GENERAL

Circuit Breakers are classified as either thermal or electronic CBs.Some thermal CBs are located on the cockpit sidewall panels and others inside the ICCs in the electronics bays.

The electronic CBs are located inside the SPDAs, in the electronicsbays.

All CBs situated in the electronics bays are considered remote CBs.The flight crew can visually monitor all circuit breakers located inside the cockpit and, via MCDUs, the remote CBs in the electronics bays.

The ICC remote thermal CBs can only be reset by maintenance personal when the airplane is on ground.

MULTI-PURPOSE CONTROL DISPLAY UNIT (MCDU) REMOTE INDICATIONS • MCDU Description The MCDU reports the status of remote Thermal Circuit Breakers (TCBs), Fuses, and Solid State Power Controllers (SSPCs). In the case of TCBs, the location is displayed to direct the operator to the location of the breaker. The display for the breakers is differentiated such that the operator can readily distinguish between SSPCs and TCBs. The MCDU alsoprovides the operator the ability to close or open SSPCs. EachMCDU is capable of toggling all aircraft SSPCs. Each MCDU reports the current status of the breakers. Each SPDA directly reads the status of its SSPCs or, in the case of TCBs, its discrete inputs for display on the MCDU screen.
