Magnet Shroom - character of the popular game "Plants vs Zombies", that was developed and released by PopCap Games.

To create a toy with a height of 10 cm you must crochet with single yarn using a 1.25 mm hook. The stuffing material used in this toy is polyester wadding. The piece of felt must be 1.5 mm thick.

This pattern is for personal use only. Sharing information from this pattern is prohibited.

Abbreviations Ch - chain Sl - slip stitch Sc - single crochet Dc - double crochet Tr - treble crochet HDc - half double crochet INC - increase INVDEC - invisible decrease Tr INVDEC - treble invisible decrease BLO - back loops only FLO - front loops only

All amigurumi toys are crocheted with tight stitches. Avoid small holes when stretching crochet fabric, if there are some tiny holes, use a smaller size hook. To avoid seams, all details are crocheted in a spiral without slip stitch and lifting loops. There is a chance that you will lose the beginning of the row; to avoid this, use a marker. It can be a colored pin or thread of contrasting color.

Tip 1 The toy must be crocheted with tight stitches, to be sure that there won't be any holes through which stuffing material can be seen.

Tip 2 To keep track of the beginning of the row, use a marker. Pin marker to the last loop of the row. Every new row must be finished with a loop at the marker.

Now you must connect these 7Sc (situated on the base) to the 7Sc on the bend: crochet 7Sc, taking loops on the base and the bend of the magnet.

Crochet 27Sc in the round on the right side of the base, and 7Sc into the transverse loops on the matching side of the bend.

Image 6

This is how you'll get the first circular row of the top right part of the magnet.

All details are ready, and we are ready to assemble!

Assembly Sew the magnet onto the top of the shroom, thrusting the needle back and forth through the shroom, so as to tighten the shape of the shroom. Fix and cut the yarn. Hide its end inside detail. Stuff the stem of the shroom with stuffing material.

Assembly

Take some soft wire, fold it a few times and curl it up to make it more rigid. Make a ring stand, cut excess wire. Image 27

With the end of yarn that we left before on the light brown stand, start crocheting a row of slip stitches, in order to connect the stand to the base of the shroom. Capture back loops only on the light brown stand and front loops only on the base of the shroom.

Image 28

When you have crocheted a few slip stitches, insert the ring stand. Continue connecting.

Image 29

Hide the end of yarn inside detail.

Image 30

11

Assembly

Magnet-shroom is almost done. The last things are the eyes and eyebrows.

Image 31

Image 32

Cut two similar eyes out of black felt. Put them symmetrically, a bit lower than the bend of the magnet, and sew them with white thread, making a few stitches to embroider the pupils. Image 33

Image 34

Image 35

12

Assembly

We're done with eyes. Proceed to eyebrows.

Image 36

Eyebrows must be sewn with gray yarn, using a needle to make back stitches.

Image 37

If the toy is meant to be a souvenir, you can cut the yarn in the middle of each stitch. This will make the eyebrows look fluffy. But be careful, they can be easily removed if you pull them.

Assembly

Congratulations, your Magnet-shroom is ready!
