Procedure: 1. Look carefully at the geologic map of Metro Manila. Use the legend to understand the information about rocks and faults on the map. Where are the oldest rocks in Metro Manila? The youngest?
The oldest rocks in metro manila are those who surrounds the fault line while the

youngest are the one within the vassal area of the fault line. 2. Locate faults on the map. Are the faults evenly distributed throughout the state, or do they appear to be grouped in some ways? Do the faults seem to be located in areas with particular landforms? landforms? If so, how might you explain that?
The faults are appeared to be grouped in a linear way. The faults are located on a

straight line across the state particularly in some landforms. The fault line seems to move every 400years upwards given that it stays in a linear way. 3. Now, look at the earthquake map of Metro Manila. What relationships do you observe between the features in the geologic map and where most of the earthquakes have occurred? Record your observations in your notebook. Earthquakes happen when stresses build up between rock layers. Eventually, when the stress is great enough, the rock layers suddenly slip along a fault. This motion, the earthquake, releases huge amounts of energy in all directions.
The observation that I made is that the earthquake map demonstrates oppositely from

the geologic map and most earthquakes occur on the opposite that the geologic map displays. 4. If you were going to build a community in an area of Metro Manila where earthquakes are least likely to occur, where would you do this? Write your reasons for why you would plan your community in this place.
I would plan my community somewhere in between Malabon and Valenzuela. Malabon

because it is where the least earthquakes occur and Valenzuela because it has the least flood issues. So somewhere in between Malabon and Valenzuela would be earthquake and flood safe.
5. Where in Metro Manila are places highly likely to experience earthquakes? What is your evidence for that? The places that are highly to experience earthquakes are North Valenzuela, San Juan, • Manila, Taguig, East Mandaluyong

It is related in the way that it has the same linear way. It only hits on one path but giving
