Assalamualaikumwarahmatullahiwabarakatuh The honorable Adjudicators, The honorable comittee And all my dear friends , First of all, let us praise Allah SWT for His mercy and bless that we can get together in this speech contest. Secondly, may peace be upon our prophet Muhammad SAW and all his followers. I’am Sayyidah Fadhila Latorumo. On this nice opportunity, I would like to deliver my speech entitled:

“THE IMPORTANCE OF CLEAN SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT FOR STUDENTS” School is a place where one can learn so many things. It helps the students to grow up into a responsible person. Every day the students spend a lot of time in school for learning and playing. The school inveronment here is a combination of physical conditions that include natural and human resources. Environmental hygiene has a great influence and interest on health and comfort. For example, if the environment is clean, then when we can study well, we’ll feel comfort and it will run well, and vice versa. A clean environment is a start of healthy life. In fact, the awareness of maintaining the cleanliness of the environment in our communities is lacking.This caused by our ignorance of keeping the environmental hygiene in school. Like littering, and keep the cleanliness of classroom, toilets, canteen and so on. In addition to getting better health status, healthy environment can bear more creativity. bright ideas also appear. Concentration is maintained ..not distracted by the scent of smell .. beautiful scenery was pleasant to look, not full of trash scattered too uncomfortable feeling becomes. Due to ignorance of the students about the importance of maintaining hygiene in school environment, encourage the creation of a sense of their uncareness to environmental hygiene. Every student always expect the work by other peole. There’s no responsibility. In our school, we can see in

everyclass, everyroom has their own trashplace and slogans everywhere about the importance of environmental hygiene, but there’s no awareness at all. They’re just as wall poster. There’s one of tagline says “The cleanliness of school environment is the responsibility of the entire school community” it has possitive and negative means, it’s possitive cause it’ll rise up our spirit to be more take care of our school environment. But, it can be misinterpreted that hygiene is not their responsibility alone. So, they may thingk thatt it shouldn’t them to create the school environmental hygiene. Althought school has equip cleaning tools but because of students idleness, this thing doesn’t really make big impact. They only like displaying things. Environment, not only covers the area around the house alone but includes the environment in which we work, school environment. Etc. Imagine if we are a school that is super dirty, cleanliness of the room and around unguarded, and littered with garbage and odors. CAN WE LEARN effectively? Certainly not this is a small example of the importance of keeping the environment clean. The level of public awareness is very small. This is evidenced by the high occurrence of cases of diseases related to environmental hygiene such as: Disease Dengue fever (DHF), Malaria, diarrhea, respiratory inflammation, dysentery, infectious skin disease and many other diseases. How do I invite people around us to participate ..? Environmental cleanliness around the house is the duty of all citizens, as was the cleanliness of the school environment obligations of all students, teachers and principal, at the office of the duty of all employees. And been impossible if not equally maintain. Thus the need for a change in the habits of everyone's awareness and desire to care about the environment. All great things start from small things ..agree ..? So, Start by making a change of ourselves, sometimes without us knowing many people around who pay attention to what we do. Then do a new systematic approach, slowly so that people around willing to participate in keeping the environment clean. It is indeed not easy. Give understandings that can change the thinking They horizon. As the conclusion, clean school environment is the responsibility of all elements of school. Not only cleaning service officer but also principle, teachers and all students should make a commitment to maintain the cleanliness. Not only by talking but acting. That ‘s all from me. Thank you
