Introduction

1.1 DRFU The Double Radio Frequency Unit (DRFU) is a Radio Frequency (RF) unit based on the dual density technology. DRFUs are installed in the indoor macro base station (including the BTS3900 and the BTS3900L) and the outdoor macro base station (namely, the BTS3900A). They are usually used in scenarios requiring medium or small capacity. A DRFU supports a maximum of two carriers. a.1 shows its exterior. Figure a.1 Exterior of the DRFU

1.2 GATM The GSM Antenna and TMA Control module (GATM) is optional. If DRFUs are configured in the RF cabinet and the Remote Electrical Tilt (RET) antenna or Tower-Mounted Amplifier (TMA) is required, the GATM must be configured. The GATM is configured in the BTS3900 or the BTS3900A. a.1 shows the front panel of the GATM. Issue V1.1 (2011-02-15)
