Fault Code 422 Coolant Level - Data Erratic, Intermittent, Intermittent, or Incorrect CODES

EFFECT

Coolant Level - Data Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect. Both signals are open or shorted to ground.

Loss of coolant level fault indication.

Marine QSB6.7 CM2250 - Engine Coolant Level Sensor Circuit Circuit Description: The electronic control module (ECM) provides a 5 volt supply to the engine coolant level sensor using a common sensor supply circuit. The ECM also provides a ground on the sensor return circuit. The engine coolant level sensor  provides a signal to the ECM on the engine coolant level sensor signal circuit. This sensor signal voltage changes based on the coolant level in the expansion tank. Component Location: The coolant level sensor is usually located in the heat exchanger top tank. Conditions for Running the Diagnostics: • This diagnost diagnostic ic runs c contin ontinuousl uously y when th the e keysw keyswitch itch is O ON. N. Conditions for Setting the Fault Codes: The ECM detects intermittent or incorrect data from the coolant level sensor or circuit.

Action Taken When the with Fault Code is Active: • For engines equipped equipped S SmartCraft™, martCraft™, SmartCraft™ will display a CHECK ENGINE warning on tthe he system tachometer and Vessel View™, if equipped, immediately, when the diagnostic runs and fails. • Coolant Coolant level level fault indicatio indication n is lost.
