Human activities in agriculture, industry, and everyday life have had major effects on the land, vegetation, streams, ocean, air, and even outer space. But individuals and communities are doing things to help protect Earth’s resources and environments.
CCC: Systems and System Models - A system can be described in terms of its components and their interactions. Lesson objective(s): Students will research and obtain information about potential ways they can personally contribute to the protection of Earth’s resources and environment. Students will use their knowledge from gathered research to complete a write up &
presentation on an environmental project of their choice.
Differentiation strategies to meet diverse learner needs: EL: Students will be given visuals and may use Flipgrid to share their presentation with us verbally. Allowing my students to present their presentation verbally saves the time and
frustration of writing a paragraph. SPED : Students will be allowed to share their video or pictures and explain their project
verbally as it plays. Doing this will allow them to share their content without having to write an explanation. Gate: Students will be asked to come up with a class activity or project that we could do together to protect the Earth’s resources and environment and share their idea in a video or paper. They are allowed to get as creative as they feel necessary to complete the task. EVALUATION Summative Assessment: Students will complete their Environmental Project and upload their presentation to Class Dojo or Flipgrid.

I will will be be gradi grading ng stu studen dents ts'' work work bas based ed off off of of a rubric I rubric I have created.
Rubric :
Student’s environmental reports and presentations will be graded based ba sed on the rubric I have created. The rubric provides students with an idea of what they will need to do to receive a specific score in each area. Students will be assessed based on their research, documentation, written report, and presentation. This assignment requires students to research an environmental topic of their choice and apply their knowledge to create a project of their own. By doing this, students will show me what they learned about a bout protecting our Earth’s resources and environment.
