N: drive - It is intended for file sharing of work-related files among staff within Unit at HQ. L: drive - Private storage area for a staff member for work-related files. When exceeding 120% of quota, L drive is locked and no more files can be saved. Files have to be deleted below quota level in order to be able to save files again.

Network & Local Drives Local Drives C - Space on your hard disk - This space is protected. You cannot save documents to the C Drive. Network Drives - backed up on server - so recovery possible G - Bank drive from which some software is run . L - User specific - intended to be a private storage area for the use of a staff member, for work-related files. Not to say you cannot have any personal letters or work on this drive, but the use of the drive for storing games, jokes, non-Bank software, etc. is not an appropriate use of the Bank's resources. This drive also allows for confidentiality since you are the only one that has access to it. The L: drive is also backed up every night, allowing additional protection in the event that a file is accidentally deleted or corrupted. Do not use your L: drive for archival purposes. If you have data that you need stored, contact us about your option of backing up to a CD. M - Unit specific - space for file exchange between unit staff (Shared Unit Space). O - Shared VPU drive space for TEMPORARY file exchange between Regional staff . P - Shared VPU drive - folders created by LAN administrator with access - CO can access, designed for shared working documents (project & task related mostly) within the region. R - Regional Applications Drive - runs the macros and other regional programs. U - Backup of W drive - old files get moved off the W drive onto U temporarily. W - Bank share drive - cleaned out monthly - temporary storage (have to connect separately). Accessing All Your Networks Drives From Home Metaframe is the preferred method of accessing all Network drives through remote access. It is a very fast logon process. The Metaframe client is included in ED4. Just go to http://metaframe.worldbank.org, click on the "Explorer (Windows XP)" icon and log in using the normal NT userid and password. Files can easily be dragged and dropped to/from the remote workstation where they can be edited.
