PMI AIR RESCUE Helicopter BO-105 BO-105 helicopter is a lightweight, versatile, twin-engine, made by Bölkow of Stuttgart, Germany. Production resumed by Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB), which became part of Eurocopter. Eurocopter produce the BO-105 until 1997. The production line later replaced BO-105 EC 135 production line.

Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) has 7 (seven) units as a fleet of helicopters that help services at the time of the disaster or emergency in a normal situation. At times of disaster, PMI uses helicopters to distribute aid, evacuate victims and transporting PMI volunteers into areas not accessible by road. In normal times, P MI using helicopters as air ambulances. Eg traffic acc ident victims evacuated to the hospital.

PMI on Alert for helicopter air ambulance service on major events such as Eid Fitr, Christmas and New Year. The service is First Aid and evacuation of victims to the hospital.

In the tsunami victims relief operations in the Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra, using helicopters capable of reaching all points PMI disaster sites in the Mentawai islands by distributing some 10,000 packets of food supplies and family. Carry about 200 volunteers, doctors, and evacuate disaster victims in order to get further treatment in hospital.

Disaster relief operations more quickly and effectively because of the use of this helicopter. Operating aid to landslide distribution Ciwidey Bandung regency, West Java in March 2010 is the first operation using helicopters. Furthermore, PMI uses helicopters to tsunami disaster relief operations in the Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra in June 2011.
