Unit 6 | Reading Read the text. Match the event and the order it happened.

Jumping Off the Empire State Building Have you ever rappelled down a skyscraper? I have, and it was down the Empire State Building in New York! This isn't the highest building in the world, but it is high enough for me. I agreed to jump off the tower to raise money for charity, but I wanted to change my mind when I woke up that morning. In the elevator on the way to the top, my legs were trembling. When I got to loor 102, I felt very nervous. I kept wondering if it was really happening. Why did I agree to this? The elevator doors opened and there was my crew waiting. There was no turning back now. As I walked to the edge of the building, I tried to keep cool. My instructor was talking to me all the time. I was scared, but I didn't want to back out because people were watching me on TV. A few minutes later, I was ready to ''jump.'' You don't really jump when you rappel; you sit in the harness and then move over the edge. My instructor shouted, ''Here goes ... 3, 2, 1, you're cool, Bob.'' I wanted to scream, but I didn't. And I didn't look down. In my head I was saying, ''You're OK. It will all be over soon. Just go one step at a time.'' After a few minutes I started laughing. It was my nerves, but I still didn't look down. I rappelled gently and didn't think about anything except getting to the ground. It seemed to take forever. On the ground, there were a lot of people waiting to congratulate me. The irst thing I did was kiss my wife. A reporter asked me about the experience, and I said, ''I'll never do that again.'' 1. 5
