Effectively directed the development, implementation, and administration of a national assessment program. Liaised with personnel from the State Agency of Education and the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) to gather data. Ensured quality, analysis, and reporting of state assessment data. Directed and coordinated policy and program planning and state participation in assessment reviews. Worked closely with and achieved consistent deadlines and satisfaction with 300 schools and districts to facilitate full compliance with Title I mandates. Contributions: 

Authored press releases, PowerPoint presentations, and special documents for use on the state website for reporting NAEP performance data, and presented results clearly and concisely to various state organizations.



As State Lead, built awareness and capacity of Vermont’s efforts to disseminate Smarter Balanced resources to numerous educators. Collaborated with the State Common Core Program Manager to provide information and support to educational stakeholders state-wide. Developed and wrote weekly “Eye on Assessment” documents on the Smarter Balanced state assessment that was distributed electronically.



State Lead for the Real World Design Challenge, a key initiative giving high school students the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.

Developed, tracked, and reported performance data to the US DOE through the Education Data Exchange Network (EDEN). Assisted Program Managers with file specifications, and worked with state Data Managers in meeting federal timelines. Duties also included directing, coordinating, and disseminating state assessment and accountability data for the annual Maryland School Performance Report Card.
