Good morning Ladies and Gentleman. Before starting this debate, first of all, let’s thank to God because of His blessing we are able to attend here. And now, I will read the sequence of this debate. This debate contains 3 sessions: 1. The first one is opening and it’s still going on right now. 2. The second session is introduction. And now, I would like introduce the participants to you all. On the right side of me, there an affirmative team and on my left side there a negative team. 3. Then, the third is question and answer session. 4. And the last session is closing. Now, let the first speaker from affirmative team to explain the topic. The time is yours. First speaker of affirmative team: Thanks for the time that given to us to participate in this debate. Let me introduce my team: 1. My name is Aditya Indra Dwi Cahyanto as the first speaker. And I’ll deliver why we chose this topic. 2. And my friend, Dewi Nur Hidayah as second speaker. She will deliver the arguments in the pro side. 3. And the last is Gilang as the third speaker. He will deliver the conclusion. We choose the topic of social network because nowadays social networking is very popular. There are many positive and negative impacts from this site in the internet. After discuss this topic, we hope that we can increase the positive side and vanished the bad effect. Moderator: Thank you. That’s the opinion from affirmative team. And it’s time for the first speaker of negative team to gives your opinion. The time is yours. First speaker of negative team: Thank you. First of all, let me introduce my team: 1. My name is Junani Linggar as the first speaker. I’ll deliver the limit of the topic. 2. There is my friend, Dinda Septiana as the second speaker. She will deliver the arguments in the contra side. 3. And the last is Hanisa Rizkamilna as the third speaker. She will deliver the conclusion. The social network is a social structure made up of individuals or organizations which are tied or connected by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as friendship, kinship, common interest, financial exchange, dislike sexual relationship, or relationships of beliefs, knowledge or prestige. Actually, we never realize that actually the social network brings us to the bad life. It has a lot of disadvantages especially in education and lifestyle sectors.

Moderator: Okay, that’s the opinion from negative team. The next turn is from the second speaker of affirmative team to gives your arguments. The time is yours. Second speaker of affirmative team: All we know that social network has very much positive impact. In the educational sector, there are some benefits, such as for the learning discussion media. Many students sometimes feel like they’re not able to solve their task. So, they can solve their problem by discussions in social network with their friends or another people who could help. Another advantage is the social network can increase the students’ creativity. Given this social networking teens accelerated to create a work to attract the attention of other users. That way, students will be stimulated to hone their skills. For example by writing an article, or post on a blog. The third advantage is more quickly Information access. With the social networking, students can exchange information among users. They will more easily access information that related to academic and non-academic. An example is information about the existence of a contest, information about school enrollment, and others. Then, social network can train to communicate with each other. It will increase communication among users, even enrich language skills because of the possibility to make contact with the youth from different parts of the world. The next benefit is to increase visual reasoning. It includes how individuals perceive and process it visually until reaches a conclusion. Several studies have shown that individuals who received training through computer simulations in the form will show better performance in practice in the real world than individuals who do not perform the simulation. Today, teens are better at multitasking than previous generations. This seems related to improving the visual information that must be processed at the same time as when they interact with the internet. From the lifestyle sectors we can also find a lot of advantages from the social network. The first one is to help building self-esteem. Through the social network, teens can learn attitude how to communicate with other people well so they are not embarrassing their self. They are also can practice to do positive things so their self-esteem not be underestimated. Another benefit is to increase confidence. Social network can help teens to grow up into a person that having high confidence in their life. Did you ever know why? Because they have been accustomed to communicate with other friends in the social network, so they having no sense of inferior.

The next is by join a group; they can develop a sense of independence and increase positive selfexpression. We know that for now, there are many kinds of groups that offer us to join them. It is permitted if we make sure that the group brings the positive impact to our self. For example we join on a group that has an activity for helping victims of natural disasters. The last is social network can increase solidarity among users. Teens can communicate with other users continuously, so there will be a high sense of brotherhood among them. Beside, social network also can help to increase critical thinking and making decision. Frequently involved in discussions among users can make teenagers think more critically. So that in making decisions, teenagers can consider the pros and cons before they take the decisions. Moderator: Thank you. How about the arguments from negative team? For the second speaker of negative team, the time is yours. Second speaker of negative team: Social network has many bad effect for teens. In education sectors, it can reduce time for study. Through the Internet and open access social networking sites, students will forget the time. They waste their time just that is in social networking. In the social network we can also fall on things that are not good due to lack of supervision from parents. For example a view or transfer images / video that should not be seen by teenagers. Level of language comprehension becomes impaired. For teenagers there are no rules of spelling and grammar on the social networking site .Thus making their own as they wish to communicate with their own language without a care about good grammar in communicating. It is slowly but surely killing the good communication skills in the real world interact but it also kills their writing skills in accordance with standard and correct spelling in school. This is quite alarming for the development of adolescents who should learn socialization with the environment instead spend more time to surf in cyberspace with your friends on social networking community, which on average discussing something that is not important. It makes ability of student interaction is decreases. In addition to educational use of social networking overload can also affect lifestyle for teenagers. They become lazy to worship and communicate in the real world, because it is too preoccupied with his new friends in social networking. Until at last abandon the obligations that should be done by children. Social networking sites on the Internet allows users to have their own world, this will make children more selfish. Children become aware and concerned with the surrounding environment because their time is spent in front of the net. And eventually result in less children do not even empathize with their real life environment. Their sensitivity to the surrounding environment to be murdered his pleasure to his friends on social networking sites. Internet access to open social networking sites clearly affect the financial condition of the

students is not uncommon for students to use their tuition money to go to the cafe just to open a social networking site only. These can be categorized as a waste, because it uses the money unproductively. Social networking sites like fertile ground for Internet predators in crime. We never know if they found a friend who is really well-intentioned people to make friends, and we never know if the friend is giving real identity as a real world situation. When a child is 100% trusted friend on a social networking site then this is very likely to jeopardize the situation of children from crimes both physically and psychologically. There are many bad impacts not only in the education and lifestyle, but also in other life sector. Until now, there are a lot of victim of the crime of the social networks. Almost whole teens waste their time to do something that useless for their self. So it can destroy their brain work. And the worst thing is it can destroy the moral attitude of our country.
