1 Event Menu In order to simplify installation and maintenance the DCSS records all unusual events as a persistent logging. The events are classified using the following convention: Example:
E39 Yxx
Event Number
Event Class: I : Information only: Results from normal operation. For example logging of power up events, reversal operation etc. W: Maintenance information only: DCSS is able to handle the situation - performance not affected. Inspection recommended. For example: Logging full E: Maintenance request: Serious event, performance degradation expected. Maintenance required. For example: 3WireComFail.
The logging is available in three different representation forms as listed below. History: Shows the events in the order of their appearance. An included logging time stamp gives the relation to the present time. Actual: Non persistent logging of up to 16 very last events, starting with the oldest event, logging time stamp included. Additional information can be displayed on the SVTOOL by pressing key: shift 3 EvLog: Amount of occurrences of each event - logging time stamp included. Representation equals to DCSS 1-4 loggings. Del: Deletes the logged events - clear memory for new logging period.

Event Description Entry indicating a new Log-Start after deleting the previous logging Event logging memory full - delete logging to free memory Peak output current greater than 7 A. If this event occurs 3 times within 120 sec, the DCSS switches into locked mode. Motor current was for 10 sec higher than setup limit. If this event occurs 3 times within 120 sec, the DCSS switches to lock mode. Door was stalled during closing, the stalled door protection has been activated more than 10 times in series. One or two tracks of the encoder are damaged. DCSS switches into INI mode. Please check encoder counting in Monitor – Status menu. Sometimes an error can be logged by blocking the door run obviously encoder is ok. Attention: During INI/Nudg profiles and while the door is creeping before and after a main profile, encoder errors are not detectable DC-Link maximum voltage (450Vdc) exceeded – risk of damage or lifetime reduction of DCSS package Power supply voltage is less than 180Vac – risk of performance degration Indicates that the DCSS is booting after power down – power up sequence Indicates that the check sequence for the discrete interface failed three times. DCSS is set into locked mode – Maintenance required Door runs out of the tolerated end-position range after reaching [] or ][. Automatic installation started Automatic installation stopped by user request Automatic installation successful finalized Automatic installation terminated with error
Indicates that profile setup was modified X x 100 reversals occurred. Use this information as door mechanism stress indicator DCSS out of order, serious event occurred – maintenance required. DCSS is de-energized and does not react on commands. Root cause could be: Motor Protect, InverterProt or 3wireComFail events. Unlock DCSS performimg power down – power up sequence or SVTOOL key-sequence ‘shift 5’ Door stalled during opening operation, Dcss switches to Ini mode DCSS was not able to open the door within 15 sec DCSS was not able to close the door within 15 sec Indicates successful discrete I/O check sequence initiated by Service Tool parameters have been reset to the default values

Gain factor of P-Controller Increasing of the P-Gain parameter increases the closed loop impact. Wrong adjustment can cause over-currents and/or bad tracking behavior. Decreasing of the FeedUp-Gain parameter results in stronger and faster acceleration to compensate the slippage during acceleration. Decreasing of the FeedDown-Gain parameter results in stronger and faster deceleration.

Installation suggestions for heavy doors (200W motor) •
Max. Close Torque according to EN81 Especially for heavy doors with a 200W motor it is important to check the max Close torque, which is defined in the EN81 as a static force of 150Newton a door panel is pressing. To measure that close force you must block the door with disabled reversal devices and Passenger Protection to avoid a reopening. The best way to do it is to enter a CLOSE command by the ServiceTool under Menu Tools (key 3412). Enter the CLOSE command and bring the running door to stop by blocking it. Now measure the static force with a Newton Meter (gauged spring). If the measured force is higher than 150N, than reduce the parameter Px:NudgingTorque (key3341).
This table should give a general installation suggestion to help adjusting heavy glass door types driven with a 200W motor. 1) Fine-adjusting of the torques, which are learned during the installation, to reduce the forces at the door panel during closing and to avoid overcurrents. With reduced forces the Passenger Protection will react much better. Parameter ClsTorque NudgingTorque IniTorque
