1 General Descr iption of Package 6 Project Package 6 of the Doha Expressway mainly covers the existing East Industrial Road  Alignment. The section of the road included in this contract, starts almost 850 m south of the Industrial Roundabout up to its junction with the extension of Al Muntazah Street 33 with a total length of about 3.5 km. The scope of work includes the upgrading of the existing East Industrial Road to provide a three lane in each direction for the mainline traffic. The local traffic will be served through a continuous service roads network providing safe and efficient movement between the main line traffic to the adjacent existing facilities along the route. scope of works include: a) Roads b) Junctions and interchanges c) Hard and soft landscape d) Potable Water supply and reticulation systems e) Irrigation supply and distribution systems f)

Wastewater system

Before starting survey works,every Qatar national benchmark will be checked. Accroding checked result some benchmark not ues for this survey works.Benchmark of the above table is the first class control point for the construction. Some new benchmark will be established base on the condition of site survey during construction.

8 General Surveying Metho d 8.1 Surveying Method for GPS 8.1.1 Static Survey GPS static measurements, is the use of measurement-based GPS receivers to locate a measurement. Mainly used to create various kinds of control net. Static GPS measurements carried out that the GPS receiver antenna in the location of the observation process is static, in data processing, it will be the location of the antenna as a receiver does not change over time, the amount of change, through the received satellite data to seek a change in the coordinates of points to be determined. In the measurement, GPS static measurements of the specific observation model is more than one receiver at different stations on the static synchronous observation time from 20 minutes to 10 hours range. 8.2 Surveying Method for Total Station 8.2.1 Fixed Stati on Set up total station on a know benchmark. The tripod is erected on the benchmark and strictly centered. Input station and backsight point number and coordinates, and input instrument height. Observation backsight point and measurement coordinates record, and checking other benchmarks. If checking point coordinates exceed 10mm shall be re-set up station. The fixed station relevant Technical Index, please as following Figure1:“Sketch of Fixed Station”. 

8.3 Surveying Metho d for Leveling 8.3.1 Closed Leveling From the known elevation point of the beginning, and finally closed in fact point to the standard route. Single survey and middle thread reading method was adopted for the leveling survey, the sequence of reading is back-front-front-back. The reading is saved to the five places of decimal. 8.3.2 Annexed leveling From the known elevation point of beginning and end another known elevation point of standard route. 9 Process of Survey Works 9.1 Benchmarks 9.1.1 Tempor ary Bench marks a) Survey used instruments GPS and total station should be adopted for horizontal coordinates. Total station and level instrument should be adopted for vertical. b) Survey Method Horizontal control should be established by GPS static survey, opening and closing traverses, resection, intersection, free-station etc. Vertical control should be established by closed and annexed leveling line, total station triangulation etc. c) Tolerance Horizontal : Points position ±10mm, relative total length closing error of traverse 1/35000. Vertical : ± 4

d) Results Submit  A RFI should be submitted for engineer acceptance, RFI including temporary benchmarks results, calculation processing for Horizontal and vertical.

9.1.2 Maint enance and Monito rin g for Benchmarks Site surveyors should be regular maintenance and monitoring the site benchmarks, Maintenance including point name, safety fence etc. Monitoring including horizontal and vertical coordinates checked. a) Monitoring Time Horizontal monitoring frequency: should be carried out every six months Vertical monitoring frequency: should be carried out every three months. b) Used Instrument Horizontal check should be used RTK-GPS Vertical check should be used level instrument. c) Checking Method Horizontal coordinates checking method: Set up GPS base station on a national benchmark 560046 provided by center for GIS. data were measured on each points. With min. 20 minute interval or counter check. The observation section were not less than 5 second and data were recorded . Vertical elevation checking method: One closed leveling line origins and terminates on the national benchmark 560046, elevation is based leveling 570001 and 560046.  Single survey and middle thread reading method was adopted for the leveling survey, the sequence of reading is back-front-front-back. The reading is saved to the five places of decimal. Relevant specifications were followed in the progress of survey. d) Tolerance Horizontal : Points position ± 20mm+1ppm Vertical : ± 4

9.2 Earthworks 9.2.1 Setti ng-Out for Excavatio n a) Used Instrument Horizontal setting-out should be used RTK-GPS or Total Station. b) Setting-out Method The excavation coordinates for center line, boundary line and key points from the approved shop drawing, are transfer into the GPS data collector or total station. The setting out points shall be show at intervals of not more than 25m along the setting out line. But also every key point must be staked out. c) Tolerance Setting-out points horizontal tolerance ± 50mm. d) Results Submit  A RFI should be submitted for engineer acceptance, RFI including deviation drawing, survey data and soft copy. 9.2.2 Final Survey for Formation Level a) Used Instrument Horizontal checked should be used RTK-GPS or Total Station Vertical checked should be used RTK-GPS, Total Station or Level Insrument. b) Checking Methods EXW-P006-0000-GS-SHC-MT-00003 Rev.1

Formation level checked for concrete works Building: Max grid of 10m x 10m,and every key point must be checked. c) Tolerance Horizontal : ± 50mm, Vertical : - 150mm / +10mm. d) Results Submit  A RFI should be submitted for engineer acceptance, RFI including deviation drawing, survey data and soft copy.

9.3 Concr ete Works 9.3.1 Blinding Setting-out for Blinding a) Used Instrument RTK-GPS (RTK-GPS only horizontal and vertical ues level instrument) or Total Station should be adopted for this works. b) Setting-out Method Setting-out coordinates for centerline, boundary lines and key points for blinding, screed, base slab, wall and roof slab from the approved shop drawing (please see appendix). are transfer into the GPS data collector or total station. In each section min. 6 point shall be marked / staked out. Random check can be done any time by SST. 9.3.5 Inspectio n after for mwo rks comp leted a) Used Instrument Total station and level instrument should be adopted for this works. b) Inspection Method  After formworks completed, survey actual horizontal coordinates and level for boundary lines and key point. Comparison between the “checked Survey Results” and the “design Results”. Where the difference between “checked Survey Results” and “design Results” not exceed the tolerance the formworks is ok, if exceed the tolerance the formworks shall be adjusted. c) Tolerance Horizontal : ± 10mm

a) Used Instrument RTK-GPS should be adopted for this works. b) Survey Method Setting-out Method: Coordinates for centerline, boundary lines and key points from the approved shop drawing, are transfered into GPS data collector. Center line and both boundary lines shall be show at intervals of not more than 25m, and every key point must be staked out. OGL Survey Method: Each cross section not more than 25 m and every cross section for 5 point shall be survey. 10 Quality Assu rance Procedure 10.1 Management and Respon sibi liti es 10.1.1 Purpose The purpose of this procedure is to carry through a whole course control the whole process of the survey works so that a satisfactory survey result can be achieved in accordance with contract.

10.1.2 Respon sibi lit ies Survey Manager shall fully take charge of survey work of the project, and implement the regulations in quality assurance plan in the survey work and achieve survey result conforming to the requirement of Project Specification. Chief surveyor shall participate in the planning of “survey technical design”, and take charge of on-site survey, calibration of survey instruments and checking of survey results. Site surveyor team shall be responsible for conducting on-site survey works. Office surveyor shall be responsible for the post-processing of data and preparation of drawings.

10.2 Qualit y Assu rance Process The quality assurance process includes survey planning, survey preparation, on-site survey, post-processing data and acceptance checking.

10.2.1 Survey Planni ng  As per contract requirement, survey manager and chief surveyor shall participate in planning works, includes the following: General description and scope of work Technical and quality requirement Determination of program and completion time Work method Survey preparation includes: joint checking of drawings, method, quality control index, instrument maintenance, and personnel training.

as per relevant specifications. Effective measures should be taken for the protection of the instrument in storage and delivery. Special attention should be paid to maintain accuracy and sensitivity of the instruments. Survey records should be made in a uniform form and includes all necessary information. For topography survey refer to plan In-survey.

10.2.3 Post-pro cessing Chief survey shall make further arrangements for data and documents review and check relevant site record and calculation data. Drawer shall cooperate with each other and make self-assessment. Survey team leader shall make final checking. Survey superintendent shall be responsible for preparation of “technical report”, checking of relevant survey record and data calculation.

10.2.4 Acceptance Checking Team leader shall make final acceptance checking after self-checking of on-site survey team. Checking content: content of works fulfils specification requirements, survey method should be suitable for the work, result drawing conform to requirement of construction works, survey data and document be complete and correct. The survey result shall be self-checked by surveyor, reviewed by checker, verified by survey superintendent and approved by survey manager finally. Final acceptance and submittal: All survey products together with relevant records shall be submitted to QC department of the project for approval. And survey team shall print out the survey product and submit it to Engineers for approval.

10.3 Resources Management 10.3.1 Personnel Traini ng a) Training programs will be prepared. Such program shall be established taking into account any impact resulting from changes in technology and other survey processes. b) Training shall be provided to ensure that personnel are aware of the importance and relevance of their activities. Records of the training are maintained.

10.3.2 Instru ment Contro l a) All survey instruments shall be selected and controlled with consideration to range, accuracy and tolerance to accomplish the required results b) Survey instrument shall as a minimum be calibrated as stated on the valid calibration certificate , and record of calibration should be filed. If it is indicated the an instrument is out of calibration, it will immediately be handed over to the responsible chief surveyor so a re-calibration can be carried out. c) All survey instruments shall be calibrated, adjusted and maintained at prescribed intervals or prior to use against internationally or certified nationally recognized standards. Where no such standards the basis and method for calibration shall be documented

10.4 Control of Document Relevant survey document will be controlled as per document control procedures. The document

management

system

will

cover

control

over

approval,

publishing,

communication, change, maintenance of relevant supporting document to assure validity, integrity and applicability of document. Special attention should be paid to laws, specifications and standards concerning survey works. Change and revision of documents: Any change and revision of documents shall be implemented by approval department. And revised documents shall be identified clearly. Document controller will be assigned to manage the relevant survey documents and will be in charge of management, handling, collection, catalog, maintenance of relevant documents.

10.5 Quality Record Relevant quality record shall be prepared and shall be provided to engineer as per their requirement. And a quality controller shall be assigned for the arrangement, catalog, filing and maintenance of quality record. Information of relevant points should be maintained.

11.4 Emergency Procedures In the event of an accident, the following shall be activated: The area supervisors shall act as the Rescue Team Leader and attend to the accident He shall inform the emergency controller of the accident In the absence of the Project Manager, the Construction Manager shall act as the Emergency Controller The emergency controller shall alert the emergency response team, comprising of first aiders to attend the accident when required. The emergency controller shall alert the fire fighting team should there be a fire.
