College Project: Feasibility Study in Making Ampalaya Ice Cream October 7, 2007 by Angeline Filipino 43 Comments Few text from our undergraduate feasibility study. 3.2.1 Product
Product Label
(I made that.)
A. Description of the Product Ampy Ice Cream is the name of the product. The name “Ampy” is derived from its main ingredient which is the ampalaya. It is a homemade frozen dessert, just like the time-honored dirty ice creams we see on the roads all over the world, flavored with mangoes, vanilla, chocolate, ube, melon, cheese, et cetera. Mention them all. What made our product distinctive to other ice creams is that, it is made from a nutritious vegetable called the ampalaya. It is colored green and is served on sugar cones or plastic cups for Php 3, delivered through ice cream carts. It undergoes a complex process, especially on reducing its bitter taste. Actually the company has preserved the bitterness of its main ingredients in a tolerable level to make it distinctive to other varieties of flavored ice cream. B. Uses of the Product Ampy Ice Cream would be very beneficial for all ages and sexes. It will serve as a delicious snack for every person. Since many people perceive its bitterness, Ampy Ice Cream Company had undergone a great challenge on converting the vegetable to an ice cream with the intention of changing their views on its bitterness the moment they taste Ampy Ice Cream. Ampy Ice Cream would be of great help to the alleviation of the economy, especially to the local agriculture in Bicol. The suppliers of ampalaya are encouraged to increase their production for utilization, thus
creating a great reputation in their line of business. It will create different products out of ampalaya and eventually encourage people, especially the children to discover the benefits they will get in eating ampalaya notwithstanding its bitterness. It will also develop the tourism projects of the country because it will be known for a unique ice cream product which is the Ampy Ice Cream. Tourists will be interested to this product and they might introduce it to their fellowmen, thus creating ways for opportunities. Aside from the fact that of all the regions in the Philippines the Bicol Region is known to offer the cheapest selling price, this information will surely create an immense investment opportunity in the region. ACKNOWLEDGMENT This feasibility study would not have been a reality without the help of our Almighty God, and assistance from certain people and the researcher’s dedication. The researcher would like to thank the following with deepest gratitude: To the panelists, Dr. Edwin P. Bernal, CPA, Dr. Eufemia C. Ceguera, CPA, Dr. Nora F. Bisana, CPA, for giving their comments and suggestions which were very helpful in the completion of this study, for letting the researchers sharpen their minds in business feasibility, proper accounting, its importance in the decision-making process and for achieving one of the essential 4 Cs of the University, that is—competence; To Ms. Pat N. Felizmenio of Bicol Science Centrum, for referring the researchers to the Department of Science and Technology regarding the process of testing the product’s microbiological status; To the Department of Science and Technology of the province of Camarines Sur, for accommodating the researchers in the actual testing and analysis of the product; To our dearest teacher and second mother in school, Ms. Helenita Q. Ruiz, CPA, MBA, for giving the researchers an idea on the inventory process; To our dearest friends and teachers Ms. Karen M. de los Santos, CPA and Ms. May Mozenda C. Mendoza, CPA, for letting the researchers used their house, facilities, for providing them with ideas as well as foodstuffs; To Ms. Ana Cruz of Brgy. Calauag, Naga City, for giving the researchers ideas on the ice cream making process, its marketability and also for making the Ampy Ice Cream very delicious; To Mr. Gil Dizon of Dizon’s Ice Cream, Ice Cream Makers at Lerma St. and Abella St. Naga City, for providing the researchers with additional ideas on the ice cream making process and its marketability; To Mr. Angelo Perez, for letting the researchers used his house and personal computer; To Mr. Richard Pardiñas, for providing the researchers with a safe ride on their respective destinations; To Ms. Sheryl R. Resoles, for assisting the researchers on gathering the raw materials, supplies and other necessary information in the Naga City Public Market; To ETC, for accommodating the researchers with a place for the taste testing; To the respondents of the taste test and survey, especially to Mr. Oroseo R. Tuy II, CPA, Mr. Diggs Villabroza and Mr. Leo Borras for their comments and suggestions on the product’s marketability; Lastly, to the researchers’ families, for the unending moral and financial support in the fulfillment of this feasibility study.

February 23, 2010 at 8:34 am Pwede naman po. Ang process po namin dito was the same as the process in making the “dirty ice cream” yun traditional na nialako sa kalye with apa. Hindi naman po marami sugar ang nilagay namin dito. Bakit po? 1 1 i Rate This Reply

March 21, 2010 at 6:37 pm this one is a related study. kunti rin nakuha namin sa mga books. mas marami sa internet. keep on searching na lang kaya niyo yan. with regards to the scope and limitation, kayo mas nakaalam nyan kasi that’s your study. If wala kayo idea may archives naman ata sa library nyo regarding feasibility studies (past feasibility studies from your schoolmates) and makakatulong yun sa inyo. I’m sorry pero di ko po maemail sainyo yun hinihingi nyo. Di naman kasi ako may ari nun mag-isa group kasi kami. I hope you understand. Kaya nyo yan, ask your profs dyan sa baste for help i’m sure they will help you naman Karla. Ok? Think positive. Mahirap talaga gumawa ng Feasbility Study (lalo na ang product natin e masyado stereotype na di feasible) pero kung pagtutulungan nyo po, sigurado ako magiging easy lang sainyo lahat. Nasa sa inyo na yan. Good luck sa defense nyo. 0 1 i Rate This Reply

January 26, 2011 at 8:01 am Hey!!! I actually have not yet put on my business. I’ve only done feasibility study when I was in school because it’s a requirement. Heheheh!!! but if you have a 200k worth of capital, one thing i know is that, you may try the food cart business. for as low as 50k you’ll already their franchisee. but anyway, you have to weigh things out, you can actually do it by your own, start a business with your own, no need of franchising, hence, you may want to be called the franchisor. Isn’t that great God Bless!!!
You just need a well thought of feasibility study. You can do it! 0 0

January 26, 2011 at 7:56 am Good! The initial plan was to make it a powder but, we’re not that kinda expert on that thing so we just end up doing things as it is.. the traditional way… and as to your question?
It’s a group secret
I’m not actually the sole author of our
project so I’m very hesitant to share secrets. Hope you understand. A lot have been requesting me to reveal it but ooo…. I just can’t do it. I’m sorry! Peace!!! You may want to explore and experiment… you’ll enjoy the process Bless!! 0 0 i Rate This Reply
