MANAGEMENT: Founder of Circuit Techniques Inc. a company dedicated to custom products per customer’s needs. Managed several technical design, support, drafting, test, production, and quality groups. DESIGN:
Designed numerous products per customer requirements. Over 450 project designs in both analog and digital designs from commercial to military aircraft applications. Responsibilities included product specification, part/vendor selection, power supply design, circuit design, schematic capture, board layout, debug, testability, manufacture, document and certify.
PRODUCTION: Responsible for design projects from specification to final production, including UL, CSA, DO-160 and FCC certification. Directly responsible for overseas quality and adherence to regulatory standards. FINANCIAL:
Prepared project budgets, monthly and quarterly reports. Presented, reviewed, defended budgets, forecasts and production schedules.
MARKETING: Performed customer studies for project specifications and proposals. Interfaced with customers and sales staff, designed and manufactured prototype products to customer specifications. TECHNICAL SKILLS: Schematic capture, circuit design, PCB layout and simulation using multiple software platforms. Failure analysis and fault detection for circuits including solar/battery systems, power and emergency power systems. WORK EXPERIENCE: 02/11-2014 Senior Electrical Engineer Luminator Plano, Texas Design and manage power / lighting projects for interior/exterior for fixed and rotary aircraft, validate per requirements and codes, certify aircraft lighting to DO-160. Responsible for part/supplier selection, cost, schedule, time, project documentation and ECOs. Supported production floor on both new and legacy products. Worked with vendors to implement quality improvements by adding in line test and select at test calibration programs. Supported Quality with debugging and root cause analysis.
12/09-01/11 Director LED Designs AC Electronics Arlington, Texas Design short and long term product/business plans for best ROI. Design power/LED lighting products for interior / exterior / emergency applications to implement business plan. Validate products per requirements and codes, certify lighting per FCC and UL codes. Responsible for part/supplier selection, cost, schedule, time, project documentation and ECO’s. Additionally responsible for product quality by statically sampling production lots, root cause failure analysis and customer support. Traveled to customer sites for onsite evaluations and consultations. 8/06-10/09 Engineering Department Head IDC (Westinghouse Solar) Roanoke, Texas Responsible for product quality and life cycle. Identify and design new products for customer’s needs or to meet market trends. Designed, staffed and equipped incoming inspection lab for company with statically sampled inspection programs. Supervised in house testing lab personnel and equipment calibration for
quality control, part acceptance and failure analysis. Conducted onsite inspection and qualification of overseas vendors. Supported Sales and Marketing with samples, prototype products and presentation strategies. Supported customer service with replacements for obsolete products/parts. 2/85- 8/06 President Circuit Techniques, Inc.
