HANDING TOOLS BNC TYPE ELEVATOR BNC TYPE ELEVATOR Varco's line of BNC 100, 150, 175, 250, and 350 ton capacity drill pipe elevators stand up to the toughest oilfield conditions. Easy to use, simple to maintain, and ruggedly built. Lifting and closing requires 1/3 less effort than other elevators. The hanging angle is most convenient for latching onto a stand of pipe, whether by the floorman or the derrickman. The narrow profile latch provides a straight opening, so pipe can be dropped straight in. The elevator is balanced in design for easier handling. These Varco elevators feature a special safety latch mechanism. Rough neck proven by field test and roughneck proof by design and construction. The Front and rear hinge pins are oversized and made of high strength alloy for maximum life and minimum maintenance. These features mean less wear and longer life. Varco Elevators are fully API Spec. 8A rated. To assure quality, every elevator is pull tested to 11/2 times rated load, and then magnetic particle inspected before shipment. The Varco BNC Drill pipe elevators handle 2-3/8 inch thru 5 inch OD drill pipe with 18-degree upset tool joints. The inside surface of the elevator is induction hardened to provide maximum strength and long service. Less wears means less replacement and lower maintenance cost.
