THERE IS / THERE ARE SOME AND ANY Some "algunos,-as" en oraciones afirmativas Se utiliza con sustantivos contables e incontables. Los sustantivos contables y el verbo irán en plural. There are some roses in my garden. 

Hay algunas/unas rosas en mi jardín.

There are some birds there

Hay algunos/unos pájaros allí.

Sustantivos incontables La traducción con los sustantivos incontables no es tan literal. El sustantivo y el verbo irán en singular. There is some milk in the bottle. Hay algo de leche en la botella.

Any"ninguno/a" o "nada de" En oraciones negativas y "algo de", "algún" o "alguno/a" En oraciones interrogativas. Se utiliza con sustantivos contables e incontables. There aren´t any potatoes in the kitchen. No hay ninguna patata en la cocina. Have you got any apples for the cake? ¿Tienes alguna manzana para el pastel?

Nota: "Some" se usa también en oraciones interrogativas en peticiones, ofrecimientos o cuando se espera que la respuesta del oyente sea afirmativa. Can I have some water?  Can you give us some information?  Would you like some tea? 

¿Puedo tomar agua? ¿Puede informarnos? ¿Quieres té?
