Description

Arm Slave operation An Arm Slave is operated in a semi-master–slave system. This is an operating method which has the slave arm (machine motion) trace the movements of the master arm (pilot motion). This makes an Arm Slave a form of powered suit, instead of a robot which is piloted. The Arm Slave is not a complete master-slave piloting arrangements, as full motion tracing is impractical within the limited space of the cockpit. This limitation is solved by the Arm Slave amplifying the motion of the pilot. The "semi" designation of the piloting system refers to this machine-assisted motion management.[8] The simplest and most obvious aspect is the Bilateral Angle, or the BMSA. BMSA is the amplification factor of the master movement by the slave trace. With a BMSA of 3, a pilot motion of 30 degrees is amplified to 90 degrees. Lower BMSA values are used in training, and more accomplished pilots make use of higher values. The usual range is between 1.3 (training) to 2.4 (standard) to 3.5 (high).[8] While the Second Generation Arm Slaves were limited in joint flexibility and overall anatomy, Third Generation units are mechanically capable of motions difficult or impossible for humans. A full master slave system, perfectly tracing the motion of a pilot would be limited to the same capabilities of the pilot. The semi-master–slave operation, controlled by complex software systems commonly called motion managers are capable of translating pilot motion into maneuvers impossible by the human body. Skilled pilots spend a significant amount of time in optimization and personalization of the these motion patterns. Arm Slave vetronics including the motion managers form a critical component of arm slave performance characteristics. The M9 AI systems are indispensable in controlling the Arm Slave, allowing the pilot to make use of the full capabilities of the craft.[8]

Type

Notes Its appearance does not take a humanoid-like shape, making it as the only known Arm Slave to have a form consisting of two arms placed in front of the mech without a "face".[9][10] In Full Metal Panic!, it is mostly seen in the "Ending Day by Day", in use by the Balic military as most of C3-5 Mistral II their weapons and equipment have been supplied by Amalgam via French arms manufacturers such as GIAT when they engaged in a civil war against guerillas and were known to be involved in an attempt to perform ethnic cleansing on Balic's refugee populations. Germany Type Notes Drache Japan

Type Type 96 Type M4 M6, M6A1, M6A2 Bushnell M6A3 Dark Bushnell

Notes Models include T96 models modified for one or two pilots. The Type 96 is a design modified from base M6 design, similar to the relationship between the F-2 and F-16. United States Notes The main Arm Slave of the US Army and the US Marine Corps. The USMC M6A2 uses a large reactive armor shield as optional equipment.

Enhanced model for special operations, similar to the relationship between the MH-60 and UH-60. U.S. Army OPEVAL unit. A provisional order for 26 units has been XM9 tabled. USSR[11] Type Notes Rk-89 First saw action in Afghanistan, almost totally phased out of the Soviet "Shamrock" Army. Front line Soviet Army unit; a common Arm Slave in the hands of terrorist organizations. One of the titular second generation Arm Slaves created by the Soviet Union in 1992 after the Gulf War,[12] the Savage is "Savage" a mass produced unit used by the Eastern bloc.[13] It has also been Rk-91 / Rk-92 exported to other communist nations, including North Korea and North China.[14] The Rk-92 is an upgrade of the Rk-91 with a gas turbine engine.[9] First deployed by Amalgam, the Shadow is the USSR's third-generation Arm Slave, presumably undergoing OPEVAL with the Soviet Army.[6][13] It is comparable to the M9 in terms of capability such as having ECS Zy-98 equipment.[6] Sousuke Sagara's close friend, Zaied, uses a red and black "Shadow" colored Shadow during the Wind Blows at Home episode arc. Amalgam deploys several Shadows during the events of the Second Raid episodes The Dungeon and The Dragon and Daylight.

[edit] Organizations Type Plan1055 Belial Plan1056 Codarl

Plan1058 Codarl(i) Plan1059 Codarl(m)

Amalgam Notes Leonard Testarossa's Arm Slave, which appears in the novel Continuing on My Own as one of the world's first 4th-generation Arm Slaves. Testarossa uses it to destroy the Arbalest.[15] Mithril codename "Venom", the first Lambda Driver-equipped Arm Slave in Amalgam's arsenal.[9] The Codarl series is based on the frame of the USSR's Zy-98 Shadow. Gauron pilots one such Codarl during the Khanka hostage crisis in the Full Metal Panic! series episodes Whispered, Still Alive, Boy Meets Girl, and the three-part episode Wind Blows at Home. Mithril codename "Venom", ostensibly a refinement of the Codarl, but an entirely new Arm Slave. Gauron pilots a red-colored version during the events of the Full Metal Panic! episodes Venom's Fire, Field of Giants, and Into the Blue. A mass-produced version of the Codarl which makes an appearance in Hong Kong during the final few episodes of the Second Raid.

Plan1051 Behemoth

Plan1065 Eligor Plan1211 Alastor Type ARX-6 Halberd

The largest Arm Slave in the Full Metal Panic! universe. Although it dwarfs other Arm Slaves, the mech is equipped with a Lambda Driver to help support its huge bulk. The A-21 terrorist group uses one Behemoth during its rampage in Tokyo in the first series' episodes Behemoth Awakening and One Night Stand. Amalgam later deploys several Behemoths for the Mérida Island assault in the novel Continuing on My Own.[9] Similar to the Venom, but more bulkier on the upper half and with a different heat-sink system. The Eligor's Lambda Driver exhibits more power than those from Codarls. At around two meters, the Alastor is the smallest existing Arm Slave in the Full Metal Panic! universe and is also AI-controlled.[16] Two Alastors serve as Leonard Testarossa's personal bodyguards. Mithril Notes Failed Lambda Driver Arm Slave prototype.

Mithril's sole Lambda Driver–equipped Arm Slave, piloted only by Sousuke Sagara.[17][18] The AS would be Sousuke's main steed starting from the Khanka operation in the first animated series until it is destroyed by the Belial in the novel Continuing on My Own. First appearing in the novel Come Make My Day, the Laevatein is a new high-performance Arm Slave containing the Arbalest's salvaged Lambda Driver and AI system codenamed AL.[19] The AI joined forces with Sarah Miller[19][20], the Whispered girl that Sousuke, Kurz and Mao rescued in the ARX-8 first episode of the animated series, to design the Laevatein and tailor it for Laevatein Sousuke. While it has no ECS system unlike the Arbalest and Gernsback, the Laevatein is equipped with the "Fairy's Feather," a device that cancels all Lambda Drivers-even its own-when activated. It's weapons include a set of grenades, anti-tank daggers, a new Demolition Gun, and the Boxer II shotgun. An M9 variant intended to carry a Lambda Driver; plans for this were shelved and the two produced units were used[21] as testbeds for the M9D Falke Arbalest. One of them would become Mithril Mediterranean Sea Fleet officer Belfangan Closeau's personal AS.[22] M9E The world's first third-generation Arm Slave, the Gernsback is Mithril's Gernsback standard line AS, believed to be ten years ahead of American AS.[4] ARX-7 Arbalest

[edit] Reception THEM Anime Reviews has noted that the Arm Slaves, like most real life vehicles, are done meticulously that fans of mecha series would "online catalogues for tech books and sketches."[23] Bureau 42 says that the "mecha[Arm Slave] action in the show is very well done. While I can’t compare the action with other more grounded mecha shows like Patlabor, the combat is very well done and easy to follow, and visually interesting."[24] Triforce commented that Arm Slave battles in the Full Metal Panic! series would be able to keep viewer's attention to the show.[25] Anime Chaos praises the 2D and 3D CG done on the 1st Full Metal Panic! season, with emphasis on the use of CG for the Arm Slaves.[26] Negative criticism has surfaced on the role of the Arm Slaves throughout the Full Metal Panic! series. For instance, Ender's review states that their mecha roles are confusing

that the Arm Slaves are both "08th MS Team soldiers and Dragon Ball Z-type fighters, hurling energy balls at each other and going "Super Saiya-jin."[27] Anime Database rated the Full Metal Panic! series 4 out of 5 because of the Arm Slaves battles since they start out from being good to being very unrealistic.[28] Gamespot Union comments on the relationship between the Arm Slaves and the animation done on Full Metal Panic!, saying both animation and camera views were bad.[

ARX-7 Arbalest Country/Organization: Mithril Height: 8.5 meters Weight: 9.8 tons Top Speed: ? Operational Duration: 100 hours Power Source: Palladium reactor, Lambda Driver Standard Armaments: AM-11 12.7mm machine gun (x2 head mount), XM-18 wire gun (x2), Otto/Melala Boxer scatter shot shot cannon, Honeywell M1067 fragmentation grenade, Royal Ordinance M1108 Anti-Tank Dagger History: The Arbalest is a customized M9 Gernsback designed to house an experimental Lambda Driver. It has a sophisticated AI system which only allows Sergeant Sousuke Sagara to be its pilot. The Arbalest is highly agile, but its top speed cannot be determined due to the volatility of the Lambda Driver. The most notable feature of the Arbalest is the head design with the horizontal mouthpiece that functions to hold a Anti-Tank Dagger.

M9 Gernsback Country/Organization: Mithril, United States Height: 8.4 meters Weight: 9.5 tons Top Speed: 150 km/h Operational Duration: 150 hours Power Source: Palladium reactor Standard Armaments: AM-11 12.7mm machine gun (x2 head mount), XM-18 wire gun (x2), Ericon Contolaves GDC-B 40mm Rifle, Royal Ordinance M1108 Anti-Tank Dagger History: The M9 is Mithril's current front line Arm Slave to replace the aging M6 series. The M9 Gernsback was developed with cooperation from the United States. It is highly maneuverable and is very versatile in deployment and weapon configuration. The M9 comes equipped with an advanced ECS

system which allows the use of optical camouflage.

M9E Unit 006 Country/Organization: Mithril Height: 8.4 meters Weight: 9.5 tons Top Speed: 150 km/h Operational Duration: Power Source: Palladium reactor Standard Armaments: AM-11 12.7mm machine gun (x2 head mount), XM-18 wire gun (x2), Ericon Contolaves GDC-B 40mm Rifle, Geotron Electronics GRAW-2 Monomolecular Cutter History: The M9E 006 was the new variant Gernsback given to Melissa Mao after her original M9 was destroyed by the Behemoth. The M9E has additional electronics warfare equipment along with the standard ECS package. The most notable difference is the outcrop on its head which functions as a communications and jamming antennae. Its overall operational battle time is reduced due to the extra power consumption and it has less room for reserve ammunition to provide space for its extra electronics. But the M9E is a mobile command post and comm station that

is essential on missions far from support.

M6 Bushnell Country/Organization: Mithril, United States Height: Weight: Top Speed: Operational Duration: Power Source: Gas turbine engine Standard Armaments: History: The M6 Bushnell is the predecessor to the modern M9 series of Arm Slaves. It was developed by the US in response to the Soviet's Savage. The M6 was manufactured before the invention of the palladium reactor, the high amount of sound produced by its gas engine limits its use as a

stealth unit. The M6 also lacks the high efficiency armor and muscle packages used in the M9. Hence, it is bulkier and significantly less maneuverable. However, its simpler control functions requires less rigorous

pilot training.

Type 96 Country/Organization: Japan Height: Weight: Top Speed: Operational Duration: Power Source: Standard Armaments: History: The Type 96 is the standard Arm Slave used by the Japanese SelfDefense Force. It was modeled after the M6 and shares many similarities. The Type 96 has bulky armor plates, which limit its speed and mobility. But its simple design and controls makes it easier to maintain and repair. As show in episode 14, the Type 96 can be modified to accommodate two pilots. This model also appears to have a weakness in the right arm joint connections.

Plan-1056 Codarl Country/Organization: Amalgam Height: 9.1 meters Weight: 10.8 tons Top Speed: ? Operational Duration: ? Power Source: Palladium reactor, Lambda Driver Standard Armaments: Mauser MGK 35mm rifle, IAI "Dark Edge" Monomolecular cutter History: The Codarl is an Arm Slave developed by Amalgam and is known to be the first to utilize their experimental Lambda Driver. Specific design data on the Codarl are not known, but in combat it has outclassed the M9 in both speed and agility even without using the Lambda Driver. The Codarl’s limbs were modeled after feline and insect legs giving it added mobility and jump distance. Its most distinctive feature is the pony-tail like attachment on its head, this does not appear to serve any other function than being a décor. The Codarl is used only by Amalgam’s elite pilots, all of whom appear to have been trained in the use of its Lambda Driver. The preferred armament of choice of Codarl pilots are melee weapons since the force of the Lambda Driver makes conventional long range weapons obsolete.

Plan-1501 Behemoth Country/Organization: A21, Amalgam Height: 40 meters Weight: ? Top Speed: ? Operational Duration: 40 hours Power Source: Gas Turbine Engine Standard Armaments: 30mm machine guns (x4 head mount), massive AS sword History: The Behemoth is unlike any conventional Arm Slave in both its sheer size and its design. The Behemoth relies on a Lambda Driver to offset the gravimetric stress caused by the mass of its own body. Otherwise, it would collapse due to its own weight. The Lambda Driver needs to be continuously active while the Behemoth is mobile. This places a lot of stress on the pilot who needs to concentrate on both combat and maintaining sufficient power levels in the Lambda Driver. The red Behemoth operated by the terrorist group A21 appears to be the only one ever constructed. While the manufacturer is unknown, the Behemoth is suspected to have ties

with Amalgam.

Zy-98 Shadow Country/Organization: Amalgam, Soviet Union Height: Weight: Top Speed: Operational Duration: Power Source: Palladium reactor

Standard Armaments: Anti-AS Gatling Cannon AK-87 History: The Shadow is the Soviet's entry into the next generation of Arm Slaves. It was developed as an answer to America's M9 Gernsback and to replace the old Savage series. The Shadow has all the advantages of the M9 and some units have even been equipped with ECS optical camouflage. Amalgam has apparently acquired a number of these units for their own use. Shadows are usually given to regular Amalgam AS pilots in order to

support the Codarl.

Rk-92 Savage Country/Organization: Soviet Union Height: 8.1 meters Weight: 12.5 tons Top Speed: 130 km/h Operational Duration: 230 hours Power Source: Gas turbine engine Standard Armaments: 14.5mm machine gun (x2 head mount), Loginov BK-540 37mm Rifle History: The Rk-92 Savage is a mass produced Arm Slave from the Soviet Union. It is the most ubiquitous AS model amongst modern communist nations and has also seen use by terrorist and crime organizations. The Savage has less armor than many European and American Arm Slaves, but it does have increased maneuverability. The earlier Rk-91 model housed a diesel piston engine, the newer Rk-92 has adopted the gas turbine engine. The best features of the Savage are without a doubt its low cost and high availability relative to other AS models. Variants of the model and spare parts can almost always be found on the black markets.

Mistral II Country/Organization: France Height: Weight: Top Speed: Operational Duration: Power Source: Gas turbine engine Standard Armaments: History: The Mistral II is an older generation AS like the M6. It was produced by France, but has been exported to other countries such as the Republic of Baltic. The Mistral II has thick armor but is one of the slower Arm Slaves to be mass produced. It also goes against the usual humanoid design of Arm Slaves since it lacks a discernible head. The other prominent feature of the Mistral is the large section jutting out form its back.

[edit] Overview Mithril is a worldwide military (non-governmental) anti-terrorist organization[1] possessing advanced technologies and weapon systems superior to that of any national armed forces. It was founded around 1992-1993, following the detonation of a nuclear warhead in northern Iraq in the then waning Gulf War. It is named after the fictional metal, Mithril, from The Lord of the Rings written by J. R. R. Tolkien.[2] The organization's purpose to halt regional conflicts, in addition to securing the Whispered without taking any sides.[3] As such, it is one of the few organizations aware of the Whispered and Black Technology. Mithril remains an extremely secretive organization, its existence unknown to all but the most senior of military and political personnel. Its motives, funding, structure, and personnel are all kept secret. Its secrecy is vital for its continued existence, as Mithril is a specialist organization dependent on fast surgical strikes with small numbers. It does not possess the numbers or capacity to withstand a conventional war of numbers.

[edit] Organization Mithril is divided into three divisions, Research, Intelligence, and Tactical, which are overseen by the General Council.[4] The current chairman of the General Council is Lord Mallory.[4][5] Additional divisions may exist, but have not been mentioned at this time. The three divisions operate across international borders with the best and brightest available personnel. The command structure of Mithril is very direct to give soldiers a clear chain of command to their superior officers. At the same time, commanders are given the ability

to individually take command of a situation. The high level of trust in individual ability gives each organizational unit a strong level of autonomous decision making.

[edit] Research Division The research division develops advanced Black Technology devices from the knowledge gleaned from the Whispered. There have been a number of Whispered who have taken active part in the Research division as personnel as well. The research division of Mithril is deeply involved with the various cover corporate identities operated by the organization. The organization markets spin off technologies of its research. This revenue is assumed to be part of the funding of the two other divisions. The head of Research is Dr. Painrose.[4][6] The research division is shown to have a close working relationship with the combat division of Mithril. There is a personnel exchange program, further fostering this relationship.

[edit] Intelligence Division The intelligence division of Mithril handles the intelligence and counterintelligence duties within the organization. The division is highly independent of the two other divisions, maintaining a higher level of secrecy within the already secretive organization. The division operates an impressive amount of assets, including a number of military satellites, advanced computer equipment and personnel within other organizations. They have been shown using the United States intelligence satellites through morally dubious means. The intelligence division is charged with finding and securing ‘’Whispered’’ as well. The head of Intelligence is General Mayer Amit, formerly from Israel and an ex-Mossad secret agent.[5] Agents and officers of the division operate under the codename Ogma. A certain amount of friction between the Combat and Intelligence divisions have been highlighted within the narrative of Full Metal Panic. This friction does not prevent the division from being highly effective in monitoring the hotbeds of regional conflicts.

[edit] Tactical Division The Tactical Division of Mithril is the physical muscle of Mithril, carrying out surgical strikes to halt or help abate regional conflicts. The Tactical division is further divided into five fleets, the North Atlantic Fleet, the South Atlantic Fleet, the Indian Ocean Fleet, the Mediterranean Sea Fleet and the West Pacific Fleet. Within each fleet are battle groups, such as the Pal Horon Battle Group of the North Atlantic Fleet, which operates primarily in the Mediterranean Sea.[4] The head of the Tactical Division is Admiral Voda, formerly from the United States Navy.[4] The Tuatha De Danaan Battle Group is commanded by Captain Teletha Testarossa, from the flagship of the same name, TDD-1 Tuatha de Danaan[7] while using the codename Ansuz.[8] Commander Richard Mardukas is second-in-command and Lieutenant Commander Andrei Sergeivich Kalinin was military strategist.[9] Mithril is a specialist organization unlike most armies, requiring personnel capable of completing sensitive and difficult operations in small teams. These small surgical strike teams are operated by each battle group, under the Special Response Team (SRT)[1] and Primary Response Team (PRT) units.[4] They are armed rapid response units deployed around the world, most often within a day or even hours. The SRT are deployed to the most dangerous and risky of situation, ones that the PRT cannot be expected to complete.

[edit] Special Response Teams and Primary Response Teams

MITHRIL SRT/PRT operator disguised as a UN Peacekeeper, speaking to Ms. Kagurazaka while guarding the evacuation of Jindai High students/teachers. He is armed with a FN P90.

SRT and PRT operators of the Pacific battle group operate under code names during field operations. These code names are letters from the Runic alphabet. SRT members are designated Urzu (Urzu) while PRT members are designated Kaunan (Kano).[8][10] These runic letters each carry a symbolic meaning well suited to the units. For example, Urzu means power[8] while Kaunan means beginning.[10] In their need of secrecy, these Mithril soldiers often disguise themselves as armed forces of various nations. In Full Metal Panic, they pose as UN peacekeepers by wearing blue berets and green BDUs fitted with UN insignias. Under the direct command of Lieutenant Commander Andrei Kalinin, who has the call sign of Perth-1,[8] the ground combat units of the Tuatha de Danaan battle group are separated into SRT and PRT units. There are six PRT units, each one specializing in a particular type of warfare. They are air assault, amphibious warfare, espionage, assault, communications, and building breaching and assault.[4] Soldiers rotate within the six teams to learn the methods and skills of each team. The Primary Response Teams form the core fighting force of the Pacific Fleet. Most operations of Mithril are carried out by the PRT. Urzu Three is commander of the Primary Response Teams, and facilitates the communication and teamwork between the SRT and PRT personnel. The distinction of the SRT from the PRT is the usage of Arm Slaves. Almost all SRT members are Arm Slave pilots in addition to their specialist skills elsewhere. This is largely unheard of, and highlights the unique nature of the SRT. Each specialist of the unit is encouraged in cross training to retain the ability to complete a mission regardless of personnel loss in the field. While most missions operate the SRT and PRT personnel as discrete units, complex operations have been shown using both SRT and PRT units. In these cases, SRT personnel have been shown to take command of supporting PRT units. The two teams show strong integration, showing the well trained nature of both units. [edit] TDD-1 Response Team Personnel

Enlisted and officer ranks in the PRT and SRT are, like Mithril's officer corps, based upon American and British military ranking systems. They consist of a mix of American and British army and navy ranks.

[edit] Equipment

A combined SRT/PRT squad deployed from the TDD-1 led by Yang Jun-Kyu (middle, leaning near door) in a rescue mission at the Cross-Yangtze River tunnel. They are all armed with CornerShot assault weapon systems outfitted with silenced Glock pistols and extended magazines and are wearing assault glasses with a built-in headset that presumably connects to the CornerShot.

In order to conduct their missions, Mithril Response Teams are armed with the finest military equipment that is available to them. Much like Special forces operators of most

countries, SRT personnel are given complete freedom in the equipment they choose to arm themselves with. This serves to make each individual member difficult to identify as a part of Mithril based on their equipment. Equipment shown used by Response Teams in the series include the FN P90 submachine gun and an assault rifle/hand gun combination similar to the CornerShot system.[15] The cornerstone of the West Pacific Battlegroup, Tuatha de Danaan, is the amphibious assault submarine TDD-1 Tuatha de Danaan.[26] The ship shares its name with a legendary race of people who are feature prominently in Irish mythology.[3] The standard complement of Tuatha de Danaan is four FAV-8 Super Harriers, six MH67 Pave Mare Transport Helicopters, and four RAH-66 Comanches.[27][28] Additional equipment fielded by Mithril are a turbofan variant of the C-130 Hercules, C-17 Globemaster III transports, and MH-60 Pave Hawks. It is notable that many of these weapon systems operated by Mithril include a number of equipment that are from failed or canceled development programs in reality. It is unknown if the addition of Black Technology have made these projects viable or the tastes of the author are particularly strongly reflected within the fictional narrative. Most notable is the advanced Third Generation Arm Slave, yet unmatched by any military of the world. SRT operatives are issued the M9E Gernsback Arm Slaves for general Arm Slave combat or missions.[29] Each SRT member customize and personalize the Arm Slave extensively, creating a close relationship with their machines.[29] The Battlegroup also operates a number of older M6 Bushnell units as secondary and backup units, but do not carry any on the limited space of the TDD-1. Mithril as an organization has access to low orbit satellites for an encrypted communications network and intelligence gathering, codenamed as Sting.[10] Illegal and unauthorized access of United States satellite network has been mentioned. It is unknown if Mithril possesses its own orbital assets or only borrows from other nations.

[edit] Reception Anime Jump pokes fun at the existence of Mithril, calling it Megaforce instead.[30] However, DVDTOWN.com has stated that Mithril's presence in the Full Metal Panic! series gives the show a serious atmosphere to the viewers.[31] M9 Gernsback Country/Organization: Mithril, United States Height: 8.4 meters Weight: 9.5 tons Top Speed: 150 km/h Operational Duration: 150 hours Power Source: Palladium reactor Standard Armaments: AM-11 12.7mm machine gun (x2 head mount), XM-18 wire gun (x2), Ericon Contolaves GDC-B 40mm Rifle, Royal Ordinance M1108 Anti-Tank Dagger The M9 is Mithril's current front line Arm Slave to replace the aging M6 series. The M9 Gernsback was developed with cooperation from the United States. It is highly maneuverable and is very versatile in deployment and weapon configuration. The M9 comes equipped with an advanced ECS system which allows the use of optical camouflage.

It is loaded with a black technology-based Lambda Driver, and judging from its external design is probably the successor to the M9 Gernsback. The Arbalest was created by the same person that designed the M9, Bunny Morauta, who was a “Whispered” engineer with MITHRIL. The potential power that this Arm Slave has contained within its armored shell is simply unfathomable. Since the Arbalest was first piloted by Sousuke, it refuses to recognize anyone other than him as its pilot. This

experimental model still has numerous bugs to be worked out; for example, it is not yet certain whether the mecha's Lambda Driver is even fully operable or not. The Arbalest's full combat potential was demonstrated, however, during the battle between Mithril and Amalgam's special Execution Squad in Hong Kong, where Sousuke and the Arbalest's AI, Al, are able to utilize the Lambda Driver's full potential to destroy five Amalgam Codarls in under two minutes. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/ ... shnell.jpg M6 Bushnell Country/Organization: Mithril, United States Height: Weight: Top Speed: Operational Duration: Power Source: Gas turbine engine Standard Armaments: The M6 Bushnell is the predecessor to the modern M9 series of Arm Slaves. The M6 also lacks the high efficiency armor and muscle packages used in the M9. Hence, it is bulkier and significantly less maneuverable. However, its simpler control functions requires less rigorous pilot training. For this reason, one M6 is used by Captain Tessa Testarossa against Major Melissa Mao in a mock battle at Mithril's island base. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/ ... 9Falke.jpg M9D Falke Country/Organization: Mithril Height: 8.4 meters Weight: 9.5 tons Top Speed: 150 km/h Operational Duration: 150 hours Power Source: Palladium reactor Standard Armaments: AM-11 12.7mm machine gun (x2 head mount), XM-18 wire gun (x2), Ericon Contolaves GDC-B 40mm Rifle, Bofors ASG96-b 57 mm Smoothbore Cannon, Royal Ordinance M1108 Anti-Tank Dagger, IMI "Crimson Edge" Monomolecular Cutter A 3rd generation Arm Slave originally developed to serve as the testbed unit for Mithril's Lambda Driver prototype, the Falke's role was shelved after the

primary designed of the Lambda Driver committed suicide. However, two units were constructed and used as testbeds for technologies that would later be incorporated into the ARX-7 Arbalest. A single M9D Falke is used by Mithril's new Special Response Team leader Belfangan Clouseau as his personal AS. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/ ... codarl.jpg Plan-1056 Codarl Country/Organization: Amalgam Height: 9.1 meters Weight: 10.8 tons Top Speed: ? Operational Duration: ? Power Source: Palladium reactor, Lambda Driver Standard Armaments: Mauser MGK 35mm rifle, IAI "Dark Edge" Monomolecular cutter The Codarl is an Arm Slave developed by Amalgam and is known to be the first to utilize their experimental Lambda Driver. The Codarl is used only by Amalgam’s elite pilots, such as Gauron, all of whom appear to have been trained in the use of its Lambda Driver. The preferred armament of choice of Codarl pilots are melee weapons since the force of the Lambda Driver makes conventional long range weapons obsolete. However, the unstable but powerful ARX-7 Arbalest proves to be pound for pound superior, heavily damaging Gauron's Codarl in North Korea during its first deployment and destroying it entirely when the two clash in Helmajistan, forcing him to rely upon the improved Codarl-i in the final battle aboard the Tuatha De Danaan. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/ ... rofile.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/ ... etails.jpg Plan 1058 Codarl-i Country/Organization: Amalgam Height: 9.1 meters Weight: 10.8 tons Top Speed: ? Amalgam's pride and joy, the AS with a Lambda Driver and an ominous silhouette. Mithril's identifying code for it is "Venom". While rudimentary, it is equipped with an ECS capable of invisibility. Technologically speaking, Amalagam's ECS system excels at concealing long wavelengths of light, and the entire AS is painted red to take advantage of this characteristic. Though the Codarl-i's performance is identical to that of the M9, its use of the Lambda Driver makes it unbeatable by a stock M9. The first Codarl-i, piloted by the mercenary Gauron, was captured briefly on Berildaobu Island, during which time analysis revealed its Lambda Driver was mostly identical to that of the ARX-7 Arbalest. It was later destroyed by Gauron enabling its selfdestruct system. A second Codarl-i was deployed as the personal AS of Amalgam Execution Squad leader Gates, equipped with optional mounted machine guns. It was destroyed in the final battle in Hong Kong by a blast from the Arbalest's Lambda Driver. Plan 1059 Codarl-m Country/Organization: Amalgam Height: 9.1 meters Weight: 10.8 tons Top Speed: ? Operational Duration: ? Power Source: Palladium reactor, Lambda Driver A mass produced version of the prototype Codarl, the Codarl-m features the Codarl-i's more reliable Lambda Driver mounted within the original Codarl's cheaper frame, as well as a variety of optional armaments including various spears, halberds, blades, and pistols. One Codarl-m is stolen by Xia Yu Fan from Amalgam, which is then utilized to cause havoc within Hong Kong, raising tensions between North and South China. Four more are deployed alongside Gates' Codarl-i for use by the Amalgam Execution Squad sent to hunt down the twin assassins. Xia Yu Fan's is later destroyed by Gates, while the Execution Squad's are destroyed by the ARX-7's first fully operational Lambda Driver combat. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/ ... hemoth.jpg Plan-1501 Behemoth Country/Organization: A21, Amalgam Height: 40 meters Weight: ? Top Speed: ? Operational Duration: 40 hours Power Source: Gas Turbine Engine Standard Armaments: 30mm machine guns (x4 head mount), massive AS sword The Behemoth is unlike any conventional Arm Slave in both its sheer size

and its design. While the manufacturer is unknown, the Behemoth is suspected to have ties with Amalgam. This Behemoth is destroyed when the cooling apparatus for its Lambda Driver are destroyed by Sousuke Sagara's ARX-7 Arbalest, causing it to shut down and the Behemoth to collapse. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/ ... lastor.jpg Plan 1211 Alastor The bodyguard accompanying Leonard Testarossa. Outwardly, it appears to be a giant man towering over 2 meters in height, but its true identity is the world's smallest autonomous Arm Slave. It possesses massive power in its human-sized body and possesses armor that renders anti-personnel weapons useless. An automatic weapon that never feels fear. That is the Alastor. The construction of the Alastor is extremely similar to that of 3rd Generation ASs if one ignores the fact that space for the pilot has been eliminated. Extremely sophisticated Black Technology was necessary to construct its complicated yet flexible frame, as well as downsize all the mechanical components such as the power source, drive system, and control system. Furthermore, the vetronics and software that make its autonomy possible are technologies that are still in the research phase even for normal sized ASs. In the entire world, there are no organizations, including Mithril, with such advanced AS technology. Except Amalgam. The Alastor's silhouette bears a close resemblance to the human body. Fundamentally driven by reactive polymers, 3rd generation Arm Slaves bear many points of structural similarity to the human body. Scaled down to the size of a human body, perhaps the Alastor is something new that could fittingly be called an android. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/ ... savage.jpg Rk-92 Savage Country/Organization: Soviet Union Height: 8.1 meters Weight: 12.5 tons Top Speed: 130 km/h Operational Duration: 230 hours

Power Source: Gas turbine engine Standard Armaments: 14.5mm machine gun (x2 head mount), Loginov BK540 37mm Rifle The Rk-92 Savage is a mass produced Arm Slave from the Soviet Union. It was developed as an answer to America's M9 Gernsback and to replace the old Savage series. The Shadow has all the advantages of the M9 and some units have even been equipped with ECS optical camouflage. Amalgam has apparently acquired a number of these units for their own use. Shadows are usually given to regular Amalgam AS pilots in order to support the Codarl. One is piloted by Sousuke's old insurgent comrade Zaied in Helmajistan while another is deployed in Nanjing, piloted by Xia Lu Fan. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/ ... Standard Armaments: The Type 96 is the standard Arm Slave used by the Japanese Self-Defense Force. It was modeled after the M6 and shares many similarities. The Type 96 has bulky armor plates, which limit its speed and mobility. But its simple design and controls makes it easier to maintain and repair. The Type 96 can be modified to accommodate two pilots. Several Type 96s were deployed in Hong Kong during Xia Yu Fan's rampage, but proved unable to accomplish anything against the 3rd generation Codarl-m's Lambda Driver. _________________
