Job Title: Fine Arts (Art, Theater Arts) Instructor Reports to: Principal Days Per Year: 190 Salary: Based on years of experience Primary Purpose Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned Certified in English and Social Studies Experience: Completion of student teaching or approved internship Experience or training in Project Learning Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Strategies 1. Develop and implement project learning, rubric development, and standards based reporting. 2. Design projects that differentiate for the needs of all learners. 3. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administration regulation. 4. Assess student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities. 5. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP). 6. Plan and instruct following the iSchool model. 7. Employ timely and effective evaluation techniques. 8. Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. 9. Create and produce scope and sequence, projects and lesson plans 10. Utilize iSchool rubrics for all measurements, projects and assessments. Classroom Management and Organization 11. Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. 12. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the student handbook. 13. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. 14. Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials. Communication 15. Establish and maintain open lines of communication and positive working relations by conducting conferences with students, teachers, administrators, and parents.

16. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members. 17. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
