Exit Interview for Bureau of Customs Jordan Oliver R. Luberio

OJT

MISTG - ICT

What department you are assigned?  I was assigned in MISTG Management Information System and Technology Group to practice and work with hardware/software related activities. Find out the experience as an OJT

 What kind of division?  A division that assumes direct management and control of Information Technology facilities and responsible for overall supervision of the different operating units.  Described the division (pros and cons).  The division’s advantages are they control most of internet connection in every office, control every administrator in different computer owned by the bureau and also managed the hardware for maintenance/repair and software for legit original applications. While the disadvantage is that they lack the man power to do lot of request in the end of the day.  What can you say about the working place/environment you are into?  The place looks great, always check by the chief in monitoring the tidiness especially for the guest who conjure meetings at the 2nd floor and they operate the 5S which is a task for each individuals to maintain cleanliness. These 5S’ are sort, systematize, shine, standardize and sustain.  What about the people you work with? Superior and fellow OJT (What are their attitudes?)  The people who I work with are very kind and generous they always courage us to keep moving forward because it is the only way you learn things more, after the hard work we get free snacks and food. The superior is the best teacher I’ve ever met because he is fun and caring, his name is Engr. Creos L. Magallanes. The OJTs are very competent plus they are helpful to the co-OJTees sometimes there are moments that they pass other request into more capable hands and the easy one will be theirs other hard task will be on ours.  Anybody in the division who really stands out for you?  None I think so, because people in the division treat each as a family and no one is self-centered if that the question meant but in performance everyone does.  Is there any conflict within the division? Intrigue?  None I ever heard of but the history of conflict in the division was confidential.  Did you enjoy working there? Why?

 Yes because I learn much with guidelines from the employees and we’re always go to different offices meet other good people while working on a computer, it’s fun and very enjoyable. Culture  The routine, how things work in your department?  In the morning, always greet you sirs and ma’ams good morning, after lunch you go to comfort room and brush the teeth, if you somewhere important or not you should always ask the permission of the superior and tell the superior when it’s time to leave the premises. Devastating experience/negative experience  There is one time when we are in the Accounting Division where we repairing the computer’s system32 it crush somehow and turn into a boot loop that cannot be open, I’m so worried because the data may not be recovered so we took the CPU fix the problem inside the ICT building. We finally backup the files that she needs for work and we fix the CPU’s corrupted system with the help of our superiors. Memorable experience? Why?  The most memorable experience that I can’t forget was on December it was the cool Christmas party of the Bureau but only employees are allowed to enter, we are considered to attend because we were use as props men. On that night the team of OCOM won the dance competition and take some picture with the Commissioner of Bureau of Customs Sr. Nicanor Faeldon, my hand was place on the shoulder of Sr. and that was cool ever. After that, they given us a part of the prize money for being a props men during the competition. “Is Customs corrupt?” – have you seen one?  Probably not because I’ve seen a lot of papers with some values and prices for the export and import of products when we are put in the front desk to assist the people from different companies. I say money runs in this agency but it doesn’t mean that its corrupt I think it’s a business that flow money for finance, employees and other things that are needed for the bureau.

After graduation, you are given a chance to work at BOC, would you pursue working? Why?  I will pursue working here after I graduate because I have much to learn, who knows every division inside the bureau and this agency offer a good experience that I want for my course. For example, you already hired/accepted and you are an employee in the same division where you used to work. What improvement(s) you want to make in the department?  I want to improve the scheduling of who’s going to work on this like activity management and in programming related probably I want to create a system that the employees may send their request through it for less busier lines on phones also list the request that are done confirmed by the sender Any comments on your department/people at your department?  I intended to wish that they never change as they are right now because I never thought that work can be enjoyable with ridiculousness at the same be responsible for work. If I ask what score you should give I say 9 out of 10 consider it as the best score because perfection is hard to achieve. What are the learning’s you gained here at BOC?  I gain skills that help me to apply different companies with programming information

technology related and technical use of different devices/hardware for offices or work stations. I attain good communication skill when it comes to information that people they needed like clearance, export and import of product. Also I learned to follow more instruction neatly with a step by step process to accomplish task and challenges.
