Model Answer: My favourite food is fried rice with vegetable and chicken curry with salad. This is in fact the most popular menu in our country. The rice is first boiled in water and then the boiled rice is fried with some chicken and vegetables and oil. The chicken curry is prepared separately using some spices and chicken and finally the salad is prepared using different vegetables and fruits and then those are cup into pieces and mixed together with mustard. Then these three items are served together. I eat this menu approximately 3-4 times in a week. This menu is prepared at home mostly and sometimes I eat it in a restaurant. There are some variations in the way this food is prepared and the ingredients using which this food is made. Different restaurants have their own specialty in preparing and serving this menu. This is my favourite food for many reasons: firstly it is very delicious and healthy. This menu meets the demand for different food values our body needs. It is available in most of the part in our country. Thirdly, I like it as it offers the variations of tastes. Moreover, it is not that much expensive to prepare and does not require o much effort to prepare. For all these reasons it is my favourite food.
Sample Answer 1: Dear Sir, I am writing this letter to your newspaper to protest about the development of our local airport where I live. My home is situated in Bogra city near the Bogra International Airport even more than two hundred people, including children and older people, are living here. There is a beautiful park in front of my home, where most people pass their leisure time playing, walking, and gossiping. A huge noise is created especially at night when the air plane comes or departure in the airport. If the number of flights is increased, the noise will also raise in the local area. This could result immense embarrassment on the people in particular for the children because they need quiet environment for their study purpose. Moreover, the airport authority wants to expand the area; so, our lovely park, which is essential for every person of this locality, will be diminished. For these reasons every person of our locality is against this proposed development. If you agree with me, please publish editorials to your newspaper to protest this unnecessary and detrimental development. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully, Shohag
Sample Answer: Dear Sir/ Madam, My name is Ravibabu and I am currently residing at Seven Hills. I use trains to commute for my work and the recently changed train timetable causes problem to get to my work on time. I used to get the train at 7:40 am from Seven Hills and usually reached at my destination around 8:50 am and it was about five minutes walk from the station to my workplace. It was more convenient to reach my office on time. The 7:40 AM train no longer stops at my station and I am forced to take either 7:15 AM or 7:58 AM train. If I am taking the train at 7:58 AM and arrive at my workplace by only 9:05 which is late for my office. The 7:15 AM train is too early to get in. I also checked with fellow passengers who are also struggling to get to the work on time. I request you revisit revised train timings and reinstate 7:40 AM train to stop at our station, which will enable me or fellow passengers to travel to work on time. I am looking forward to hearing a positive reply. Yours Sincerely, Ravibabu Sample Answer: Dear Sir/ Madam, I am writing this letter to inform you that I had given the radio for repair and it is still not ready even after one week. I had bought the radio from your shop as it is one of the best available shops. But, it was mere disappointment when the brand new radio wasn’t working as it should be. I talked to your representatives in the shop and they agreed to repair it within a couple of days. Now, it has been a week and radio is not yet ready. Whenever I call on shop phone number, one of your salesmen always promises to deliver the radio with in one day. But it was never delivered and all I got is apology and regret. Please repair the radio by day end today as it is already much delayed. If it is not possible, kindly provide me with a new radio of same branch and model. Thank You. Yours faithfully,
Dear Prof. Jandriya, I am writing to formally request to withdraw from two courses: Introduction to Elementary Education (EDU602) and Teaching Methods (EDU 619) The main reason for reducing my course load is that I am finding it extremely difficult to manage six courses. In the beginning of the term, I was perhaps overly optimistic about juggling both my full time studies and my part time job (20 hours/week). Because I really must work part time, I have no other choice but to decrease my course load. I am planning on taking the two courses during the summer semester, if they are available, so that I will be able to complete all the courses for the degree program by the following year. I would also like to request a tuition refund, and hope I am not too late to receive the full reimbursement. I am sorry for any inconveniences I have caused by this change in plans. This decision was not taken lightly, and I do appreciate the kind consideration you have shown to me. Thank you for your attention to these requests. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 277-9144. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely yours,
Model Answer: Dear Sir, I have been a part-time fitness instructor in your gym for four months. I was pleased to be offered the job, not only because I need to earn some extra money to cover my living expenses but also because I need some experiense in fitness training. It has been obvious to me that people often need help in using the gym equipment. However, it seems that the other trainers have not been encourage to offer assistance to club members. I offer as much as I can, but this means that I am constantly in demand and therefore, working harder than anyone else in the gym. This situation seems rather unfair. While I realise that members receive initial gym instruction, I feel that they also need ongoing help with the equipment. Could I suggest that a letter is sent to trainers promoting this? After all, personal attention of this kind makes people feel valued and may result in increased membership. Yours faithfully Donald Green
