Dua Ahmad Al-badawi

‫صالوات نورانية \صالوات بدوي كربى‬ Šalawāt Nūrānīyyah / Šalawāt Badawī Kubrā Allāh ¹ said in the Holy Qur’an:

ِ َ ‫إِ َّنَاَّللّ َََو َم ََل ِئ َك َت ُهَ ُي َص ُل‬ َ‫ص ُلواَ َع َل ْو ِه ََو َس ِل ُمواَت َْسلِ ًوم‬ َ َ ‫ينَآ َمنُوا‬ َ ‫ون‬ َ ‫َع َذَالنّبِ ِّيَ َياَ َأ ُ َُّياَا ّلذ‬

Allāh and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respect.(al-Aħzāb, 33:56) In composing their own odes of praise on the Prophet ÿ awlīyāullāh have been inspired directly from the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ÿ or by seeing a vision or dream in which he informed them of the value of a particular praise or recitation. In the case of this particular du¿ā, which was composed by Sayyidina Aħmad al-Badawī, it is related in Talkhīs al-ma¿ārif fī targhīb Muħammad ¿Ārif by Ħasan ibn Muħammad Qaħħī, that the walī Muhammad Talmaysānī recited Dalā’ilu ’l-Khayrāt 100,00 times. After completing 100,000 recitation the Prophet ÿ came to him in a dream and said to him, “If you read the recitation of Ahmad al-Badawi it would be as if you read Dalā’ilu ’l-Khayrāt 800,000 times.” Here is that šalawāt, known as Šalawāt Nūrānīyyah or Šalawāt Badawī Kubrā.

َ ‫َو َس ِل َْم ََوب َا ِر ْكَ َع َل ْو َِه َو َع َذَآلِ ِه ََو َص ْحبِ ِهَعَدَ ََدَ َم‬ َ‫ْت‬ ََ ‫َو َر َز ْق َت ََو َأ َم ّت ََو َأ ْح‬، َ ‫وّي‬ َ ‫اخ َل ْق َت‬ ِ ِ .‫ي‬ ََ ْ َِ‫ب ا ْل َعاد‬ َ ِ ‫اْل ْمدُ ََِّللَِ َر‬ َ ُ ‫ل َي ْو ِمَ َت ْب َع‬ َ َ ِ‫ا‬ َ ‫َو َس ِل َْمَت َْسل ْو ًمكَث ْ ًر‬، َ ‫ثَ َم ْنَ َأ ْفنَوْ َت‬ َ ْ ‫اَو‬

Allāhumma šalli wa sallim ¿alā Sayyīdinā wa mawlānā Muħammadin shajarati ’l-ašli ’n-nūrānīyyati wa lam¿ati ’l-qabļati ’r-raħmānīyyati wa afļali ’l-khalīqati ’l-insānīyyati wa ashrafi ’š-šūrati ’l-jismānīyyati, šāħibi ’l-qabļati ’l-ašlīyyati wa ’l-bahjati ’s-sanīyyati wa ’r-rutbati ’l-¿alīyyati mani ’ndarajati ’n-nabīyyūna taħta liwā’ihi fahum minhu wa

ilayh. Wa šalli wa sallim wa bārik ¿alayhi wa ¿alā ālihi wa šaħbihi ¿adada mā khalaqta wa razaqata wa amatta wa aħyayta ilā yawmi tab¿athu man afnayta wa sallim taslīman kathīran wa ’lħamdulillāhi rabbi ’l-¿ālamīn. O Allah! Bless, greet and sanctify our master and liegelord Muħammad, the Tree of Original Light, the Sparkle of the Handful of Divine Mercy, the Best of All Humankind, the Noblest of Physical Frames, the Vessel of the Lord’s Secrets and Storehouse of the Sciences of the Elect, the Possessor of the Original Divine Grasp, Resplendent Grace, and Uppermost Rank, under whose flag line up all the Prophets, so that they are from him and point to him. Bless, greet and sanctify him and his Family and Companions, to the number of all that You have ever created, sustained, caused to die, and caused to live again, to the Day You resurrect those You reduced to dust, and greet him with an abundant and endless greeting. Glory and praise belong to Allah, the Lord of the worlds!
