USE

SEZ. 0.3.0

The equipment in your possession has been created for connection to a handling truck, so it is intended for use by people trained in these tasks. The regulations that the people using the equipment must comply with are those relating to self-propelled trucks for handling material. The equipment is specifically intended intend ed for handling bodies during loading and unloading, from all positions presented to the truck. It has in fact been designed bearing in mind the physical characteristics of the article to be handled, consequently the dimensions and shapes of all mechanicall parts are studied especially for these characteristics, including the contact surface of the forks. mechanica Pls. verify that weight and COG do not exceed the nominal datas reported on plate, an increasing of COG should correspond to a  proportionall reducing of ca  proportiona capacity. pacity.

Handling must be performed with the body to be lifted on the same axis as the truck (SEE ENCLOSED DRAWINGS).

The equipment can also operate outdoor in normal atmospheric conditions. INCORRECT USES The equipment is not intended to operate in conditions different from those listed above; besides the situations described in SEC. 0.3.1, the following cases must especially be avoided: - Moving bodies by pushing with the external side of the forks.   - Handling cylindrical-shaped bodies - Operating when people or animals are inside the working area of the attachment - Moving people or animals - Hoisting loads with the end of the forks - Hoisting loads with only one fork - Moving loads that are not correctly fixed - Do not stay on the working area of the sideshifter - Do not use the attachment when this shows deformation on the structure or it is not working well - Mounting the forks without locking

HYDRAULIC ABSORPTION PROCEDURE

Sez.0.4.0.

Before starting with the installation of the attachment it is necessary to check how much is it the plumbing absorbtion and also the backpressure, this one should not exceed 30 bar. While finding higher back pressure the clamping force ( and also rotation speed and torque ) can be reduced.

TEST PROCEDURE: 1.  Insert a manometer 250 bar with T connection at the edges of the hoses coming from the forklift 2.  Give pressure on the distributor lever. 3.  Check the back pressure value indicated on the Cp manometer .  Cp= backpressure 4. Repeat the same procedure for all the other supplementary circuits

Note: To insert the manometer into the circuit use ( if possible ) the original hoses of the forklift or alternatively large diameter and short hoses ( ex ½” )

It is also necessary to verify also the max pressure sent from the forklift distributor, that value should be at least 150 bar, for this reason proceed as follows. 1.  Insert a manometer 250 bar with T connection at the edges of one of the hoses coming from the forklift 2.  Close the other hoses with a cap in order not to dissolve oil all around 3.  Give pressure from the distributor lever in the direction of the hose edged with manometer. 4.  The value read on the manometer is the max value of pressure from the forklift 5.  Should this value be less than 150 bar then ask for forklift service 6.  Repeat the same procedure for all the other supplementary circuits N.B. the test should be done at the nominal hydraulic flow rate that in any case should not be less then the value settled in section 1.0.1

  Sez.1.0.1.

IMPORTANT SUGGESTIONS FOR THE EQUIPMENTS BEST INSTALLATION ON THE LIFT TRUCK 1 - Preliminary information  It is necessary to carry out perfectly the connection to the truck hydraulic system for the correct working of the equipment. Some general notes have been prepared to help in making the correct installation easier. First of all it must be noticed that the back pressure in the closing phase, as pointed out on the hole opposite to the one in pressure, must never exceed 20 bar. Higher back pressures impair the  performance of the equipment. Should any problem occur, first check the back pressure measure. 1.1 – Cascade-Italia suggest to observe the following  following   hydraulic supply and working pressure values to optimize the equipment operation and to avoid any problem during the working or starting phases. The here below shown values are simply indicative and may change for different equipments.

*) These pressure values are valid unless otherwise specified on the equipment label (and EC certification). 2 – Dimensioning of the hydraulic system The equipment correct working is subordinated, in addition to the pressure values and hydraulic flow sent by the truck, also to the type of feeding system between the truck valve and the equipment. The fundamental parameters which influence the equipment acting are the hoses diameter and length; for example hoses with a too small diameters as to the relative length and a fixed hydraulic flow can cause excessive loss of load compromising the correct working of the truck-equipment system. The flexible connection hoses must be dimensioned keeping in mind that the diameter must be chosen according to the actual flow supplied by the truck to move the equipment and to the length of the relative hoses. It is understood that there is a real difficulty to carry out a perfect hydraulic system, namely in accordance with the hydraulics regulations because there would be hoses with an excessive diameter and therefore with great encumbrance and realizable with difficulty. A schedule enclosed to the next paragraph will show the absorption values concerning hoses of different dimensions, different lengths and different  different  hydraulic flows. This schedule is necessary to help the personnel in charge of the arrangement between truck and equipment to set up a system dimensioned and optimal to the system working, namely to obtain back pressure values in the order of 20 bar . 2.1 – Pressure loss of the hoses with hydraulic oil   with viscosity of 20 cSt when in operation

temperature (warm system) and of 100 cSt when starting in cold months. Obviously the absorption of viscosity is arbitrary, but close to the real circumstances. The here below schedule gives pressure loss values (bar) per one linear meter of hose.
