||
||
This following is a rare and one of the most potent Kavacha Stotram (Armour Stuti) on Vedamata Sri Gayatri. The source of the Stotra is not readily known. As per the hymn, the hymn was given to Lord Brahma by Lord Vishnu Himself at the time of creation of universe. This Stotra is also known as Savitra Panjara (and Brahma Panjara) stotram. Lord Brahma mentions that Gayatri Hrudayam should be chanted before Gayatri Japa and this Panjara stotra should be chanted after Japa after due oblations through Acamana. This hymn consists of several parts viz. a long Dhyana, Viniyoga, Nyasa, Dhyana, Kavacha, 128 Names of Gayatri and Phalashruti in two parts. A brief description of benefits one accrues by chanting this hymn is given below:
One who chants/listens this hymn during Sandhya Kala every day becomes equivalent of Trinity (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva)
This hymn is capable of bestowing immortality to mortals (long life), courage to the fearful, salvation to the seekers, wealth to the wealth seekers, victory to the warriors, health to the diseased, comforts to the poor, redemption to the sinners, debating skills to the debators, poetic skills to the poets, progeny to the issueless, relief from sorrow to the agitated, relief from fear from enemies, Vishnu Bhakti to Vaishnavites, sacred knowledge to the Rishis, emancipation to the sages, etc.
One who gets sprinkled of holy water after due chanting of this hymn for a Mandala (40 days) or one year is relieved of leprosy (for a leper), diseases (for the diseased), progeny for the issueless, mutual love for the estranged spouses, etc.
One should chant this hymn under a banyan tree for exacting the favor of higher authorities (royal favor), under Palasha tree for knowledge, in front of Lord Surya for achieving Tejas (lustre/aura), in Chandika (Kali) temple for begetting Kanyas or victory over enemies, in Vishnu temples for achieving wealth and all desires, in mountains for achieving emancipation, etc.
