FIVE-FOLD MINISTRY Ephesians 4:11-12 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ Eagle Worldwide's mission statement states that we are a team ministry with a heart to see "five-fold-fire-fight" teams raised up working together in unity to bring the blessings of the Lord across denominational lines. We believe that the Five-fold ministry as given to the Church by our Lord Jesus as described in Ephesians 4:11-12 is part of the restoration process that God is bring back to His church in these last days. True church government is represented by what the Lord laid out inEphesians 4:11-12 in the Office gifts of the Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher. No one office is better than the other but all have different roles/responsibilities, the purpose being the edification of the the Church. Below is a brief introduction to the Five-fold offices. If you would like more information, please contact us. Apostles: Give a foundation to the church. Their apostolic ministry involves preaching the word of God that moves in signs, wonders and miracles. The apostle is one characterized by wisdom the has vision for the whole body of Christ in the sphere of influence they move in. Apostles are the head over the apostolic network under their charge. Prophets: There is a difference between the O.T. and the N.T. prophet. He tells and he foretells. He is a preacher of the gospel, but also a revealer of God’s will. He speaks for God to the people, speaking the mind of God for the present, giving the Church the direction God wants them to go in. Ephesians 2:20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone The apostle and prophet form the foundation of the church and Church government, Christ being the chief cornerstone. Evangelist: The evangelist is a proclaimer of the good news. He has a passion for souls and a soul-winning ministry, whether it’s one or one million. He will have a compelling ministry to bring sinners to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Pastor: The pastors primary responsibility is to take care of the flock. They have the heart of the shepherd to tend, protect, feed and nurture the sheep under his care. While pastors do preach the word of God, their primary calling is preparing the Bride of Christ for the coming Groom. While most denominations reject the ministry of the Apostle and Prophet, the Evangelist and Pastor office has been widely received. The Pastor has been delegated the responsibilities of both the apostle and prophet, which is not biblical. Teacher: The teacher is the office that brings balance to the Body of Christ. He will have a heart to study, dissect and present the Word of God in such a way that makes it easily understandable to those who hear the message. Teacher’s have a love for the Word of God and a desire to study it in great depths, receiving deep revelation of God’s Word to teach and mature the Body.
