 ABOU  ABOU  HE COMPOSER  COMP OSER  Pascual Marquina Narro  was a composer of Spanish descent and was quite prolific. He wrote

primarily orchestral and operatic works and is best known for his paso his paso dobles .

 ABOU  ABOU  HE ARRANG AR RANGER  ER   Albert Wang  studied the viola in Guangzhou Conservatory of Music in 1972 in Guangzhou, China. Upon graduation in 1975, he held the position of principal violist in the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra until 1986 when he became a freelance composer and music producer. He is one of the most prolific composers in China. His works include Te Encyclopedia of Dancing Music   series, Te Fire of Youth, Youth , based on Japanese V series drama music, and Chinese Folk Song Temes for Orchestra . Tese works

 were commercially commercia lly recorded and a nd over eight eig ht million copies were sold in China.  Albert Wang Wang also was a music arranger and composer for V shows in China for over 20 years. Mr. Wang received numerous awards in China and Hong Kong for his achievement in music compositions. Most recently, Mr. Wang studied recording engineering and received a Sound Design Professional Certificate from New York York University in 2006. He lives in New York City with his wife and daughter daug hter..

PROGRAM NOES Te paso doble  (or paso Te paso  (or paso dobles ) is a Spanish couples dance. It is highly stylized and modeled after the entrance of the matador at a bullfight or his passes

right before the bull is killed. España Cañi  is one of the most famous tunes used for the dance.  Written  W ritten around 1925, it means “Gypsy Spain.” Spain.”

PERFORMANCE SUGGESIONS  With dance music, rhythm and tempo are of most importance. Te tempo must be selected so that the dancers are not hurried. Tey should be able to execute their moves with grace and

fluidity. Rhythms should be played with great precision and accuracy, not allowing the tempo to speed up or slow down. Play lightly, as if the orchestra itself were dancing.
