q really loves the "other person", but they have recently had an argument, which has prompted him to ask the question. The spouse might show up in House 7, but the "other person" could show up in House 4 or House 10, squaring Q in House 1. The square would indicate the argument, but maybe there is good reception between the two figures. So, y ou can see, identifying the main players requires some logical thinking and maybe some clarification from the Q. (iv) I would definitely evaluate Puella (female sexuality) or Puer (male sexuality) and Via (figure of the Waning Moon, and may represent someone who is feeling badly, emotionally). (v) if Q is merely have sexual relations with the other person, without much emotional involvement, the figure of House 5 may spring to conjunct Q 's figure, or Q's figure may spring to conjunct House 5. (vi) If the Q is having sexual relations with one, but not the other, sexual activity may be shown by CONJUNCTION of the Q's figure with one of the other figures. I would also lo ok for Conjunctio as the reception figure between the Q and the one with whom he is having sexual relations. (vii) It could also be argued that a STABLE figure in House 7 could represent the spouse and a MOBILE figure in House 7 could represent the "other person." You would need to engage in some detective work in the chart to figure out where the other one was.

It also co ncerns WILLS and LEGACIES, but only in a very general sense. In the body, the ORGANS OF EXCRETION. -- HOUSE 8 AS A DERIVED HOUSE: THE OTHER PERSON'S MONEY (2d from the 7th), which could cover a person with whom the Querent is doing a business deal, a spouse's money, or the enemy's money, such as in a trial or sports betting. ANOTHER COUNTRY'S CURRENCY is also here. -- EXAMPLES: Will I ever inherit a fortune? Is Mr. X dead? Did Miss Z commit suicide or was she murdered? Will the bank give me a loan? Will I win the bet? -- NOTES: (a) In a question of inheritance from someone specific, look to the person's 2d House, whether that person is dead or still alive. So, "Will I inherit my mother's money?": Judge from House 1 and House 11.

(b) In a question of currency exchange rates, the Querent and his country are House 1, and the currency of that place is House 2. Another country to be compared to is House 7, and that other country's currency is House 8. (c) In questions about loans, the bank is just a group of "other people," House 7, and their money is House 8. (d) In questions about gambling, the bookie, casino, or dealer is just a House 7 person, and his money is House 8. You want to know if you will get the bookie's money, so judge whether House 1 perfects with House 8. Gambling is not a House 5 matter, unless the question is something like, "Will I have fun at the casino tonight?" because fun and pleasure are House 5. But if you want to know if you will WIN at the casino, judgment is from House 8. (e) The Q's significator will occasionally spring to House 8 to show that the Q is fearful or anguished over the subject of the question. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------HOUSE 9: This is the House of LONG JOURNEYS, PILGRIMAGES, RELIGION and SPIRITUAL MATTERS. It also covers HOLIDAYS and VACATIONS, as well as FOREIGN COUNTRIES. This is the House of HIGHER KNOWLEDGE, which is anything higher than common knowledge or skill, as well as the SCHOOLS and UNIVERSITIES where we learn such higher knowledge. (c) In questions from a Q about whether a third party person will be accepted into a university, use the house of the third-party, and t he university as House 9, not the turned House 9, because the university doesn't "belong" to the third person. "Will my daughter be accepted into Harvard University?" Judge from House 5 and House 9. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------HOUSE 10: This is the House of AUTHORITY FIGURES, such as the KING, the BOSS, the GOVERNMENT, the PRIME MINISTER or PRESIDENT, the JUDGE/JURY in a court case. It is the highest House of heaven, and so represents HONOR, SUCCESS, and GLORY. It shows the Querent's JOB or CAREER. It is traditionally the House of the Querent's MOTHER. In the body, it shows the KNEES and THIGHS.\ -- HOUSE 10 AS A DERIVED HOUSE: PROFI T FROM HIGHER KNOWLEDGE: House 10 shows the profit or fruits from higher knowledge (the 2d from the 9th). "Will I make money as an astrologer?": Judge from House 1 and House 10, but also look to House 7 to see if you will get clients and House 8, to see if you will get the public's money. "Will I obtain the alchemical Philosopher's Stone?": Judge from House 1 and House 10.

-- EXAMPLES: Should I change jobs? Will my boss retire soon? Does the judge/jury favor my lawsuit? Will I win the award? -- NOTES: (a) NEW JOBS: If a Querent who is currently employed asks whether he will get a NEW JOB, t he chart may show (i) the CURRENT JOB as House 10 and the prospective NEW JOB as House 11; or (ii) t he prospective NEW JOB as House 10. Whether the chart is showing (i) or (ii) can be determined by the nature of the figures in House 10 and House 11, and the receptions between House 1 and House 10, and between House 1 and 11. -- NEW JOB EXAMPLE: Let us say that the Querent is currently employed as a salesperson in a clothing store, but she hates that job and wants to become a bank teller, where she thinks she will be happier. The chart shows House 1 as Via, House 10 as Conjunctio, and House 11 as Caput Draconis. In this case, House 10 clearly shows the current Job as Conjunctio is a Mercury-ruled figure that would describe a sales job well. Also, if we combine Via and Conjunctio, we get Carcer, a figure showing the Querent's frustration in her current j ob. House 11 clearly shows the prospective new  job because Caput Draconis is a good symbol for a new beginning. Also, combining Via and Caput Draconis gives the figure Laetitia, showing the Querent's hope of happiness in getting the new job. So, to determine whether Querent would get the new job, judge the chart from House 1 and House 11.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------HOUSE 11: This is the House of FRIENDS, and also HOPES AND WISHES, in a general sense. If a more specific House can be used, however, a question should not be judged as a hope or a wish. -- HOUSE 11 AS A DERIVED HOUSE: Many of House 11's more important meanings are derived from House 10. It shows a JOB'S WAGES (2d from the 10th), P ROFITS FROM A BUSINESS (2d from the 10th), GOVERNMENT GRANTS (2d from the 10th), TAXES OWED TO THE GOVERNMENT, TAX REFUNDS, and ANY MONEY COMING FROM THE GOVERNMENT (all 2d from the 10th). House 10 is also the House of Heaven, because it is considered highest in the sky, and so any good or profit from House 10 is "pennies from Heaven," i.e., UNEARNED BO UNTY, like LOTTERY WINNINGS. And just as House 2 is the House of close advisors or aides of the querent, so is House 11 the CLOSE ADVISORS OF THOSE IN AUTHORITY. If House 10 shows the King, House 11 is the PRIME MINISTER; if Ho use 10 is the prime minister, House 11 is the GOVERNMENT CABINET. In the body, this House represents the CALVES and ANKLES. -- EXAMPLES: Will I win the lottery this year? Will I get a pay raise soon? Will I be awarded the government grant? Will the President fire his Secretary of Defense? -- NOTES: (a) Beware of using "FRIEND" too loosely. Unless you are close with them in real life, your "friends" on Facebook are not your friends, they are on-line acquaintances at most, and so are represented by House 7, "other people." It also shows ANIMALS LARGER THAN GOATS, such as CATTLE, HORSES, etc. In the body, it shows the FEET. -- House 12 as a Derived House: MATERNAL AUNTS AND UNCLES (3rd from the 10th) -- EXAMPLES: Should I buy the horse? Will Mr. X be convicted and go to prison? Has someone put a curse on me? Has Ms. A spread a rumor about me? Will I get over my fear of flying? -- NOTES: (a) In seeing a figure jump to House 12 for a Conjunction to House 1, you may wonder whether the meanings of House 12 are relevant. They USUALLY ARE NOT. To make a conjunction with House 1, the Holy Mother has only two options for every potential question in existence -- to move the figure to House 2 or House 12. Where the conjuncting figure is in House 12, it does not necessarily mean that a witch, a hidden enemy, self-undoing, etc. must figure in the judgment. Instead, it is often possible to interpret a House 12 conjunction as something AT THE QUERENT'S BACK, or BACKING THE QUERENT. For instance, Fortuna Major jumping to House 12 from another House to conjunct House 1 may indicate FINANCIAL BACKING. The meanings of House 12 would not enter the  judgment.
