PURPOSE AND SCOPE The purpose of this document is to Standardize CAD drawings produced utilizing Autocad and Microstation software. Autocad (.DWG) and Microstation (.DGN) are the two deliverable formats of SBM-IMODCO. Plant Design Management System (PDMS) may be used on projects, but the deliverable will be one of the fore mentioned.

FONT / LETTER TYPE The following tables shall be followed for text placement in Autocad and Microstation. The tables depict text height and fonts. Text height and width for scaled drawings will have to be adjusted to maintain the correct height when plotted. Utilizing the SBM-IMODCO Toolbar for Microstation will ensure that all text on the drawing will be the correct font, text height and width, etc. Microstation Purpose All text Headers, Views, Sections, etc.

CELL LIBRARIES
To maintain consistency, all drawings originated at SBM-IMODCO shall utilize cell libraries located in the discipline specific directory (W:\Microstation\discipline\cell_libraries). These libraries will be “Read” only and any additions will have to be approved by the discipline lead. Project specific or “client” cell libraries will be located within the project directories.

To maintain consistency, all drawings originated at SBM-IMODCO shall utilize the wblock directories located in the directory W:\Autocad\discipline\block_libraries. These directories will be “Read” only and any additions will have to be approved by the discipline lead. Project specific “client” blocks will be located within the project directories.
7.0
SCALED DRAWINGS
All scaled drawings are to be drawn “full size”. Text sizes should be adjusted in order to get proper text sizes when plotted. Microstation drawings may utilize the Microstation SBM Toolbar for scale adjustment.
8.0
FILE MANAGEMENT
8.1
GENERAL All CAD drawings (electronic files) are located on the “W” drive under the project number (i.e. W:\12720\ACTIVE\”File.dgn”. All preliminary design files used in the upstart of a new project shall be renamed immediately after the project drawing list (DMS List) becomes available. See Document Numbering WP3.5.1. For none-DMS drawings (Sketches) the originator should use his login initials together with a keyword describing the content of the sketch (i.e. jkk_turret.dgn) as a personal record. Avoid the use of non-descriptive titles, such as jkk_sketch01.dgn. In the course of a project, each document will have various revisions. See Document Filing and Issue WP3.5.3.
